This camping was not too far from the places we wanted to visit so it was useful! The laundry room was very useful and our dog truly appreciated the space to run! We don't really see any mountain because the trees are too high but I'm not going to complain about the trees! Do make sure you stop by the general store, that's where you have to confirm your stay and fill in the paperwork (which were quite extensive... Never had to fill in so much details...). Overall, a nice experience!

We were coming in from Seattle and needed a quick place to stay with a tent already set up because it was pouring rain. The tent was spacious with 2 cots and kept us dry for the night until we could make our way to our destination.

Be prepared for the weather. Space was cute and clean. We didn’t have enough warm clothes/blankets for the colder rainy night. Tent did not leak. Facilities were clean and a code was needed for entry. Staff was very attentive.

We travel and work out of a 40ft motorhome, and getting into our spot was a bit tricky,. Though we were only there for 1 night, we found the park to be clean and quieter than expected since it is close to the road.

We have a decked out minivan but our connected pop up tent we ordered didn’t come in time so we were suddenly without a tent we knew how to put up at night with the rain. We were able to instant book this adorable tent site with the tent already there. It was super easy to find (we got in raining and after dark). It had two cots inside and decently roomy and kept us dry. Bring some padding for your cots if you have a bad back. The adorable
Lights hung everywhere with the hammock and fire pit and picnic table made this look like a fairy wonderland. Amazing. The bathroom was just up the path and was super clean. Flushing toilets. Hot showers. There’s a general store right there with gas and all your needs open like 9-7ish. Internet and cell service is not great so just be prepared for that! I hope to come back and spend more time here.

This RV park is right on the edge of the Olympic national Forest. It is very cute and quaint with a General store, propane, fuel, and also long-term spots available.
Quite a friendly brunch of people. The showers are warm and the laundry is wonderfully priced. It’s a very beautiful spot.

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and left Thursday morning. While the lower half of the site was okay and grocery store was very nice and friendly. There was absolutely nothing to do. The upper 2 levels were people who live at the camp. Looked like a mobile home park. Will not be coming back.

Overall good site, nice bathroom/shower facility. Site K doesn’t have any grass so if there is potential for showers have a full rain fly or extra large footprint to keep the mud at bay. There is a little road noise as others mentioned, but the conscience of the location can’t be beat.

This was probably my fault, but I thought it was on the lake not across the street from the lake. There is no view. It’s a short drive to the lake, but I was hoping for a walk to the lake and a possible view. The folks were super nice at shadow Mountain and accommodating. I would recommend it as long as you know it’s not a lake view nor easy walking access to the lake.

Very well kept site. Conveniently located near popular hikes like Devil's Punchbowl and Hurricane Ridge. Gentleman that works the front desk was super helpful and pleasant. General store is super convenient and has all the last minute things you might need. & the view is beautiful. Showers/bathrooms were clean and well kept. Quiet at night. Would definitely stay again!

We booked a tent site as we have a small RV van and don't need to pay for hookups. Site F looked good in the photo but it's misleading, and is on the side of a hill just off busy Hwy 101 and you cannot park a vehicle near the table, it must be parked adjacent to the road. We were allowed to relocate to the side of an internal road farther up the hill, but couldn't conveniently use our Site F or its table. On the plus side, we were a bit farther away from the traffic noise and closer to the excellent restroom block.

The bathrooms were much nicer than expected and the general store had everything we needed. Car/Dispersed site is close to highway and traffic does die down overnight but I would recommend a site with a table and fire pit!

Great campground for the cost. Close to Olympic National Park. RV Spaces are close together. Pictures make it look bigger than it is. General store is nice if you need snacks or forgot anything. Very limited cell service which can be a blessing or a challenge depending on how ya take it. Map given at campground shows a playground but there is not a playground. Big field for running and play though. Beautiful location.

I loved the hot water, potable water, and closeness to the National Park and to a general store!
Few things about campsite A:
The whole thing is on a grade and fairly rocky, keep that in mind.
Potable water is by F (not an issue).
Very close to the general store, also the first that is driven by when entering the camping area.
They are VERY up front about being by the highway, so don't be surprised you hear road noise.
There's a helpful built in hammock and twinkle lights!
Overall, I would definitely stay here at Shadow Mountain Campground again, but probably choose C, E, or F for tent camping.
Was a great first time camping trip for our littles' first trip, thank you!

The only good thing was location! The camp hosts/store staff were the least friendly we’ve encountered in our cross-country trip. No WiFi (even though it’s advertised, and they were rude when asking.) Site advertised as 30’ and our 27’ trailer stuck into the road a bit and vehicle had to be parked elsewhere (understandable, but site for just trailer was tight!) Starlink was difficult/spotty given trees. Water was very metallic and smelled bad even with filter. Overpriced for the value, really only stay here if this is the best location for you and you don’t mind iffy hookups and unfriendly staff!

The bathroom with shower was very clean and pleasant, the little store is a tremendous convenience. The campsite itself is very nice, flat ground, firepit and hammock. You can park right next to the campsite. The highway is quite loud though. Maybe bring ear plugs.

The campground seemed great for RV camping but unfortunately as a tent camper we didn’t have the best experience. The tent sites were very close together with no privacy. We also couldn’t park our car near the site and had to unload our gear away from our site.

No, I didn’t not realized when I booked that field camping was right on Hwy 101 and not in the big open field in the center of the campground. Too much traffic noisy, next to gas pump, highway and driveway into the camp grounds.
Stayed only one night of 2 night reservation.

The site was located just off the road so there was a lot of road noise. The general store right next door came in handy. There were only 2 restrooms for the entire campsite and they ran out of toilet paper. The location was good. The proximity to Lake crescent and Port Angeles was a huge plus.
