The set up was lovely! We checked in at the office to get our welcome packet, drove up to the campsite and unloaded, then set up and enjoyed the peaceful grove! The barn is absolutely lovely, great coffee and great breakfast sandwiches. There was music one night we were there but it wasn’t too loud for those of us not attending. Would definitely recommend!

This place is fantastic! Pygmy goats, tons of fruit trees, great camping locations, live music, fresh oyster food truck and the cafe was open more coffee and a tasty quick breakfast. The owners were really nice.

Alder Grove Dispersed Tent Camping
This is a great space for community style camping on a beautiful property. The area for dispersed camping is spacious for many groups but the proximity is closer quarters than expected. Additionally, the event space is very nice but was loud until just past quiet hours which took away from the experience.

Really loved camping here! It was great to get coffee in the morning and the land was very easy to navigate. Will definitely need to come back here for the live music or a cabin stay in the winter.

Alder Grove Dispersed Tent Camping
We had a wonderful time camping here and attending the Bluegrass festival! There were only a few other campers, less than 10 total so we all had plenty of space. They provide bathrooms and drinking water which was also super nice. If you book this camp site through Hipcamp than you don't need to pay for camping/parking through the venue so that made it a convenient option.

This was such an amazing stop on my way up the peninsula and I’ll definitely be back! Very peaceful camping under the alders. I was so excited that the cafe was open before I left for breakfast and really good coffee. I really love what they’re doing with this spot! Just note if you’re camping you’ll need to park your car separately from your site.

Great spot more suited for music festivals so expect to be close to your neighbors and some live music which we were excited to enjoy! There’s lots of room to roam. Barn has breakfast sandwiches and coffee. I appreciated walking the property and watching the goats hangout around our dogs

I have visited Quilcene Lantern with my daughter. We put our tent under the trees. the spot was perfect. We have spent the evening reading books in a comfortable Adirondack chairs in the garden. Very nice. The café was open in the morning. great cappuccino and nice music (thanks Willem!).

It’s a big place with lots of privacy. The hosts are very responsive and welcoming. If you forget something definitely check out Quilcene Grocery.

Wonderful environment & super quiet
Overall we had a great experience! Stayed a second night unplanned because we enjoyed it so much. The hosts are super accommodating and very nice! They even opened up the bar in the evening for us on an off night upon our request. Our favorite drinks were local Finn River Black Currant Cider (bottled) and the sparkling red wine from Italy (canned). Also loved the entire environment.
Only wish is that the food and drinks offered weren’t so expensive, but it makes sense for being a music venue on the weekends. I didn’t get to try the coffee as I don’t drink straight espresso and the only flavors available are hazelnut and vanilla, no sugar free options. That’s okay! Fits the small town theme! The breakie sammies, there are 3 options: egg n cheese, pork patty egg n cheese, and vegetarian patty egg n cheese. We tried both of the patty options. They are wonderful! The favorite was the veggie patty Sammie!
The hammock area and gardens were so beautiful! And the views of the mountains were so amazing. Walking the property was so serene. I’d even say this place could be a bit romantic.
We lost our wallet after breakfast and spent the whole day hiking. The host was so nice in trying to help us find it.
I wonder how the 4 cabins are on the property. Might rent one out for the music festival coming up. I will definitely be staying here again. ❤️

Goats and live music! What else can I say? The camping site had plenty of room and loading I'm and out was a breeze. We saw some fantastic musicians playing in the barn and are already excited about coming back!

This land has a wonderful energy and peacefulness. Sleeping among the gentle alders in the grove was really lovely. It is quiet and secluded with easy access to portable toilet and water from a pump/faucet. Cool in the heat of summer sunshine on the July night I spent there. I will certainly be back, especially for live music in the amazing barn at the Quilcene Lantern!

The land is enchanting and the hosts were kind and responsive and down to earth. We felt like we were totally welcome. Very family-like. It almost felt like a summer camp vibe. We were lucky because we were the only campers for the first part of our trip. Also I'm obsessed with Butter and Bean, the Pygmy Goats that come with the land, and my 5 year old loved seeing the two cats, Crab and Apple 🥰

This place is incredible!! The alder grove dispersed site was perfect for our tents and hammocks, and had super cute goats nearby. The barn is also gorgeous and we will 100% be back for some live music! Laurie was a super welcoming host :)

This was an amazing find! Thank you Quilcene Lantern folks for making my first solo camp trip special!! Only 40ish miles from Seattle, by Bainbridge Ferry. Really easy to find, and the property is well marked. The welcome brochure was a special touch. I went on a weekday, and it's not yet summer so it was quieter, which i didn't mind. I saw Laurie, one of the hosts and we had a nice chat. Everyone is so friendly. They all waved hello when walking by. And they have goats and a couple barn cats! They are both very friendly. 20 bucks for such a great spot is a steal. It's also only a 8-10 minute drive to QFC if you need to pick up anything. I plan to come back with my boyfriend and friends to see the music on the weekends!

I found the property to be very peaceful. And, due to them having some mild construction around putting in new septic, I was given my choice of camping in the aldergrove or out in the field. Field. I chose the field, and I got two and pretty much enjoy it alone for the whole time. My French Bulldog really had fun, it was a nice, easy place to walk around and be at peace. They do have a lovely old Barn where they host live music and have snacks and pizza available. And they also do coffee, etc in the mornings. Excellent trip and I will recommend it to friends

We camped here for one night after catching a show at the event barn. Such a fun evening! The farm and barn are such a beautiful setting and the family that runs it are also lovely. We look forward to more camping and live music here this summer!

OMG! Discovering Quilcene Lantern was amazing and we will definitely be back! We stayed in our campervan at the Tarboo Creek site. It was private and roomy enough for us and our friends who slept in a tent. We enjoyed this quiet space to cook, chill-out and sit around our own fire-ring in the evening. By day we walked the grounds including the trail to the equine cemetery, ventured to the barn for happy hour and our group also went for coffee and breakfast offerings. Laurie, Steve and their family are extremely welcoming and love to share their stories about coming to have this beautiful property and their vision for the future there. Bonus - there was live music by The Faux Paws and later a line-dancing class that was over the top fun! Did I mention the goats that are part of the farm and who charmed everyone?!
This Hipcamp is close to downtown Quilcene and Chimicum's Finnriver Farm & Cidery. Both locations worth some time to explore.

Absolutely stunning and peaceful campsite just moments from one of the most fun music and event venues in the area. Admittedly we were not the most “peaceful” campers but we had a blast and were very appreciative of the space.

We loved staying on Laurie’s land. Laurie was amazing and gave us an awesome tour of the property where we saw the most adorable little goats! Would absolutely recommend staying here on this beautiful property!

Although we only had one night to spend at the Tarboo Creek site, it was a wonderful night!. Campfire, stars, and the sound of the creek running all night. We will definitely be back.

The Lantern land is beautiful and secluded feeling. I was the only camper among the grove of alders and felt very much in my own space. The nearby adorable goats were a bonus. I was there to hear music in their barn, and that space is already magical, and clearly will only become more so as they perfect it. Loved my stay
