Nine Mile Adventures- Marrowstone is located at the end of an intentionally underdeveloped short plat. We became stewards in 98' at the ripe age of 21. Anything done or added to the land and setting was by our hand. Including the few small clearings of selectively cut trees to hand pouring and hauling water for mixing cement via our backs. We sure do hope we are doing her right! our plan? to leave as much untouched as possible. The property is made up of over 5 acres and is heavily treed with Grand Firs, large Western Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Doug Fir, and many other native shrubs including edible berries such as huckleberry, salal berry, salmon berry. Micologists (mushroom hunters) are sure to find the treasure they seek growing fruitfully in these forests. Come forest bathe (literally) in our private charcoal fired soaking tubs. Self serve wooden tubs powered via flame come to temp in 2-3 hrs with proper tending. Camp 9Mile-Marrowstone is an off grid nature experience. Neighbors live symbiotically with the land, many are without electricity or city water as guests will experience as well. Stop by our seasonal farmstand located along driveway in the. Forgot something? we got you! Firewood, Charcoal, Butane, Propane, S'mores Kits, 9 Mile Merch etc all on offer inside a '71 VW BUS, Cruise by the "town" of Nordland which proudly boasts the iconic Nordland General Store, a definite nostalgic fun stop. If you have time park and take a stroll down the dock. Shower a day person? Fort Flaggler is your place (5 min. drive up the island-North) has full service public restrooms, complete with showers (bring some quarters) and flushing toilets, a wonderful trail system worth exploring and not a bad view of the straits including Port Townsend. If Laundry is something you find yourself needing, Port Hadlock has a fine one, situated next door to the QFC market. Throw in a load and head across the street to the "Valley Tav" for the best veggie burgers around! no joke.

We recommend booking 9Mile's Eco house if you want a superbly located, "green" experience moreover than just a place to sleep. Many liken the Eco House to "camping with comfy furniture". SLEEP INSIDE *Climb the STEEP ladder to the loft where a full size bed with linens awaits *Living room sofabed converts into a fullsize bed with linens stored underneath SLEEP OUTSIDE *Full size bed sheltered inside the sleeping hut *Twin size swing bed on the covered porch * Please let me know in advance if you will be using ALL beds (5 people max/additional fees will apply) so I can assure comfy linens are present for all during your stay. The camper, Bertha is quite small. Even with just one person (and two medium dogs) it was a little too cramped for me. But every other site I would highly recommend! I have camped here 3 years in a row and love coming back every time! The tents are spacious and lovely, the area is private, and though I didn't get to try them, the new tubs are so cool!

It’s a delight, seriously. It was chilly and the wood stove kept me pretty warm and toasty. I’m not good with charcoal so I wasn’t able to get the tub going but I’m certain it’s great. I’ll definitely be back come the summer! It was quiet, the restroom area is super cute, basically I would like to live there forever.

We booked the tent, but Sarah kindly put us in the cabin since it was so chilly. So I can’t review the tent (but it looks adorable!!), but I can say that we loved the cabin and exploring the property. The hot tubs take a while, but the property manager can give you some tips to get it started faster :)

My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED the eco house! I booked it for his birthday and it was so nice we wish we could rent it long term! The hot cedar tub was absolutely dreamy (you do need to work to get it to a good temp, but that was no bother to us). The directions were very clear and Sarah's "helper" was a very nice woman who checked in on us in passing. We will definitely be booking again.

such a special spot! First, the bed and bedding were very nice. The pillows were great and the bed was comfortable. I brought my own extra blankets since it was going to get chilly at night. The little propane heater was a nice touch to run for a little bit before climbing into bed. I loved my stay!

Fall Splendor at its finest

This is such a lovely property, and the perfect way to unplug for a weekend. The home was thoughtfully appointed, whimsical, and not pretentious at all. Fall is a lovely time to forage and play in the woods here….and once you’re done be sure to get the fire going for the deep soaker tub which is also set back in the woods. It is advised to use charcoal. Buy some in town, as it is not provided. It’s such a lovely way to wind down the evening. We chose to bring our own sleeping bags and I’m glad we did. One thing to mention is the neighbor is currently building their home and therefore there was loud construction noise until 7pm, which was a bit irritating. It also began right at 8:30 on Sunday morning. The roosters were a welcomed wake up call and I even had a sweet little momma cat come to join me on the porch for some yoga.. 🐓🐈

Cute little spot! Follow her directions and you will find it! GPS will take you to Garden Club Rd (wrong road) but the Gybe Ho road is road before Garden Club Rd. Fell asleep to owls :) We had a young dog and though the tent is nice and secure, it is not escape proof for a young dog more interested in wandering the forest instead of sleeping on floor. We did not bring a crate for him, and was not allowed on bed (make sense) so had to be a little creative. Well appointment glamping!

We had an incredibly peaceful stay here! The accommodations are cozy and well stocked. While you'll feel as if you're in the middle of nowhere, there is a grocery very close by to stock up on anything you may have forgotten or ran out of during your stay.

This is a fun little place to stay! It was a bit chilly during our visit, as March tends to be cold and damp and the only heat is a small woodstove. Staying there in summer, with a few kiddos, would probably be perfect, as the kids would have the "sleeping tent" and porch swing bed to sleep on outside, which I'm sure they'd love. Do be aware that there really aren't lights, or running water. There is a water dispenser with non-potable water at the kitchen sink (although it could have used a good scrubbing). And the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. Just bring what you want to cook on the 4-burner propane stove!

Quaint, Peaceful Getaway
Off-Grid Eco House + Forest Hot Tub
The Eco House offers a fun getaway from home. The cozy cabin is equipped with excellent bedding, kitchen and cooking supplies, a wood burning stove for heat. There is an inverter that brings in lighting, and Sarah has set up battery-powered lights for the steps to the loft and in the loft itself. It was helpful to bring a well insulated cooler as there is no other way to keep perishables cold. It is also helpful to bring additional water for cooking and drinking. The house is conveniently located 10 minutes from Ft. Flagler, Finn River Cidery, and other beautiful state parks - great for beach combing, biking, hiking, etc. Sarah provided thorough information about check-in and what to expect up-front and was available for questions throughout our stay. Definitely recommend!

Wow this place is such a gem! I stayed 2 nights and only wish I could have stayed longer. It felt very private and peaceful. I enjoyed the luxury of not having to set up a tent and sprawling out on the cozy king size bed. I also loved exploring the island and surrounding area . Sarah really has thought of everything you might need. I hope I can come here again soon!

It was a very cute site, the bed was comfy. There are a few little things that could be improved but I would recommend it to someone else. My main “complaint” (if you can call it that) is that the listing said there was a picnic table, but it was a small bistro table, barely big enough for 2 plates. So there was not much space to prepare meals (or play a game or puzzle), as the “kitchen” space was also small. I would suggest other campers to bring a portable table if they have one.

Cute camp but needs some work

The campsite itself was quaint and somewhat secluded. We could easily hear kids and music playing at some property behind us. We also had read that potable water was available, but when we got there it was non-potable. Did not feel safe washing dishes with it. Especially with 3 dead mice in the bucket underneath it. The tent itself was really cute and had a small table with drinking water and some tea/coffee with sugar/honey and cream. However there were spider webs all over the tent and the bed was very firm. The platform that holds the tent needs redone. The wood is brittle and old and broke under my foot when walking out the tent. The outdoor toilet was very private, but we would recommend tying the bag to the bucket instead of leaving it lose. After 3 uses, it fell into the bucket. We had to leave a day early because we could not continue to sleep on the firm mattress nor continue using the toilet. We realized as we were leaving that there are portapotty's down the road we had missed.

I’d been on a heavy tent-only camping kick leading into this stay and the blend of being outside while having some of the creature comforts (the bed felt great) was perfect. The “store” in the van is very nicely stocked (and a great idea). Coffee / tea selection was also really pleasant. Would return.

We loved camping on Sarah’s land! The site was exceedingly well accessorized - Really thoughtful touches, like coffee and tea, books,, throw pillows and toilet paper in a recycled chocolate ice cream tub.. It felt very secluded to us.

If you have the chance to book this lovely little Eco cabin do it! Charming, peaceful and magic. So many lovely touches. Property is very lush, linens clean and warm, plenty available as well. The gun cabinet turned comforter cabinet is genius. Charming VW store with many handmade items and smore kits. Lots of love goes into all of it.

This was an awesome experience! The tent set up and outdoor kitchen was spectacular. The property is beautiful. It was quiet and relaxing. Just a short drive from Port Townsend, and an awesome bike ride up island and through Fort Flagler! I would highly recommend!

Sarah’s Eco House was quaint and cozy! We really enjoyed the wood stove, big front porch, porch swing day bed, and waking up in the trees! The big sky light in the loft bedroom was amazing! The loft bed and linens were comfy and everything was very clean and there were a variety of amenities, etc. Sarah was friendly and easy with communicating and provided helpful directions and information for our stay.

An amazing lil house! So much detail went into this place. Everything was well thought out! The host was very nice and got back right away if we had any questions. Super close to Finn river ciders, port townsend and Fort flaggler! I definitely would book this place again.

I loved the Eco House! Built entirely of repurposed materials and charm, this shelter was fabulous for a weekend escape. My partner and I grew up in Seattle, and had never made it out to Marrowstone Island, but we quickly fell in love with the new place. Sarah was very communicative, and everything was exactly as described.
