Chalet - Tiny Forest Cabin
This is a hidden gem! Super quiet, safe and private, with lots of rugged old forest and beach to explore. I really liked the environmental science education component with helpful facts on laminated cards along the trail. The hosts are mighty generous too. Definitely a place to come back to, especially with kids.

We’ll definitely be back! I hope they continue to keep it open for families. Even during kids camp (apparently there were over 50 kids while we were there) it was very peaceful and relatively quiet. The beach was our favorite! We were even able to take a paddle in a couple of their canoes!

Sound View was a wonderful time for my family of four. We arrived and set up in one of the tidy tent campsites. The site was a little less private than I had expected, there were two other sites near without any tree or vegetation between
but it didn't matter because the other campers were great and everyone was mindful of each other.
We walked around to check out the property, it is nestled in beautiful forest next to the beach. The beach area was delightful, the water clear and shallow. Great for wading and swimming with kids.
We were very pleasantly surprised at how many fun activities were available for us to join if we wanted. The staff was very friendly and engaged, and we felt reassured because they were so contientious about COVID Safety. We very much enjoyed the farm tour and archery lesson. We'd love to visit again and maybe go boating next time!
I want to add that I much appreciated that Sound View was committed to environmental stewardship. There was recycling and composting available. They take very good care of the land there.

Great Camping Grounds with plenty of activities and areas to explore. Sites well maintained. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Only piece of advice is ask what number your site is when you check in, and look for the number on the site picnic tables. I want to come back!

This place gets 10 stars! This was our first hipcamp experience and I'm so glad we found Sound View Camp. We stayed in one of the "inner kid" sites. The property is beautiful, and our campsite was very spacious. We took our two year old son and he had so much fun. From our campsite it was a little hike down to a the beach which had tons of tiny sand crabs, sand dollars and cool rocks. It was also shallow and calm enough for our son to wade in. One thing that we didn't realize about this campsite that surpassed our expectations is that there are a few staff members who, in addition to maintaining the property, also lead outdoor activities such as archery and canoe rentals. There is even a little farm with some farm animals that they let one family in at a time to see and pet. The staff were all super nice and welcoming. All in all, we had a great experience, and we've already booked a few more weekends there this summer :)
I'd also like to note that I felt very safe camping here with my family even with the current Covid situation, in part because the property is huge and campsites are not densely situated. The staff went above and beyond in my eyes, providing some hand sanitizer stations and wearing/requiring masks at any staff lead activities. For reference, we had camping reservations a state park but cancelled them upon driving through the park because it was quite crowded. Sound View Camp allowed us to have ample space and feel relaxed.
I would highly recommend both this site, and Sound View Camp in general to anyone looking to camp this summer!

The whole camping property is really peaceful and spaced out. We booked the tent cabins and the cabins exceeded our expectations. The staff around the property is really friendly. The campsite also has bikes and sports equipment available. Would recommend taking your own grill as the common kitchen is occupied by a group and you may not get a chance to use the grill available there. Overall a great experience, would definitely visit again!

This place is a hidden gem. The staff is super friendly. Everything is well maintained. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks to camp again! I'm ready for some more archery lessons! We're telling all our friends about you guys!

This was our first time here and we felt like kids at summer camp again. There are so many activities for adults and children as well as hiking trails, kayaking and canoeing and a scavenger hunt on the beach. We are planning our next trip now.

This place is a hidden gem!! It surpassed ALL of our expectations by a mile. The property was beautiful, all of the staff were warm and friendly, and we wanted for nothing the entire time we were there. When we got to our site, there was a big jug of fresh water, the cleanest outhouse I've EVER seen, and all the free firewood we could use. I had some of the best sleep ever, lulled by the gentle wind rustling though the trees. We took a ukelele lesson, shot at the archery range, wandered some trails, pet some goats, and of course sat in front of our campfire each night.
This place is the best-kept secret around, and while I kind of want to keep it that way, I also want to make sure everyone knows about it and makes time to go. It's magical. ❤️

This place was better than expected! The trails all over of the property were so much fun. The cabin was cozy with the electric fireplace. Even the local wildlife was looking out for us. We had a great time and have already recommended it to others.

Kurt was accommodating and quick to respond to communications. He and the camp staff left us fire starters/wood and hot water for coffee/tea. The campground is large and beautiful, plus there are camp kitties that are very friendly if you can find them! We had the campground to ourselves due to booking in the off season, but I wouldn’t suspect that’s the case all the time. Youth camps are held here and it’s more family oriented.

The site was gorgeous! The camp had a youth group present but we didn’t see anyone and were even invited to share in the canoeing on the sound and could have joined at the dining hall. Staff were friendly and set up some wood and grabbed us some matches when we realized we forgot a lighter so we didn’t have to go to the store.
