The Forest Farmstead yurt is a DREAM. If you like the feel of public cabins/huts - think MTTA huts and WA fire lookouts- this is perfect for you. It was raining almost all weekend so we mostly stayed inside the yurt and played lots of games, cooked hot pot, and celebrated a birthday. When it was sunny, we explored the property, picked fruit from the orchard, said hi to the chickens, and enjoyed the view of golden misty hillsides. The wood stove + ample wood supply kept the yurt toasty warm, as did the electric blankets and lots of linens. The beds were comfy, and we fit 17 total overnight with most people on sleeping pads/bags on the wood floors. The yurt had a broom and vacuum - useful for keeping things tidy as people came in and out in the rain. Lots of drinking water. The composting outhouse had lighting and warm water for handwashing.

The yurt was a great place to stay while we visited the North Cascades this weekend! Centrally located, the yurt offered an elevated camping experience - nestled into the woods on a private farm with plenty of beautiful natural surroundings. The yurt came with everything we needed: a wood stove for heating, a small kitchen area with a sink and water dispenser, a mini fridge & freezer, cookware, utensils, a gas stove, a large dining table, 3 beds with lots of blankets (+heated blankets), and room dividers for changing/privacy. We did not use the media corner but there were plenty of board games and books as well.
The site also came with two parking spots and access to an outhouse with a composting toilet (+ locking door and light) and a bathroom with a hot shower + towels & a sink (also locking + light). This was so convenient after long days of hiking!
The owner was very friendly, we talked with him a couple times. Overall I would recommend this site if you’re looking for an elevated camping experience. We had to keep ourselves warm at night with the wood stove, which added a beautiful ambiance and felt like we were really camping minus the elements. I would recommend bringing some fire starter kits and a lighter. I would also rec bringing your own plates and utensils to avoid doing the dishes at the end. The navigation instructions were accurate and the owners were super responsive to our messages. It was a great experience and we would definitely do it again!

Loved staying in the yurt - the space is humble but comfortable while having everything you need to make a basic meal. The property and surrounding area are beautiful with plenty to keep you busy.

The yurt was so cozy and peaceful! There were a ton of blankets and an electric heater which kept it nice and cozy. An electric kettle for us to make coffee in the morning and a gas stove to cook soup on. The bathroom is a lil composting shed nearby, a very short walk which was really convenient and you get to see amazing views of the nearby mountain. The birdsong and rain noises outside the yurt made for a really relaxing and peaceful time! We would definitely stay again:)

We would recommend it. I was a bit disappointed they didn’t have the hanging separations between the bed areas. I really liked that. They had like those Chinese screen things which don’t really do much for ambience. If they could clean that dome on the top for the light that would be amazing. I mean overall it was a really nice area.

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay inside the yurt! There were 3 couples in our group. Two couples used the queen bed and full bed while the other brought their camping bed and slept on the floor. (The twin bed was just a bit too small for them.) We kept the yurt warm at night with the wood burning stove and the wood that the hosts provided. One of our friends was able to use the gas stove to make broccoli cheese soup for the group. The outhouse was clean with hot running water to wash our hands in. They also provided a hot shower next to the outhouse but our group did not utilize it. We chose the yurt as our base while we rafted the Sauk River. The property had parking for our truck and trailer and another car. During our stay we chatted with other hipcampers and a family that stays on the property. We were able to get up and close with sheep as well. We highly recommend staying here! You don't regret it!

We had such a great time staying at this yurt camp! We came with kids and weren’t sure what to expect, but everything was honestly perfect. The beds were super warm and comfy (huge bonus with kids), and the fire kept the whole space cozy at night. We had access to hot water, a clean compost toilet, and everything we needed in the kitchen—pants and utensils. There was a full propane stove, fresh water, and electricity, plus extra blankets, heated blankets, a heater, fan, lights. It was rainy during our stay, but it ended up being the best kind of camping: dry, cozy, and peaceful inside the yurt while still being surrounded by nature.
It was super quiet and peaceful the whole time, which made it so relaxing. We forgot our French press and coffee filters (oops), but made it work with paper towels and still managed to enjoy our morning coffee! The urinal we saw in a few of the photos was actually gone, but it worked out better for us without it anyway.
The location is also perfect—really close to some amazing state and national parks, so we got to explore, hike, and spend quality time outdoors as a family. Back at the yurt, there were tons of board games, puzzles, and books, which made downtime really fun and chill, especially with the kids.
Everything was well maintained, super clean, and just felt really thoughtful. The hosts were great and made sure we had everything we needed. It was the perfect mix of rustic and comf

We had a great time staying in the Yurt Palace. My husband and I traveled with four of our children age 12-18 and the Yurt had plenty of space for all of us to eat, sleep and hangout. The property was nice and expansive and was great for some flashlight hide and seek. The rope swing gave our kids hours of entertainment and the treehouse was really cool. The onsite host was very responsive and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. The wood stove kept the Yurt very warm and there were plenty of blankets. We would definitely stay here again!!

The Yurt was basic without running water and you needed to walk a bit to get to the toilets on the other side of camp, but we found it relatively clean and cozy. We spent two nights there. It got a little cold as the space heaters couldn't quite keep up at night. But there was a stove for a fire that could have been used to keep the place warmer if you wanted to get up periodically at night to tend it.
There was coffee, which we appreciated, and games and puzzles that the kids enjoyed. Definitely a big step up from tent camping! We would stay again if we were in the area.

Beautiful location. Everything you need and more for a great glamping experience. Unexpected addition of a hot shower was a nice bonus!
Not far to drive to Lake Diablo and the North Cascades National Park Visitor Centre with plenty of trails.
The accommodation is 'rough & ready' so as the hosts say, if you want a hotel finish, this is not the right place for you. If you want camping with a comfy bed, kitchen and all the amenities including fridge/freezer and toaster, then this is perfect!
We were only here one night but wished we could have stayed longer.

Had a great time here, the yurt is very comfortable and homey. There isn't much space around the yurt but had access to plenty of bathrooms and showers. The beds are a life saver when camping and the host was very friendly!

The yurt was in desperate need of repair. Extremely mildewy smelling and everything was damp due to wet, mildewy canvas of yurt even though it was mid summer. Hardly anywhere to park due to overgrown blackberry bushes, unlevel porch and yurt floor. Left early as smell was too overwhelming.

My friends and I would never spend the money to stay here again. We even left early because we were too uncomfortable staying 2 more nights. The owner is not on site and the property manager barely welcomed us and showed us around. I had to go and find him and ask questions in order to get any information. The listing of the Yurt is very different now, so please continue to book with caution. This place has so much potential, but it has been completely neglected. Driving up, you feel like you are at a junkyard. The yurt itself was super hot, so thankfully they had fans running. There were spiders and webs all over and we even had a mouse inside. The fridge doesn’t work, so the property manager brought in an emergency cooler that smelled like mildew but was functional so we were thankful our food wasn’t going to go bad. The “appliances” are barely usable (toaster is super dirty, French press could maybe make half a cup of coffee). There’s clutter everywhere (like an entire stack of plywood just piled adding to the clutter). When I looked behind the counters and stove, there was a bunch of dirty kitchen utensils and something that looked like it was rotting. There is a shower you walk to, and definitely no trail to the river. We thought this place was going to be much nicer than it was. When I reached out to the owner and property manager to let them know we were leaving early because of how uncomfortable we were, nobody responded to rectify the situation.

What a lovely place to stay to visit North Cascades. The yurt is very big and there are clean towels and a hot shower after a nice hike in the park. The site on Hipcamp is not update anymore. The animals are gone and the treehouse is gone but the rest is the same.

I loved staying here! There was a really cozy ambiance in the rainstorms during our stay. I was pleased that there was electricity since I didn’t know whether there would be. Unfortunately, the treehouse was out of order. We did not see our host at all, but were well taken care of. There was enough water and firewood, as well as a nice bathhouse and outhouse only a quick jog away. There were about 6-7 adult sized sleeping spots, and that worked well for our group. The beds were really cozy and most of our group slept in each day. I liked being able to see the sky at night through the little window on the roof, which did leak, but hardly enough to be any problem, maybe a few drops, and most stuck to the wall and dried without issue. It’s different from the photos online. I think some are from 2017. There’s no urinal anymore, for starters. There were lots of cobwebs, but they were abandoned and weren’t bothering anyone. The door hates to stay closed and irked me to no end as I’d hear it click open when I’d walk away. However, the stove was so nice and the firewood was nicely seasoned and caught fire quickly. It reminded me of my wood stove at home. Overall, a really great stay especially considering the unsavory weather.

Yurt life is amazing. The outhouse was very nice with hot water to wash your hands. We made homemade pizzas and went on the walk around the property and down to the river. We even got a visit from a friendly cat. Despite it raining the night we stayed we really enjoyed the coziness of the space.

The treehouse was pretty neat, though I’m not sure if the self-lifting part worked. I followed the instructions, but didn’t have any luck, and the hosts didn’t respond to my message about it, nor did they respond to another message I sent asking which water was potable. I did fit in the treehouse diagonally, and there was a mosquito net, though a bit awkward to use from that position. The cat on the site was sweet.

I loved the concept of the treehouse and how you could hoist yourself up into the trees. The treehouse had complete privacy from the hosts house and other hipcampers. Terry was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The shower house and compostable toilet were great features.

We loved the treehouse. It was perfect for camping in the Pacific Northwest, as it was a great shelter for when it rained—much better than a tent! We LOVED the farm animals—when we were there, there was a young chicken family, a beautiful cow, some very friendly cats, and a herd of goats. Plus an outdoor kitchen and a shower on the way, I believe!

Sleeping in a floating treehouse was definitely a very unique "outdoor experience"!
The site fit our very specific needs for that night--a as a quick overnight stop close to the North Cascades Wilderness Info Center--but... the site didn't have much room for a tent, or a stove, or a firepit--so if you're looking for a prolonged "camping" experience, then you may want to look elsewhere.
