Great for Stargazing!

Beautiful yurt and a short 5 min walk away from an amazing view at the top of a nearby hill. We went for the stargazing and it did not disappoint. We even saw a few shooting stars! We'll definitely be back!

Enjoyed our stay! Check-in was easy, and communication with the host was great. The yurt was comfortable and a nice home base for exploring the area. It was peaceful and quiet and the stars at night were amazing!

This is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for beauty, seclusion and amazing views. The yurt is impeccable and has everything you need- bedding, dishes, cookware, etc. Our two young kids loved the tree house, star gazing, and running up the hill to gaze at the scenery in all directions. Highly recommend!

The yurt was so lovely and stocked with plenty of blankets and an easy camp kitchen setup. The land and views were spectacular. It was the perfect spot for star gazing and getting off-grid for a little while.

Quiet location under the stars.

I love the location and quietness of this yurt and property. Very welcoming hosts. Really pretty area - and you can see for miles in all directions at the top of the prairie hill.
The yurt itself was big and cozy. The bed is very comfortable. Just remember to pick up ice along the way. They provide a cooler or you can bring your own. It's nice to sit and watch the stars. My dogs enjoyed themselves as well.

Such a beautiful place! Irene and Bill are deeply kind and remembered (because we had mentioned it months before) that we were celebrating a 6 year olds birthday and they left out a present for her. This is the perfect peaceful getaway- 10/10 recommend!

We had the best time at the Forest Cupcake!!! The Land is unbelievably special. The yurt itself was comfortable and clean. Neighbors were kind and curious. Hosts are beyond kind and accommodating. We couldn’t stop saying how lucky we felt to be there all weekend. Do yourself a favor and make sure to go outside late at night— the stars are unbelievable.

This is a great little yurt! The location is awesome. One reviewer mentioned it being too close to neighbors. I will say, there are two houses fairly close by, however one is the owner and the other is their neighbor and the layout and location never makes it feel like you’re close to anyone. Aside from a random walker on the gravel road, this feels remote. It’s also rustic and, best part, no cell service or WiFi in the yurt!!!! Definitely lets you disconnect. Can walk to the top of the hill for cell service if you need it, but only brought my phone for pictures. The view is incredible and the sunsets are amazing. Our last day in town, we went hiking 20 minutes east of Lyle and came back through town and found out a fire has started on the opposite side of the highway from the turnoff onto the gravel road. Hope to God it gets put out fast and everything up there is OK! This is a small piece of heaven we hope everyone gets to enjoy! Thanks to the owners for a great stay! We’ll definitely try to return.

Cozy yurt camping with views!
This is such a special place! My husband and I stayed at the Forest Cupcake for a long weekend to celebrate one ten year anniversary and it was so relaxing, cozy, and refreshing. Irene and Bill have really added all the special touches and creature comforts to level up the camping experience! It’s so quiet and beautiful and on top of everything else, the most epic sunset spot of all time is just a short walk up the hill! 10/10 recommend!!

Ease into camping season
What a delightful getaway! My favorite part was falling asleep in the very comfortable bed, while listening to the owls' soft hooting and the wood crackling in the fire inside. The yurt has all the homey amenities, while being off-grid, making it a great way to ease into the camping season. The only thing I didn't really expect was that it would take a good 12 or 15 minutes to reach the yurt from Lyle due to the long (although scenic) gravel road to get there. With that in mind, I'd recommend planning most of the time at the yurt. I had other hikes in mind, so I don't feel like I had *enough* time to just relax at the yurt. I'll just have to go back!

Great experience sleeping near the gorge. Got snowed in but our hosts were gracious enough to stop by and give us heads up of the inclement weather. They offered us some of their wood for the stove and a parking spot out of the rough snow covered roads. All of it made us feel safe and comfortable in our experience in this gorgeous yurt on this beautiful piece of land!
