I have stayed at this HipCamp in the past and liked it so much I decided to come back. The sites themselves offer the basics: table, chairs, fire pit, tent spot. But the best parts of this campground are the outdoor kitchens, outdoor game area, and all of the wooden gnomes to find. I would come back here for another stay!

This place is such a gem! Beautifully maintained, quiet, and great location to Sol Duc hot springs and Olympic National Park. Logan was super responsive with any questions I had. The campground is super charming with lots of wooden statues and string lights around. Bonus that there are bathrooms and a shower! Can’t wait to return next summer.

It was a really beautiful campsite with a lot of convenient amenities available. The only thing I really have to complain about is that the heater in the tent wasn’t enough to keep us warm at night.

Really cool space. I stayed in camp 0. While folks with mobility issues may struggle a bit with being up hill, I didn't find it to be an issue at all and the cheaper price meant I could stay longer. That being said, all the sites looked great. The kitchen was so nice for breakfast and to cook up the mushrooms I foraged nearby. Eventually the shower curtain will need to be changed but that hot shower in a cold night was amazing. Super close to so many things. I'll definitely be coming back.

Unique place but near noisy highway

This place is a pretty unique site with whimsical wooden carved mushrooms (and many real ones too) through the grounds. I enjoyed exploring too see how many different mushroom varieties I could spot! There are amenities like kitchens, bathrooms & showers, as well as ample seating areas and even a ping pong table on the grounds. I can tell that the hosts have put a lot of effort and soul into this place! My biggest disappointment is something that unfortunately cannot be fixed by the host— the highway is so close that all I could hear were cars whooshing by all day and night. I barely heard any birds or other nature sounds during my stay. This broke my illusion of being “in the wilderness” and was not the camping experience I had hoped for. The site itself, 4b, is very small and right on the road- not super isolated or tucked away. It comes with a fire pit and seating. There is also a wooden deck and pad to put a tent (awesome!) but unfortunately it was too small for ours. Overall I appreciate the campgrounds, but it just wasn’t the nature retreat I was looking for.

We had a wonderful time bringing our son to his first camping trip! The place was super chill. The kitchen was great and the property was beautiful. I especially liked the carvings of mushrooms and nomes. It was 3 minutes from lake crescent and maybe 25 minutes to the hot springs. I would go back any time.

This place was just off the road for easy in and out. Close to Lake Crescent and the Sol Duc Hwy for great exploring. Camp was comfortable, great people I ran into. Beautiful morning and working kitchen area. Good times.

Our site was secluded and the whole property is very cool. Its proximity to the Olympic discovery trail is also a bonus. I would note that the drive into the site was easy for us in a rav4, but could be challenging with anything bigger than that. Sites are small but manageable!

The campgrounds were amazing!! the setting was beautiful and the directions were on point!! Everything listed was there: kitchen, kitchenware, running hot water for bathrooms, functional toilets in restrooms. Though the tent had a heater, it didn't do a great job, but thank goodness for blankets! (bring your own sleeping bag if you'd like extra comfort and warmth). was a perfect location for my hikes within Olympic; 30-45 mins to Hurricane Ridge and 15 mins from Storm King. I'd surely consider staying here once I plan my Pacific NW road trip!

Sol Duc retreat was one of the best camping experiences we’ve ever had. An amazing place to explore, so many great carvings, great people and everything you need to relax and enjoy nature and still be clean, make food and new friends. We will definitely be back!!

A truly magical place. We loved the natural beauty with the unique wood carvings. Love the communal spaces — especially the kitchens. Very close to some gorgeous hikes in the national park, too. Someone has clearly put a lot of care into this property to make it a serene and unforgettable getaway. Will be telling all our friends and family about this place!

Perfect location to explore the Olympic Peninsula and NP. Although there’s a handful of sites, ours (site 3) was very private and quiet. It’s nice to be able camp somewhere with a kitchen, bathrooms, shower and potable water! Our 2-year old loved all of the wooden statues :)

Wow! This place is a magical forest escape! Our most expensive campsite on our month journey but WORTH IT! I’m so glad we chose to book this for two nights. The location is fabulous with access to a number of trails from the site itself and it is at the entrance to Sol Duc … so much to do we couldn’t even explore it all. The property is also has so many amenities we didn’t have anywhere else and a charm that is all its own. There are fun wood carvings, excellent communal spaces, tons of seating, relaxing areas and little trails and a stream that runs through it. IT IS TIGHT - for larger vehicles check that you can access your space. We drove in with a Hyundai Santa Fe and made it but I can see anything much larger might be a challenge depending on the site. Directions are a little questionable but follow them - they are accurate. The pull off across from Sol Duc IS the entrance! I camped with my two sons and they loved the exploring options, wandering around the small trails and reading on the giant rope-bed. I went to the communal kitchen for internet access (they have satellite at the center 😅 what a blessing in these forests of cell service depreciation lol) and I always found other travelers gathered there. We didn’t need any kitchen facilities but they had two spaces on site that appeared well stocked! Flushing toilets … showers … and dish washing space 🏕️ While just a stop it could have been the destination! 🌲 🏔️🥾

A bit more maintenance on bathrooms and kitchen area — lockers and fridges were totally packed, so no good place to store food. Took a chance and kept it in the tent. Also, steep hill for anyone not comfortable driving steep inclines. Not a problem, but would be good to mention.

A forest wonderland 💚

What an amazing place! You can tell that the owners of this location put a lot of love and mindfulness into this place, from the amenities of well-furnished kitchens(!) and hot(!) showers, to the hand-carved and selected decorations hidden everywhere and multitudes of places to sit by yourself or hang out with others. Even with all of the pleasures of civilization, it still feels like you're truly camping inside the rainforest, which was exactly what I was hoping for. (And I spent more than a little time on the rope hammock platform, just soaking it all in!) Aside from the nearby roadway during the day, which isn't terrible and is less noticeable in the further campsites, it's incredibly peaceful and quiet, and that same road takes you to so many nearby sites for exploring and hiking that I can't find it in me to mind the mild noise! I'm so glad I stumbled across this place, and I greatly look forward to returning! I was in one of the "glamping" spots, #5, and very much appreciated the setup and available power, as well as the clever use of padding between tent and platform. It was perfectly cozy on the mild September nights - I brought an electric blanket just in case but didn't need it - and there was more than enough room and height to not struggle with space at all.

I enjoyed our stay! Our camp spot was very private and the grounds were cozy and magical!!! I loved the wood art, shared kitchen space, the fun hanging lounging area, and the 2 mile walk to the lake. Would 100% stay here again!!! My only thing is that the bathrooms could use a little cleaning/throwing away of luffas and bath products others left behind. It did not take away from the experience - just my two cents! Also i think our site was the only site without the twinkle lights which is 100% fine, we just wish we had them because they were so nice at the other sites! But please don’t take that as anything negative.
