We had a group of 10 (including a toddler) and this was absolutely the perfect spot for all of us! Ed's property is beautiful with lovely little nooks of campgrounds tucked away from each other, so people could get as much privacy as they liked or congregate in common spaces. There are a couple of sites with steep ledges, so we steered clear of those, but found lots of space for our toddler to run free, collecting leaves and sticks. The babbling brook running through the property was my favorite part. And each camp site has a cute little woodburning stove and firepit ring. It is clear that Ed loves his property and loves sharing it -- he is a warm and inviting host. It is a magical place and we plan to make this a regular weekend spot for our family during nice weather!

This piece of property is special and well loved. Ed is a true lover of trees and sweet man who greets you with welcome arms. We had a group of 10 and a couple of dogs. Our sites were well maintained. Our only complaint would be the train noise which should be mentioned because there were many through the night that shortened our stay a night because we all have trouble in the sleep department.

Isla Springs was the perfect pick for our holiday weekend. Ed was a great host who met us at the property entrance and escorted us to his top picks. This property is clearly a labor of love. He’s planted so many trees.
The camp sites were well maintained, all came with a fire pit and a wood stove. Our sites were right on the water. It was great to have river access and be able to see the kids playing.
There is one porta potty that is well maintained (even with fresh flowers), but it’s good to bring your own if you can.
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. No complaints!

This trip was exactly what we hoped for, and more. We were able to find a perfect spot for us. (I have never camped in a state park and don't really care to, having been raised in Montana with a different camping style.)
This was in fact very private, away from people, and I didn't have to worry for a second about my dogs running around. If preferred, you also have the option of picking spots that are closer together, but definitely not too close. These are a shorter walk to the porta potty if that's your style. There is such an incredible variety, really something for everyone.
As stated in previous reviews, Ed is an absolute gem. If you contact him on arrival, he will meet up with you and help to find the perfect spot! He was also willing to run item specific errands which I found to be a very generous offer.
We did end up leaving a night early, but this was simply due to the unusually hot weekend. Our spot was well shaded. The creek was refreshingly cold. The heat was just too much for us.
We will, without a doubt be back. Thanks Ed!

Ed was super friendly, led us to our spot and took the time to chat with us and answer questions. There was plenty of shade and felt private despite the fact that there were other campers on the grounds. The portable facilities were very clean and well kept. Being so close to the creek added fun to our trip.

What an awesome spot. Ed has really built a beautiful spot for camping. We stayed near the river and could hear the river while trying to sleep. The trees in the area are also beautiful. Will be going back soon.

Gorgeous camping spot in view of the creek, clean portapotty, lots of woods with mowed pathways to explore. Host was welcoming and stopped by once on our second day to see if we needed anything.
Equidistant to Portland and Tacoma, we plan to gather here again soon!

This is a beautiful little spot. Ed is kind and endearing. He greeted us himself and got us settled in. We visited in August. The creek and nature scene was thriving. Not dried out like where we live. Would recommend.
The dirt driveway is a bit uneaven--it has hills/curves etc. Thankfully, there are* spaces to turn around, the driveway evens loops in some areas and the driveway does not* reside on the edge of a cliff... these are important factors I learned to consider after a harrowing Hipcamp journey last year. Also a plus, the address I put in lead me to the correct address. (Which is another something that has gone wrong in the past).

This was a gem of a camping spot. Ed is a wonderful host, and he is creating a special place.
Our site had plenty of space for our group of 2 families, which included 2 dogs and 5 little kids. Lots of other campers arrived the day after us, but we barely noticed them. The trees provide privacy and shade, and the sites are spaced apart well.
The creek is great for swimming and hanging out, and was slow and shallow enough for our little ones to enjoy. Wish I would have brought a floatie to relax in!
The camp site had a great vantage point of the area below and the creek, which made it so convenient to keep an eye on the kids as they roamed around. We also enjoyed exploring the land and picking lots of plums.
There is one port-a-potty, which is big and very clean and Ed fills it with fresh flowers. Town is close by, so it was easy to do a supply run. Ed will meet you at the entrance and direct you to your site. Very safe campground.

Great space with lots of beautiful fruit/other trees and flowers growing all around. Spaces have a lot of room to spread out and are well shaded for hot days. Access to creek could be better separated from other camp sites so It doesn’t feel like you are bothering people. The creek was absolutely AMAZING- great spot to lay in water and cool off! Ed the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming; checking in frequently. Biggest opportunity is to add an additional porta potty for when it is busy. We had a wonderful time and will be back.

This was a really great property! The property itself is fantastic-- wild flowers and fruit trees, large camp sites, ample places to roam and explore, cool old wood stove as a fire place at our site and a very kind and welcoming host to show us around! We had a great time! I think we will be back!

We loved tent camping on Ed’s property. He was very friendly and welcoming and clearly cares about the land. The site was nicely shaded, very private from other campers, and had access to the creek. We even got to pick some plums on the way out!

My partner and I loved our time camping on Ed’s land. Our site was shady and fairly private, on a small bluff with a gorgeous view overlooking the river. We saw lots of birds, chipmunks, and a few rabbits while we were there. Although there are fire pits at each site, note that there are no picnic tables, so it’s best to bring your own camp furniture. There is some slight noise from the nearby road and train track that other reviewers have noted, but it’s not intrusive at all, and I consider myself to be sensitive to loud noise. Ed is also a gem of human. He gave us a tour of the property, pointing out an apple tree that was planted by early settlers and showing us some gardening projects he’s working on. He also gifted us a couple of Sequoia seedlings, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. We will absolutely be returning for another trip!

Isla Springs is such a special space! It is very natural, and you really feel like you are camping in nature versus a campground. Aside from having access to a port-o-potty! Ed is incredibly friendly and a wonderful welcoming host. He filled the port o potty with beautiful flowers which was so nice.
We enjoyed swimming, and picking wildflowers, and walking around exploring his magical forest. We were 4 adults, 6 children ages 4-10.
Close to town for necessities and full cell signal.

Very beautiful property. My daughter is thinking about getting married there. I did not get a chance to meet Ed, but my daughters said he was great. The outhouse was pretty full, but the daily flowers helped. The river is very clear and lovely.

Ed is fantastic and my family had an amazing time! He is friendly, funny and very accommodating. Not everybody will agree but the trains are awesome, something nice for the background. The river was really cool, overall a nice place for the family to fish, swim, play and explore!
