20 minutes from Leavenworth, explore this oasis at Camas Meadow and be dazzled by the beauty & uniqueness of the surrounding 2000 acre nature preserve. During the spring season, wild flowers are in bloom and the Elk are grazing April-July! Unplug; relax in the peace; quiet this off-grid mountain retreat brings, while still enjoying all the amenities you need. Something for everyone: hiking, biking or just relax on the 1000 sq ft deck star gazing...all from your front door. NO off-roading, hunting, shooting or snow mobiles.ElgeThorne Mountain Haus is unique in many positive ways. Perfect for two families because the layout of the living spaces are separated in 4 separate cottages surrounded by the 1000 sq ft deck. THIS IS ONE RENTAL, THE GUEST OCCUPIES THE ENTIRE PROPERTY. Cottage #1: Living room has a queen memory foam sofa bed with wood burning stove and full kitchen . Cottage #2: 1/2 bath w/ toilet, sink and heater (Between Cottage #1 & #3 bedroom). Cottage #3: Large bedroom with wood stove SPLIT by a half wall and optional privacy curtain separate into 2 bedrooms, each with separate entrance: Separate entrance to 1- double bed and futon couch/double bed. Half wall with 2 steps down to a double bed with twin upper bunk and a sitting bench with separate French doors opening out to deck. Cottage #4 Walk-in tile shower. DECEMBER- MARCH WINTER BOOKINGS-PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING AND ALL REMARKS BEFORE BOOKING: WINTER FULL DISCLOSURE Winter months 4wd vehicle required for driving on plowed snowy road. Primary heat is from wood stoves. Winter at Camas Meadow is amazing IF you like snow and ok with cold weather. Do you like snow? Do you have 4WD and the skill to drive in the snow? If there is snow you can't pull all the way up the driveway to the cabin so parking is at the bottom of the driveway under a carport. You will need to haul your stuff up a hill in the snow about 150 feet. Wood stoves are the main source of heat, so you need to be able to start fires and be ok with that. Lastly, I like to make sure you noticed the unique layout of the living space. You do need to walk outside a few steps on the deck to get between the bathroom/ bedroom/ living room- kitchen cottages. This sometimes means shoveling a little path on the deck. This area can be a winter wonderland! I just want to make sure you are aware of all of this since it isn't for everyone :)
