The map embedded with the directions you are sent try’s to take you nearly a mile past the campground, the tent sites are a solid 500 yards from the parking area.
The quiet and solitude are amazing and the host is very friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have
If your willing to pack your gear in it is a wonderful spot, but definitely not your classic car camp scenario

The location could have been ok, however we arrived late, and in the dark there was little to no signage once on the property (which we found had fallen over in the morning near the side road). Location looked basically abandoned, tons of bugs, the kitchen looked like it hadn't been used in years, dirty compost toilet with no paper, overgrown path to the toilet, no water and basically no information left anywhere at all for this campsite. We were left to wander to the much much better equipped campsite, which was obviously well thought out, but these are DIFFERENT SITES, so beware.
If you're planning to stay here, only utilize the main Forest Camp, the rest is an afterthought and not worth the money- 50$ a night to stay in a bug infested, poorly thought out "campsite". No thanks.

Great communication from La ahead of the trip. On arrival she stopped by and double checked that all was well. Directions / signage was a little difficult, but we found our way. Location is on a dirt road and deep in a tree forest, so not much of a view immediately, but there are some great views if you go for a hike.

Our favorite stay while on our Pacific Northwest journey. This made our school bus stay dream come true and more. Such a beautiful place and great stay. Don’t miss out on the morning shower in nature. So peaceful.

Lovely setting for a night of tent camping while on a bike tour. Friendly, accommodating host, outdoor shower and kitchen are nice touches. Recommend!

The interior of the bus was super comfy and clean. The trail that connects the land and its points of interest was fantastic, our favorite being the sky temple. Great location for exploring the gorge, we visited Carson hot springs, cedar creeks alpacas, and ended with white water rafting. A great little get away!

White Salmon Magic Bus
This was just what we needed. Cozy and protected from the rain then enjoyed a muddy ride through the beautiful forest the next day. Lots of information on how to respectfully enjoy the land and area. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Super accommodating and fast response even when booking last minute! Good instructions on finding the bus. So fun and unique. Thoughtful with set up and items needed for kitchen/ filtered water, etc. Loved the bath tub and wonderful hot water. Had all the comforts, well decorated, comfortable bedding, great size fridge and kitchen. Warm heater despite being cold outside. Quiet property. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at the Forest Camp Yurt! Enjoyed all of the outdoor space to explore, comfortable firepit seating area, and clean toilets. The yurt was beautiful and a perfect place to sleep after a long day bikepacking in the area. Cheers!

A truly magical experience! The Magic Bus was is an absolute treasure. The hosts were kind and helpful. Follow the directions they give as they are definitely helpful- if you go past the big main house you’ve gone too far. As for the site itself, it was amazing. The bus is big and beautiful. Very spacious and had everything you could need. The bed and bedding was super comfy cozy. There are other buildings nearby on the property but it still felt super private. The property was so pretty with lots of trails to explore. I highly recommend catching a sunset at the sacred peak and the sunrise at the sky temple-both we’re equally breath taking! Or you can stroll down to cedar grove and visit the spring and water running along the trails. There’s plenty of cut stumps to sit on and relax and listen to the water. You will definitely not be disappointed- the whole place had such good energy. Highly recommend♥️🚌✨

Amazing experience. I took my toddler son and it just blew his mind to be camping in a bus! It was such a memorable experience - the bus is very well decorated and organized. Comfortable couch and bed, also includes a bathtub, running water and kitchen! Since its November, I was worried it would be too cold but the two heaters provided in the bus kept us nice and toasty! The step to get into the bus is very steep, so be mindful with little ones - my son took a tumble. But other than that, it was a very safe space for him. The surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful, highly recommend for a nice relaxing getaway, especially for couples. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!
A couple things to note:
1) The roads to get to the Atlan Campgrounds are a bit rustic. I made it with my little Prius but the weather wasn't too bad. If it had been rainy or snowy, I wouldn't have made it. So try to plan and drive with AWD during the rainy winter months.
2) The GPS coordinates are wrong, which they mention in the posting. It will take you past the campground and its hard to turn around, so keep your eyes open for the Atlan Campground sign as you make your way to the site.

The Fairy Nest was a lovely place to stay, and luckily well protected from the heatwave by being in the forest! Margot was there when I needed her. The site itself is quite beautiful and there are amazing hikes nearby. Price was high but best I found.

The bus was amazing! It was very well equipped with a kitchen, cozy bed, hot water shower/bath, and an easy to use composting toilet. The property is amazing and the values of the community are great. I would highly recommend staying there. Good location for getting to plenty of hiking but also being able to go out in hood river or white salmon easily.

We loved our stay at the Magic School Bus! It was such a unique place to stay, and in such a beautiful, peaceful location. As the pictures show, the conversion of the bus into a tiny living space is incredibly done, and it was so fun to see in person, we were just so impressed. There was a full stove and fridge/freezer and kitchen stuffs for cooking a meal, and the bed was cozy and comfy tucked away in the back of the bus. The bus is in the middle of a privately-owned forest of the Atlan Ecovillage, and there are trails to take you around to explore the surrounding area, including a beautiful sunset spot. Margo, from Atlan, was very friendly and quick to respond to all our messages before arrival and helped with the directions get to the location, and was there to meet us at arrival :)
If you're looking for a fun, unique place to stay in a beautiful location with all the amenities you need to cook, shower, sleep, definitely consider a stay at the Magic School Bus!
