Rainier Hideaway

One of the closest spots you can get before being in the national park! Yes there is some road noise but totally worth it for the shorter drive in the morning for us! Loved the restaurant as well!

Overall, it was a great place to crash. As other reviews stated, it's very close to the park (which is great!), but road noise to be expected. Site #1 is furthest back. I was assured the water from those was potable, though it smelled/tasted pretty weird... and I'm someone who drinks tap just about anywhere. I think I interacted with the person at the restaurant who runs the site, and it wasn't the most welcoming interaction, but overall, I'd stay here again because it was convenient, affordable, and safe.

Great spot really close to the paradise section of the mountain. Very clean. Very simple spot, space for 1-2 tents, table and fire pit. The campsites are a bit close together and right off a busy road so if your a light sleeper it might bother you. But we had no issues with it. Porta potty available, no toilet paper or hand soap so come prepared. Potable water via a hose is available which made it easy to wash hands and clean dishes. Firewood was available to purchase next door at the wild berry restaurant. TIP: Make sure to save the directions or download the map. Once you are in the mountain there’s little to no service and that made it a bit difficult to find the campground. If coming from ashford It’s a small lot to the right of the wild berry restaurant. Would definitely stay here again ☺️

This camp is close to Rainer, which is why I stayed here. Site #4 is close to the road, which I didn't realize was going to be as busy as it was. Traffic started getting heavy at about 6am and was still fairly busy at 10pm. Since there was no one else staying when I was there the owner was accommodating to let me set up in a different site. There isn't much for amenities since the lot is small, but the sites are adequate, each has a fire ring and picnic table with space for a tent or maybe small camper. Which is fine if you're spending most of the day at the park. I had my kids and when they were tired of hiking I didn't really know where to go since there is nothing to do at the camp. There is a water faucet attached to the fence, and a porta-pot, and trash can, but no sink or hot water so plan around that if cooking. I was surprised for being at the base of Rainer that there isn't any real view of the mountain, but that's mostly because the lot and across the street are wooded, which is nice

The sound of cars is a bit loud so wear earplugs and currently there is a fire ban unfortunately but they do provide firewood if the ban is lifted. Best location close to the entrance of the park!

This site is super close to the park! We had 2 tents and 2 cars and had plenty of room. There are also restaurants & gas stations super close by which was convenient.

Overpriced. Tiny spaces next to road and fence . I believe the owner also owns the restaurant next door which is quite good Himalayan and recomended. The restaurant was very busy, but the site was empty except for me and there’s a good reason why. If they just put in a nice shower and toilet for those four spots, they could fill them easily. It was peak season and with amenities the spots would fill being close to the entrance of Mount Rainier Park

Simple site with everything needed for a place to camp, and about as close as you can get to Rainier without camping inside the park. Honey bucket was clean. I also had an issue with something on hipcamp and reached out to the host and he was a cool guy who responded quickly and helped resolve it.

The location was fantastic for anyone wanting to spend time near Reinier, however the campsites were not very private. The site did what it needed to do; give us a safe space to camp overnight, but there’s very little space or landscaping between sites so you are very close to other campers. Site one looked the most private since it’s at the end of the driveway. Having a toilet on site was very handy. Overall, a great spot to rest your head, but maybe not the ideal spot if you’re wanting to hang out at camp for the day.

Location is great because at the entrance of mount Rainier national park. It's on the side of the road though. We were at the back so we were not too bothered by the noise. It was memorial Day weekend and all visitors used the porta potty which was full and pretty gross :/

I felt that the location was good being close to the park. However, being right off the main road it was loud with the traffic. Also, for no amenities other than a Porta potty I felt the price was extremely high given the space, privacy, and no view of anything other than the back of the restaurant and a fence.

Pros: campground is a mile away from the Nisqually entrance, clean porta-potty, easy to find. Cons: It is a bit small. There are 4 spaces, and luckily we were the only ones there for nearly our entire stay, but I cannot imagine how cramped it would feel if all 4 sites were full at the same time. Would be cool to book all 4 sites for a large group though. Overall, we had a great experience. I would say that if you plan to spend a lot of time at camp, it may not be for you. We got really lucky to be alone almost the whole time, and we were in the park a lot anyway. If you're planning to be out adventuring, then this may be perfect. Just depends on what your trip is about.

Incredibly convenient to the park. The portapotty was clean and there was running water. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays so we didn’t see anyone during our quick stay. Expensive for the amenities provided.

Very convenient spot for camping close to the mountain. The location allowed us to do a morning hike to see the sunrise and then came back to take a Power Nap and go back hiking. The potty was in good condition. Definitely any privacy from other sites, but we already knew what to expect

I loved camping on this property. It had everything we could ask for and it was only a mile from the park entrance. With the restaurant right next door it added so much to our stay! We would definitely recommend and we will be back! Thanks Dawa!
