🦩 Flamingo Ridge 🦩

As a solo female RVer, I’m always looking for a safe spot to park and this private land tucked back in the woods was perfect for a three day stay on Whidbey. The bonus access to a kitchen, indoor bathroom and shower was great! Ryan, the host when I was there, was very friendly and helpful. And having the house lights on when I arrived (much later than I planned and after dark!) was most helpful to be able to quickly get the RV settled for the first night. I couldn’t quite find a level spot, but had I spent a bit more time and worked with my tire blocks I’m sure I could have figured it out. The turnaround was tight but doable with a 19 ft trailer and a 15 ft SUV but some longer rigs might have to do some fancy turns to get out. Overall, great value! Thanks for hosting on Hipcamp!

Peaceful Forest Stay

I stayed one night at Flamingo Ridge to organize my gear and prep for future car camping trips—and it was just what I needed. As an older woman traveling solo, I appreciated the quiet woods and the sense of safety and welcome. Ryan, my host, was incredibly helpful. The parking area was a bit uneven for my car “Sparky,” but he patiently helped me find the best spot. I was also greeted by Wendy and Peter—two exuberant German poodle puppies who added a delightful touch of joy to the experience. There’s a communal kitchen and bathroom, both clean and functional, with clear rules and information posted near the entrance. It’s not fancy, but it’s well thought out and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to reset, test your gear, or just enjoy the forest (with a few tail wags thrown in), Flamingo Ridge is a great choice. I left feeling more prepared and more relaxed than when I arrived.

Overall great experience. Conveniently located on the island. Amazing forested area to setup our tent in. Laurenthia was very welcoming and generous in allowing us to use her bathroom and kitchen. We also appreciated the communal fire pit with supply of firewood.

Great place to stay, I would love to have explored the grounds but maybe next time I’m in the area. Hostess was excellent and welcoming and the shower and kitchen facilities are great.

I had very restful nights at Flamingo Ridge And the hostess was excellent. It was wonderful to have use of the kitchen and bathroom. I didn’t explore as much as I would’ve liked as I had too much work going on but I would go back in a heartbeat.

Magical Meadow - Tent Campsite 2🏕️

Laurenthia is a great host, very welcoming and inclusive with all her guests. There are several different ways to camp at Flamingo Ridge and my stay there was very comfortable. I will certainly check back with Laurenthia the next time I'm in the area and highly recommend Flamingo Ridge as a quiet, beautiful, friendly place to camp.

It was the perfect place to wind down after a full day of traveling, my tent was already set up with a bed ,all I had to do was relax ! Having access to a hot shower in the morning made that days traveling worthwhile! Thanks for sharing your home 🦩

Large Size Vehicle Campsite 🚗🚙

Wow! While I have been camping on private property in a tent or RV for the last 13 years, this was my first time using HipCamp. Laurenthia this was amazing! She was incredibly friendly and gracious! She will bend over backwards to make your stay wonderful! I will definitely be back in the near future!

Magical Meadow - Tent Campsite 3🏕️

We rented a vehicle site and a camping site. We ended up setting a tent up instead of camping in the vehicle spot. The spot is in the drive way of the house and is very close to the bathroom! If you just want to sleep in your car for the night, it would be perfect!

Great spot in the middle of the woods! Super quiet and chill, an excellent getaway location. Laurenthia (hope I spelled that right!) is an excellent host and the house has all those creature comforts like a hot shower and full functioning bathroom and kitchen too! Highly recommend!

The Magical Meadow #4

Flamingo Ridge was a unique place to camp. Our host Laurenthia was very accommodating! You can be as social or secluded as you would like. We enjoyed staying a The Magical Meadow #4. If the occasion arises for us to stay in Freeland this will be one of our top choices.

Laurenthia is an extremely hard working, accommodating host. Her property is beautiful and there are a variety of options depending on what you're looking for. We were her first hipcampers, and it is still in the process of becoming, but we spent a few great nights and were able to get everything we needed there. Definitely suggest you check it out. Great spot on the island too.

Lovely Place for an adventure

We loved camping here! Directions were clear and our host was accommodating. We loved our campsite and little lights made the campsite feel so safe. We went on a couple of little hikes on the property and things were well marked. This place truly nailed the Fern Gully vibe!

We had a great experience staying at Flamingo’s. We booked the same day and weren’t sure what to expect. Very soon after booking the host was in touch via text to welcome us and answer our questions, make sure we were all set with whatever we might need, and even encouraged us to enjoy fresh berries from the property. Highly recommend. Thank you!
