Join us in our cabin overlooking the saltwater at the mouth of Turner Bay. During October there will be high water during the daylight hours almost all month. Which makes for great bird watching and exciting deck time. This is a family property with the host on site in the main house. The cabin is really cozy as we have an HVAC system so you can stay warm in the winter months, and cool in the summer. The unique property allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, crabbing; and fishing (seasonal), Birding, bicycling and playing on the beach, high tide twice a day brings in all sorts of wildlife as well as the occasional message in a bottle. For small craft (kayak or canoe) boating from here the most accurate tide chart is La Conner Wash. Some of which you need to call ahead to arrange. For instance, rock climbing, or kayak rentals. You will find the Swinomish Casino and golf course within two miles. Or spend time exploring the little shops and local entertainment in the small towns of Anacortes and La Conner. You can also take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a scenic ferry ride out of Anacortes. While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, or our cats Poly and Minnie, we also have several chickens that provide us with eggs most of the time. Also on the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Shawn who lives in a retro build bus at the north end. Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! Our property has hosted many events, such as weddings, family reunions, company picnics, a music festival, and life celebrations. If you are interested, please let us know. We are always evolving our land to share with others.Open all year round! This very private small (210sq ft +loft) cabin is nestled in the bamboo. It sits above the tide flats with a wraparound deck. The wall facing the beach is almost all windows with a long view of the bay. There is a new heat and air conditioning unit. There is also a full kitchen, with hot and cold water, a sink, a new four-burner propane stove with oven. A refrigerator, coffee pot and a toaster. A queen Murphy bed with bedding and a twin loft with mattress, sheets and blankets provided. An adjoining private bathroom with shower, shampoo, soap, towels and a compost toilet. Surrounded by beach, bamboo and our gardens, a wonderful place to relax.

Beautiful cabin with great view through wall of windows and wrap around porch. Queen size murphy bed in living area and a oft bed great for kids or grownups alike! Full kitchen with all your needs!

Magical Shangri-La in Anacortes!

The Bamboo Cottage and Nancy's entire property were absolutely magical. We brought our 6-month-old puppy who got along famously with their dog and has never had such a free and wonderful romp. They really have everything you need to feel at home and go above and beyond to be warm and inclusive. We were delighted with our experience and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Magical beautiful world…

The Bamboo Cabin was a total delight for our family. We fell in love with the land and waters as well as the hosts (including the dog host). Comfortable, beautiful, peaceful and friendly. Amazing gardens, light, sunsets and silhouettes after dark. We stayed 5 nights and hope to come back asap. Easy access to the ferry terminal in Anacortes, and the Skagit Food Coop was delightful… but mostly I just wish we had more time to relax in this wee gem of a place.

I loved Nancy’s cabin. The wetlands are literally just beyond the deck. Enjoyed watching the tide come and go. Perfect for sitting back, reading and relaxing. Just what I needed for a recharge. Nancy is lovely and a great host. Thank you.
