The folks at Elkenmyst are sooo sweet and we had such a special time on their land. Was super chill and friendly. wonderful people. Will be returning with enthusiasm!

Beautiful, quiet and private, even with the Yurt nearby in use the sites are well separated, the babbling creek nearby provides a calming background along with the birds and animals nearby. Hiking around the property is a great time, lots of interesting projects going on. Nearby to Vista Park, Cathlamet not too far away either and loads of hiking nearby. Overall would stay again, highly recommended!

I felt very safe! The shower was awesome and the property is gorgeous. Everyone there was amazing and even helped with my tire this morning. 10/10 would camp again!
Rustic yurt camping at Elkenmist was very relaxing and enjoyable. Having the outdoor kitchen and hot shower were awesome amenities. We stayed in May of 2026 and at that time, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. There was a refrigerator and two gas stoves, one with an oven that I couldn’t get lit, a sink with hot and cold water, and lots of tables and chairs.
Getting to the property was super easy and the directions that came with the reservation directed us right to the yurt. There was a campsite fairly close but we are not opposed to having neighbors.
Overall it was a fun and relaxing trip.
We loved staying in the yurt, the accommodations were simple and perfect, a great place to unwind and unplug! I saw some reviews before we came that made me a bit nervous, but after experiencing the place myself I had to share the positives. Before booking take a moment to READ DEN’S DESCRIPTION fully so you know what to expect and how to prepare appropriately!
The composting toilets were clean and pleasant, and the shower gets so wonderfully warm! The wood mat on the floor keeps everything clean too.
The kitchen is a real plus, basically an industrial kitchen setup in a rustic hobbit worthy setting. It rained on our last morning there and listening to the rain while sitting under the metal roof was as idyllic and picturesque as it gets.
We also appreciated talking to Max about the farming side of things, and his help restocking the propane!
We are already planning a return trip with friends 💜
My family, and I loved our stay here, and felt at home. We were welcomed by two fellas working there. Max, and forgot the other persons name working on the truck. They were very helpful with any questions we had. Our campsite was in a perfect spot very close to bathrooms, and kitchen but separate enough to feel private. We loved exploring the property, and getting to meet the sheep. There were so many neat areas we found that are perfect for camping/relaxing. The creek was fun for the kids to explore and find animal prints! Pretty sure we id’ed raccoon, otter, and possibly a fisher or weasel print. The kitchen was really nice, and had everything we needed to make our meals. Loved being able to use the fridge over a cooler while camping. The water gets hot so the shower was such a nice experience. We hope to come back this summer and explore the area a bit more. If you’re looking to explore along the gorge, pop over to Oregon for a day, or the SW coastline of Washington this place is truly an amazing base camp.

This was an absolutely incredible experience. My partner and I had a wonderful time, everyone was so kind and we were lucky enough to have the sheep right near the yurt. The land is gorgeous with plenty of areas to walk around and explore. Absolutely would go back again.
Amazing!!! I loved it. Cool area, like seriously beautiful. I got to play with sheep!!! And walk around an amazing place. And nice shared kitchen and a shower with HOT WATER! :D host and people who work there were very friendly yay!

The yurt was super lovely. Den greeted us warmly and we had a cozy time with the rain pitter pattering on the yurt roof and awoke to sunshine. The only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! The land is beautiful and I will definitely return to explore. Thank you!

Most magical place in the world. Den is a wonderful host and it is a treat to get to stay here.
The yurt was a perfect way to winter camp and stay semi-warm in the process. The sauna was restorative and the showers had somewhat warm water (better than freezing!) Lots of woods/trails to explore. Saw some elk roaming on our last mornigng there. Will definitely be coming back when its warmer!

Enchanted Yurt Retreat
Cannot recommend enough, a really magical place. The yurt was kept warm with the wood burning stove and the sauna was an absolute treat. We loved talking to all the folks at the farm, can't wait to go back!

The farm is lovely, and the yurt is nice. Overall, there are improvements that need to be made to justify the price of this yurt (with hipcamp fees, we paid $100/night). There was no communication on the listing about what we needed to bring, other than the host telling us to bring bedding, but we needed much more. There wasn't even a lighter or matches for the wood stove to hear the yurt. The outdoor kitchen was nice, but there were very few pots to actually cook with, and no strainer for pasta, the most basic camping meal. It would have also been nice to know how far it was from the yurt, we may have brought a cooler to keep some things with us and not have to trek through the rain to the kitchen. There was no information posted anywhere and no walk through, so we just had to find the kitchen surge protector in the dark to turn the lights on, know how the composting toilet worked, etc. The yurt is very large, so there's plenty of room for a table and some seating, but none of that is in there.
Overall, the yurt is a great idea, but if they want it to be this rustic and hands off, they can't charge quite so much. Or just make a few adjustments so that guests can have a relaxing experience.
Frankly speaking. this was one of the best camping trips we ever had. Booked it at a very last minute and upon getting there, while rather basic, the whole experience just blew us away. Such a peaceful and tranquil place! The mornings were surreal, no car noises, no airplanes, just birds and nothing else! Furthermore, to my surprise our kids were spending hours around sheep and never mentioned they were bored (WIFI is only available in around the outdoor kitchen) and we didn’t have a reception, which was great, a true gadget detox 🙂. Once again this was a great experience and we can’t wait to get back there!
Den made spending my 43rd here pretty smooth and carefree. The wood burning sauna, which he built (!!!!!), was amazing and it was just nice being natural and free ^_^ he also built the yurt, which was cool. Loved the outdoor kitchen, too. Tons of berries to eat everywhere. Will try to visit again!
Had a great time staying at the Yurt! The compostimg toilets were extra clean. The land and location was beautiful. We did the farm tour and got to see how they sustain themselves, which was awesome to see. Brought 2 toddlers who had fun running on the land and eating blueberries.

Camping here was amazing!! The peace and the natural beauty were amazing! The composting toilets didn't smell at all. So refeshing. The outdoor kitchen had all the basics with a fun vibe!
Super cute yurt! I love the environment. It was serene and beautiful. My 9 year old and I really enjoyed it. He had a blast playing the thongophone on the wall. I have no idea how he knew how to play it. But it was definitely a very peaceful rendition of Mary had a little lamb. Definitely bring your own bedding. It gets chilly at night without the stove on. The futons aren’t the most comfy. But definitely a great experience full of adventure!

Was a nice place to stay after exploring the Skamokawa Vista Park. If you come here I would definitely take the time to go to the state park. Was peaceful at the Yurt. Toilet was nice and clean and had a nice space to wash hands. No complaints.

Ah! It was just lovely. So nice to be out on the land where people are stewarding it well & not just there to exploit it for money!
There was a lot of love in this place & we felt really free to be ourselves.
I love the off-leash dog allowance so much too.
What a harmonious place. We’re already discussing our return.
Den was a gracious, responsive & helpful host & it was lovely to meet him & his partner who’s name sadly evades me at the moment.
We stayed 2 nights, one in the yurt which was magical and whimsical and everything a girls trip or romantic getaway needs, Including a very nicely kept out house attached to the yurt. The yurts was furnished with floor pads of different thickness , with lots of pillows, throw blankets and a wood stove too.
The second night we used the bell tents. Some had floor pads, some did not. The red one was smaller, but had its own fire pit. The blue one was smaller as well, but was closer to on-site amenities on both sides.
A quick walk down the road and over a small bridge, Den had tge most enchanting outdoor kitchen. Pictures provided. It felt like several large families could all eat in the same space without being to evasive. The kitchen had almost all the amenities one could need and then some.
Directly around the corner from the outdoor kitchen was a wooded area with hammocks and lights which felt intimate and cozy. Not too far from that, was an old school sauna and a really well made but rustic outdoor shower.
Over all, Den's farm was rustic and charming and highly recommend a stay here.

Absolutely incredible spot. The pictures don’t do it justice but it’s surrounded by gorgeous Mountain views and rolling hills. Both Den and Max are super great guys and very helpful. The land feels peaceful and magical, we really didn’t want to leave. My partner and I can’t wait to come back!!

This land is beautiful! We only stayed overnight on a road trip so we didn’t get to explore as much as we wanted. There is a community kitchen that we didn’t utilize but it was cool! Den was super chill and personable. We loved the community fire pit. We will definitely be back to stay a few days!
