River Rock Meadows
Everything you want in camping!
What a fantastic little hideaway, not far from home and not far from civilization. This stay was more than we expected (thank you host, Christina!!) We came in with a group and reserved all 3 spots. Each was roomy enough separately, but next to each other. Plenty of room for trailers and parking. From the parking area there is a path through the woods down to the river - cleared away for hammocks, tables, chairs, and fire pit. Easy access down to the water (rocky river area, sandy beach area above). Lots of shade trees as well. We came at the perfect time of no ticks and very little mosquitoes. New potable water hookup was greatly appreciated. Fished, hiked, swam, sat, relaxed, and enjoyed every minute of this beautiful place. HIGHLY recommend!!!

It was beautiful by the river. Cute little goats across the campsite too. A few kids riding 4 wheelers and dirt bikes a bit much while we were trying to enjoy family time but they were pleasant. They left us fire wood and bug spray (which was much needed as there was a lot of standing water under the bridge to the river.) Two hammocks and a big fire pit with chairs was a great place to enjoy the fresh air and stars at night. . My kids loved the fishing!

Rivers, Campfires, & Sweeping Views
River Rock Meadows was very pretty with wonderful views, a picturesque farm, and the very fun, awesome river. The three campsites are lined up in a row. We stayed at Campsite #3 which had plenty of shade. It had the best access to the Port-A-John and the river. The Port-A-John was clean and acceptable for the amount of folks camping. All three sites were booked and there was a small family at one site. There was wood but not a lot. I'd definitely recommend bringing your own. Our neighbors at Campsite #2 had plenty that they brought to share which saved us. The river was just lovely. Some people complain about the lighting to the river, this is why you pack a flashlight or a lantern. We didn't use the river as much as we wanted but I noticed that the children at the other campsite did. The spigot was a bit away behind the goat pen and in another pasture. But it wasn't a big deal. It was cold, fresh, sweet well water. I never heard dogs barking. I brought mine. The campers next to us had theirs. And the hosts had their two at large. All dogs got along. No one was barking. The wind was strong. Bring your tent stakes but it wasn't a problem. I enjoyed the breeze when it was hot out and it was soothing to go to sleep too. Everyone complains about mosquitoes but I didn't get one bite. I used my own repellent and reapplied frequently. I even sprayed my clothing to keep them at bay. I just used whatever repellent Costco is selling, nothing special but it was an aerosol spray. We'd definitely come back here! We used it as home base to go wine tasting. It'd be great fun to bring kids or fill up all three campsites with friends and family. It was relaxing, quiet, beautiful, peaceful and just lovely!

It was fun. Lots of privacy, not a lot of surrounding campers, access to the river, animals were a nice bonus for the kids, hosts were very nice and accommodating.

Beautiful but buggy...
The host is incredible - professional, welcoming, informative, responsive and thoughtful. The property is gorgeous, and fun for kids - campsites and common area near the river were well-appointed for a relatively primitive site. Very clean portable toilet, fresh water a short walk around the animal pen. My 5yo twin boys were in love with Christina's dogs Daisy and Maple, who were both gentle and friendly. Daisy visited often to have sticks thrown for her in the river; I'm sure Christina would keep her up at the house for anyone not interested in canine company. The boys also watched the goats and sheep in their pens, ~50 feet from our campsites (zero farm odors!). The only downside to our experience was the mosquitoes, which were pretty terrible. Christina proactively warned us ahead of time that the weather had been unseasonably cool and the bugs were still bad - she also provided a large basket chock-full of bug sprays. We were soaked in DEET the whole weekend and still came home very itchy. If we were to come back, we'd book much later in the season to ensure the bugs were gone.

It was a, wouldn't camp here again.
Bummer only one family fits at the "hot spot." Most or the mosquito repellant was out. Was very kind of them to provide it and the fire wood. 1 bathroom for 3 sites didnt seem like enough. It Was very dark, none of the boards on the bridge were nailed now. none of the night lights they had laying around to help you see seemed to work. well other the the bathroom one. It Was a very hard place to find, i feel they need a sign across the road saying gamping something me and our whole group were so lost. P.s. mosquitoes are no joke there bring pants and extra repellent. Also had to get up at 4a.m. to run a dog off the continued to bark for 10/15 min straight. Some dogs in the owners pasture. Buuuut!! They do have an amazing brewery up the road. Thats where we spent most our time since a family that had the other 2 sites were at the water spot. The brewery has amazing pizza, ice cream wagon, kids can run around and its also dog friendly!
