Mara was so kind, welcoming, and informative. The campsite is beautiful situated right along a river. There’s a portapotty and even WiFi by the main building if you come to need it!

Mara is friendly and so helpful. The campground is beautiful and you can hear the river from your camp site! We recommend coming in the daylight as the location has poor reception and can be hard to find. But it was a beautiful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

This campground was a great location to lay our heads for the night after a full day of activities, and at an affordable price. 15 min to the west you can explore the Kalaloch beaches. 30 min east you can explore Quinault.

This campground has amazing access to the national park while being tucked away from the busyness and the crowds! We always come back here, the river sounds are wonderful to sleep to.

Sweet little Place

A great little campground; we received a very friendly welcome. Unfortunately, the four sites are for tents only—so no rooftop tents. We didn't realize this, so we ended up sleeping in the designated parking area across the road. Each tent site is tucked into its own little nook among the trees—really beautifully laid out, offering plenty of privacy. There is a small trail leading down to the river nearby. Very nice. We’ll be back if we’re ever in Washington State again.

This site had a beautiful view of the river and Mara is an excellent and kind host. She even treated our family to a movie night in her shop! The site was clean, well maintained, and a fantastic gateway to Olympic National Park.

Camp 2: Quiet Overlook

Stayed in site #2, Friday and Saturday night and had a great time. The land was well-maintained and the campsite itself felt really private, didn't feel like we were on top of other guests. The hosts were so lovely and clearly put a lot of care into the place. They also hosted a movie night with popcorn in their garage, which was such a fun treat. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

When we first pulled up to Mara's place, I was dubious because the sites are *right* next to the road. But, ironically, it ended up being the quietest site we stayed at during our travels - the road doesn't get hardly any traffic, which we were quite happy about. The sites are really beautiful, and the river sounds and views are lovely. We had the place to ourselves as well, which helped create a quiet, calm atmosphere. We booked site #1, and I somehow missed that the back half of this site is currently closed, which was disappointing, but honestly, the layout was still great. We didn't have cell service, and there's a wifi connection just across the street, but the connection was very weak - something to note if you absolutely need a connection while here.

Amazing little spot! I was a tad bit worried knowing it was right off the road, but: 1. I didn't hear a single car pass in the night, and only 2 passed during evening/dinner time. 2. The campsites are all tucked away behind trees and right on the river, so you can't actually see the road. Felt very private and secluded! Mara was fantastic. She met us out front as soon as we arrived, showed us the trail down to the the river, provided some good sights and eats advice, and let us know we could call her if we needed anything. There was only one other guest while we were staying but they were quiet and respectful. Almost no bugs while we were there, which was surprising given the river is so close. Location is also only 20 minutes away from Ruby beach and third beach (amazing tidepooling and sights!). I hate portapotties so tried not to use it, but ended up waking up in the middle of the night needing to go. To my surprise, it was VERY CLEAN and I wished I hadn't tried to avoid it and been forced to go in the night lol she clearly takes great care of her guests, the property, and the toilet! I will definitely be returning on my next camping trip.

So glad I found this spot! Mara was very friendly and gave great recommendations. The sites are beautiful, peaceful, and the property well kept. As someone visiting from the east coast, I thought I wanted to be at the national park campgrounds. After driving by them (overcrowded, close together, right by a busy road) I am SO grateful I booked Salmon Run instead.

This campsite was in a very convenient location. The river was beautiful and the campsite was spacious. It was also close to the coast which we enjoyed. Only issue is the campsite is close to the road & although it’s not a busy road, trucks do go by quite fast in the mornings. So just make sure to be aware of that!

Peaceful and scenic private camp

Great little camp site. Each site was semi-private. We had a great view of the river, a clean newly painted picnic table, and plenty of space. Getting water from the river wasn’t super easy due to low water conditions, so recommend bringing plenty of water with you. Having WiFi was super helpful for planning the next days of our bike tour. The bathroom was clean and well stocked.

We had a great experience camping here! Our hosts were so helpful and made sure we knew where everything was and had everything we needed. BEAUTIFUL campsite a stones throw from the river whose sounds we fell asleep to. A very serene, private, beautiful place to camp that’s very nearby the national park beaches. 10/10 would recommend!!

I was a little nervous with the spots being along the road, but it was not an issue at all. The property is very clean and the spots are very nice. There was an issue with the spot we reserved and Mara was very communicative with us before our stay and made sure to check in with us when we arrived. I would stay here again! It is a good spot between Lake Quinault and the ocean beaches

Great grassy area with plenty of spots to pop up a tent or three! Awesome picnic table. River sounds were top tier. Quiet road. Mara was nice and flexible. Great spot to enjoy Olympic parks from.

A beautiful little spot along the river, and so close to the coast! We had no problems finding the campsite, utilized the very helpful cart to transport our camping gear across the road to our site from the designated parking spot, and enjoyed a quick walk around the property. I would advise that you should prepare for bugs as there's a healthy population given the slow side pool of the river down below, and that you should bring strong fire starter if you intend to use to the campfire - the moisture from the Pacific gets into the wood provided and will quench any efforts at combustion. All in all a great experience and a site I can recommend!

Wonderful area. Open and clean at entrance, with a nice little space for a tent with a fire pit and a picnic table. Can be a cozy spot in that space, but there’s a larger area right outside the trees to set up a larger tent or picnic. Mara was communicative the whole time and came to meet us. There was fire wood for sale on site and a porta potty. Can walk to explore the river and even had some rackets and balls to hit around. Can’t recommend it enough. Thanks, Mara!
