Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
25 years in the making from a cattle ranch and alfalfa pasture to a scenic wildflower and wildlife haven, our farm is a working winery and vineyard. We have reestablished native wildflowers and grasses back into our vineyard in order to help conserve native prairie habitat. 80 percent of our land is oak woodland and is in the process of restoring itself from the aggressive grazing of cattle. Therefore, our farm provides a shelter for deer, turkeys, hawks, and bobcats. We enjoy these animals and give them the space that is due for sharing the land. We do almost all of our work by hand and do not own a tractor or much other farm equipment so our farm is a quiet and relaxed setting. Our property lies in a seasonal creek bottom that is an infrequent source of water in our area. Because of this all of our household water and agriculture is run from a spring and wildlife come from a distance to replenish their thirst.

Rustic spot, beautiful veiws.
Beautiful spot —rustic with a road that needs some work or at least an appropriate vehicle to climb. We did take our truck and small trailer up..so we were fine, but prepare for tight turns and engage your 4 wheel drive.

Rustic dry camping!
This site has great potential! Being from the Willamette Valley I expected green grass and a warm, clean, professional space. What we were met with was a winding road (not long- but I wouldn’t take a car with low clearance or 2 wheel drive up it!) and a dry field. The firetables were rusting propane fire pits occasionally propped up on rocks. The only water is down at the house at the bottom of the hill. And the wine tasting is open from noon-6, but the host was not there during that time to provide the tasting. However- The view is beautiful, and the walk through the grape vines was lovely and sweet, and the location is set a part and wonderfully out of the way. If you’re prepared for rustic dry camping it’s a great spot! The stargazing has great potential and if you bring all of your own gear it would be a fun space for a friends camping trip! All in all there is great potential for this space- just be sure you’re prepared to rough it a bit 😁

Private but no views
We have an RV and only after I reserved camping space did I learn I would be way down the hill from the views mentioned in a small field with long grass and dog poop. There is a compost outhouse but no water or power.

Good spot but some notes
Nice open space, good location for setting out to adventures in the Gorge. Vineyards are a short walk from the campsites and they are lovely! Gorgeous night sky. Tasty eats in nearby towns. We didn’t get to meet the host but the written instructions provided at entrance covered most of what we needed to know. The road coming up is a little hairy in some spots. Thick reedy brush in one spot will scrub your undercarriage, and gravel gives way to loose rock on one of the switchbacks. Ascending the hill in a Jetta was tricky but not impossible. Get your water situation sorted beforehand. The Hipcamp description says there’s potable water available, but we sure couldn’t find any taps! Certain environmental factors, out of the host’s control: wind and hard earth. You will need thick tent stakes and a mallet, lest your tent blows down. I love what the host family has achieved with this space so far. It’s a rare opportunity to stay a rustic night in a small scale vineyard. They prioritize low environmental impact, from compost toilets to wildflower preservation. I look forward to staying again in the future.
