At 180 acres Glendale Farm in Chimacum, in operation since 1857, is one of the largest single agricultural properties remaining in Jefferson County. The farm includes prime agricultural soils, over half a mile of East Chimacum Creek, and forested areas. The easement protects a buffer zone for salmon and wildlife habitat along the east fork of Chimacum Creek and protects the agricultural and forestry values of the property forever. Jefferson Land Trust and collaborative partners purchased the easement to Insure Glendale farm maintains agricultural practices and wildlife habitat forever! Please be aware this is a working farm with poultry, livestock, and the use of farm equipment providing a great experience for farm life. Glendale farm experienced a devestating loss in 2022, the primary residence burned down, and since then has been going through an extensive cleanup from an extreme hoarding situation. We recommend using shoes at all times as we are still in the process of combing the grounds for glass and possible sharp objects. You can expect to see old farm equipment, some derelict Rvs, and material debris which we are raising funds to remove. Please be patient with us as we continue to improve the site with future showers, a comunal kitchen, and improved landscaping. The Glendale Farm is 1/4 mile walk to and from FinnRiver Farms, where you can enjoy cider, beer, live music, delicious snacks each and every weekend! you can check out their seasonal events. if you want organic produce and locally raised meats it's just a bit further ( 200 yards) to the Chimacum corner farmstead: https://www.chimacumcorner.com If you love music on a magical summer afternoon with delightful chamber music its 6.5 miles to Concerts in the Barn. see the schedule here: https://www.concertsinthebarn.... if you like long walks on the beach at sunset head over to Fort Flagler state park. Just 6.5 miles and easily accessible by bike or car. check it out here: https://parks.wa.gov/find-park... and of course The lovely Port Townsend has all your modern amenities and myriad other events and activities https://enjoypt.com

Silo Field

RV/tent site · Sleeps 10 · Vehicles under 35 ft
This is the silo field. It was once an essential grain storage facility for the farm now it sits empty, making an amazing home for barn owls as well as a beautiful place to meditate. It sits on a ground berm above the chimacum creek riparian zone and stands sentinel for all those traveling to Port Townsend along the beaver valley road. A few feet away are luscious apple and cherry trees and our old barn coral! It’s grass covered throughout the year. Nearby is a portopotty and a slicker that draws water from our incredible well water. Come check it out! There is an electrical box with outlets located behind the portable toilet.

Gazebo Site

RV/tent site · Sleeps 10 · Vehicles under 35 ft
The gazebo field sits right next to the historic Glendale barn. This is a hub of farm activity in the summertime, so be prepared to watch our farm team prep fields, and prepare for harvest. In early fall, this site becomes front row seat to the u-pick pumpkin patch and the fall harvest events ( music, food, and hayrides!) from November through early may it’s pretty quiet and serene with great views of the Olympic mountains and the beginning of the chimacum ridgeline. This site has a portable bathroom, small outdoor fire pit, and a picnic table. Pretty rudimentary, but picturesque. This site can accommodate RV’s without hookup up to 35 ft. And animals are welcome. Electricity is offered at the gazebo area.

Horse Trailer Parking and Trails

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 35 ft
Glendale Horse & Trail is a quiet equestrian-friendly campsite located on 23 acres of forested agricultural land at 200 Ole Torkelson Road in the heart of the Chimacum Valley. Part of historic Glendale Farm, the site offers a peaceful blend of woods, meadow edges, and wildlife habitat—an ideal retreat for riders seeking privacy, space, and easy access to nearby trail systems. Tucked beneath tall evergreens and surrounded by natural clearings, the campsite provides ample room for horse trailers, rigs, tie-outs, and portable corrals. The atmosphere is calm and secluded, with filtered forest light, birdsong, and soft footing that helps horses settle quickly. Guests can warm up on small on-site forest paths or enjoy quiet walks along the meadow margins before heading out for longer rides. Just minutes away is Chimacum Ridge Community Forest, a multi-use trail network open to horses, hikers, and cyclists. Its wide gravel roads, shaded loops, and scenic viewpoints make it one of the best riding areas on the Peninsula. Several other equestrian options—Anderson Lake trails, sections of the Larry Scott Trail, and horse-friendly portions of the Olympic Discovery Trail—are all within a short drive. The site sits in the center of the Chimacum Valley’s unique forest-farm landscape, where stands of cedar and fir meet open agricultural fields, orchard country, and salmon-bearing creek habitat. Deer, owls, hawks, and songbirds are regular visitors. Despite the sense of seclusion, the campsite is close to local favorites like Chimacum Corner Farmstand, Finnriver Farm & Cidery, Red Dog Farm, and the Port Townsend arts district. Bring your normal horse gear, water buckets, feed, and a high-line or portable paddock. Water access is available on-site. Dogs must be controlled around horses and wildlife. Whether you’re a solo rider, a pair of traveling horse campers, or a small group looking for a quiet basecamp, Glendale Horse & Trail offers a serene forest retreat with immediate proximity to some of the region’s best riding.
