Promising, But Not as Advertised
This review is a tough one for me to write, because I can see the effort and potential in the space—but ultimately, our experience didn’t quite match the listing.
The location itself was decent and offered a key advantage: enough room for our group and dogs to spread out and make some noise without disturbing anyone. We really appreciated being able to let the dogs roam a bit (while leashed), which isn't something we take for granted.
The host was responsive over the phone, which we appreciated, though we never met in person. Communication was generally smooth.
That said, the space did not reflect what was advertised. It felt unfinished and in need of significant updates—details that weren’t obvious in the listing photos or description. While I understand that not every place needs to be polished or perfect, the overall condition left us feeling like the price point was just too high for what was actually offered.
That said, one of the biggest highlights was the location. Being within walking distance of Finn River Cidery and the Chimacum Farmers Market—and just a short drive from Port Townsend—added a lot of value to the trip. Having such easy access to local food, cider, and the charm of the nearby town gave us some truly enjoyable outings and helped balance some of the disappointment we felt about
There’s potential here, and I do believe with more transparency and a bit more work, it could be a great rental. But as it stands now, I wouldn’t return at the current rate.
