Garden Party RV Site
Great little spot, and Margot has the most posh outhouse you could imagine. It's a great, quiet property within an easy drive of Mt. Rainier national park. There are also some quirky towns nearby. My dog and I absolutely enjoyed our stay here.

We absolutely loved it here! Margot's property was very clean, and maintained. The bathroom was great! Even my 5 year old who can be picky about bathrooms did fine which always makes things easier. We can't wait to come back! It's only 45 minutes from home for us, so I think we just found our new favorite go to place!

We had a wonderful time camping at Margo’s property, it’s beautiful scenery, private and there is lots to explore, this is our second time staying there and hopefully we’ll be back, highly recommend!

This is a beautiful spot! We, of course, were there on the only two days of rain in the last two months, but we tossed up a couple of tarps and it was a lovely retreat. Margot was responsive, friendly, and helpful. My daughter and I delighted in exploring around the creek. Margot is also building a bunch of cute walking paths and little hidden spots of joy. We had fun exploring, even in the drizzle. Our last morning the sun came out and it was just magical to sit by the creek and enjoy a spectacular morning.
The Alder walk-in spot is more removed than the other sites and it’s an easy walk from the car. The toilet was a gem! A little outhouse with a flush toilet! There was also a hose with potable water and amazing water pressure and the site has tons of space to spread out in. We were able to leave all day and our stuff was very safe.
Defiantly a fab find! Keeping this one in mind so I can enjoy this area in some sun!

Loved this spot! Margot was so sweet and gave a tour of her beautiful property. Very private. Outhouse was clean. The dogs loved playing in the creek. Can’t wait to come back again in the future!

This is a wonderful place to camp and call home for a few days! It is peaceful, gorgeous, and has lots of amazing opportunities to explore nearby. Margot is an exceptional host and has wonderful recommendations for the area. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting to explore this area of Washington!

I loved camping here. The small details around the site were adorable, lots of little trails to adventure with the kiddos, and we couldn't get enough of the creek! :) would definitely stay again!

I cannot recommend. The cost: it was $393 - 3 nights tent camping for 5 people & 2 dogs, (it is all your own supplies) I realize Hipcamp does retain some, still pricey. The host greeted us after we set up. At that point she said that she charges for an extra person. Online states the site is 6 people max but she now said it’s only 4 people more money for added people. It is not in the listing extras & she did not say in our messaging prior to the trip about the charge. Then she said she charges for 2 tents. Again it is not stated in listing or convos. I paid for eggs & electricity at arrival in cash. Now I had to pay for extra things that I had no idea about. We asked for 4 piles of wood that end up being 8 pieces for $8 each. We handed over $100. That’s now a $500 3 night tent camping trip. The outhouse: we dry camp often, so the flushing toilet in a box is a luxury. The issue - the “provided amenities.” The owner came all 3 days & never stocked the toilet paper once despite saying she would the first day. We always bring our own but I’m not sure why I would need to remind them to restock that for $500. The hand sanitizer seemed weak in alcohol. Expired in 2021. I checked the wipes, also expired in 2021. The set up: yard had broken chairs, tables, jars, bags, boxes etc. Not a good sight. The close neighbors: entire 3 nights we heard them driving by, yelling & consistently barking dogs. Dogs bark but theirs were at it before 5:30am and until midnight. Not relaxing at all.

Beautiful property. We had the place to ourselves and really enjoyed it. Margot was a responsive host and made us feel very welcomed. The kids loved being able to hold the baby chicks!

Margot was a great host — very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. Upper Meadow was very private and fit my 19' Trailer just fine. We enjoyed lovely nightly fires with her wonderful firewood. Unfortunately, we were unable to use the fresh eggs we bought, but it's a nice touch. The outhouse was clean and stocked with TP, hand sanitizer and room spray. It's a great place to stay if you're visiting Mount Rainier!

Garden Party RV Site
Nice, secluded site. We rented the RV site and the wall tent. We requested the ability to add 2 tents to the RV site for additional family. Margo said we’d take care of any add-on fees at checkout. Margo kindly welcomed us upon arrival. She said we have “all this” gesturing to a large grassy area. Day 2 Margo emailed us about how we were “spread out all over the property and that we would have to move everything to the RV pad as I told you. You might need to move your tents.” She felt strongly she had explained the boundaries, and that the “RV site boundary is an imaginary line from this point to that,” gesturing to somewhere in the distance. She told us that our daughter in the wall tent could not park near our site as it is not fair for “those renters.” (‘those renters’ were us!) Margo continued by saying that all this info was included in the map she sent us. I immediately checked my reservation. I never received a map. Margo later apologized and admitted she sent the map to the wrong party. At Checkout: She said we used twice the firewood that we reserved. I said we only used what you gave us. She said, “that was 2 units.”
I offered to share feedback from a guests’ perspective. She said she felt strongly that she made everything clear to us on day one. Margo was not interested in our input. This review would have been very different had she been just a little receptive. Overall, we had a good time. Just make sure you are clear on fees and site layout.

What a beautiful, private, peaceful place to get rejuvenated! We were planning on going to Mt Rainier, but instead chose to be be lazy and happy at the site. The dogs had a great time, too! We wandered around the property a lot (there are a lot of fun things to check out-- Margot is so creative!), and played in the creek (not too much water in it now because it's summer). And Margot's bathroom is the best Hipcamp bathroom we've been in (our previous hipcamp stay had a bathroom that was unusable, so we went from worst to best). Thanks, Margot!

Alder Grove walk-in tent site
Good and not so good parts-
Beautiful property comprised of a few different rentable spaces and cabin. Quiet, well maintained, and great location for activities like Rainier and Alder Lake. The Alder Grove tent was spacious and clean.
We rented the Alder Grove spot and my parents rented the Garden Party RV site. Unfortunately the property was double booked (which apparently shouldn't happen) and an additional guest stayed at the cabin. This led to additional restrictions the host did not previously mention. We were initially told to use the space as we liked until we were then asked to relocate tents and camp chairs. We rearranged chairs and cooking table onto the gravel area as requested in order to keep the grass available to other guests. We were charged for additional vehicles and 2 additional tents although the Garden Party RV site specifies it sleeps 6 people. Extra costs for additional cars is to promote carpooling, however this wasn't an option for our group as we came from different states. Pricing of firewood was also unclear. Costs were not transparent, which was disappointing after having spent nearly 400$ for the trip.

It was an ok experience. The creek was nice and the kids enjoyed it. The porta potty was clean as stated. What really didn’t work is that the host’s listing doesn’t list the extra costs. I was told that 6 people were allowed and that any more than that costs extra. Great, I paid for the extra people and the extra vehicle. She did not have the selection for extra people so I was told to choose something that costed the same. Day 2 on her property she asked me to venmo her $70 because any people over 4 needed to be paid for. Previous communication was forgotten about. Also, on the listing it does not say that wood is $8 a piece nor does it say that on the property where the wood is located. They actually put wood in your spot before you arrive. But I was then told that wood costed $8 a piece and should venmo that as well. Luckily, we only used wood we brought. All this to say, the listing needs to be more specific and list ALL of the extra costs. I would not agree to “let’s just figure this out later and venmo” only to find out that there was serious miscommunication. Make sure it’s all ironed out on the listing before booking.

I seriously can't recommend this spot enough! Margot gave us the warmest welcome and was a delight to interact with over the course of our stay. Her property is a beautiful oasis of butterflies and beautiful native plants throughout the area. We stayed at the RV site but had no problem setting up our tent in a nice grassy area. If you've done any kind of dispersed camping then this will feel like glamping no matter which site you use. A flushing toilet?? Absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I stayed here with his 8 year old son and we had so much fun exploring the river, which was very safe and full of all kinds of cool wildlife that his son was excited to see in person. This is the perfect getaway if you want to go out and enjoy nature but don't want to necessarily "rough it". Also, I am an absolute magnet for mosquitos and Margot said that this year was the worst their mosquitos have been but it wasn't bad at all for someone who is regularly attacked by mosquitos the minute I step outside. With the help of a mosquito repeller that Margot let us test out I came out with only two bites! Usually I'm covered in 10+ by the end of every camping trip. We will definitely be back and I encourage everyone to take a break from life and come out here to truly relax!

We had a wonderful time at Margot’s! The creek was so fun to hang out at, and we had an entire day to ourselves, despite the two other sites being booked. Plenty of space to spread out! The meadows were spacious enough for our two tents and offered shade, in areas, during the day. Margot’s garden of wildflowers was especially nice!
My only word of advice is the neighbors cats. Put up all food and dishes or you may have a visitor. We took precautions on night two and had no problems.
Margot keeps plenty of wood and eggs, although we didn’t need any this trip. She also keeps her camp clean and is around should you need anything.
Highly recommend and will be back!

Garden Party RV Site
Margot's little place is just amazing, full of small details to make you feel special. Very calm and close to Elbe if you are up for Ice cream, pizza in the Train car, or even a ride through the woods in the steam train and close to Mineral, that if you are lucky might win some good meat at the local meat raffle.
Margot with her kindness, the very old dog and the super friendly chickens are a plus to the stay, we enjoyed every day and would definitely visit again

It was nice and peaceful on the property. We camped at the Upper Meadow site and we were the only ones camping at the time. The kids loved walking in the creek trying to find cool rocks. Margot has some chickens and a sweet dog that comes and says “hi” every once in a while. It was a fun time!

We loved our stay here! Margot was an amazing host and so welcoming. The location was so magical with a quiet site and a small path leading to a creek our kids and puppy loved playing in. It’s a quick drive to the park entrance and only about a 10 min drive to Elbe, which offers a few restaurant options and a fun market with coffee and ice cream. We are looking forward to come back soon!
