The site had gorgeous views. It was private. We car camped in our SUV. If your tent camping there is no soft spot for tent placement. Wide wasnt bad the sunset and rises were amazing. We spent a day paddling on Lake Eniat and another day on Lake Chelan.

Loved this mountain space, drove down a gravel road through some beautiful farmland before we reached our spot. Set up a tiny fire in the pit and a tent for the night and it was perfect! A little windy, as expected from the top of a scenic mountain, but overall a wonderful experience. Would come again and recommend to anyone looking for a private camping spot to enjoy the views and wind down :) Thanks for the stay

Beautiful views! Nice and flat spot to setup our tent. The ground was hard so we couldn’t put the tent stakes in the ground, but fortunately there was very little wind so it wasn’t an issue. We will definitely try and come back again.

This spot delivered on views, privacy, and relaxation! Stunning and unique. Things to note: Yes - there is a well maintained dirt/gravel road to the campsite, but it's still quite rough so drive slowly & make sure you bring a vehicle that can withstand some rough washboard conditions. Wind - Previous posters mentioned this, but the when the wind kicks up, it's legit. There's no way a fire would have been safe or it be feasible to pitch a tent (the ground is very rocky, so this might be difficult anyway) in these conditions. With this said, the wind died down completely by midnight and it remained totally still the next morning, so I think it's just something to be prepared for. Our campervan provided the provisions we needed in the unexpected conditions, but you may want to bring a contingency plan if you plan to tent camp/rely on an open fire. We didn't have any trouble at all in mosquitos or hornets in mid-July. If you're a photographer - bring your gear. The sunset is stunning, the stars are abundant, and even the rolling fields that travel through to get to the site are beautiful we saw deer prancing through these! Great communication from the host - take his advice and use WAZE. The wayfinding signage is very good.

Awesome! So many options for how to orient our camper van - had a hard time choosing because all of the views are stunning. Complete privacy. Our stay was super windy - fun for van campers, but I’d worry about a tent! Listen to the host and ignore Google maps’ route in - follow the signs once you hit the area. Such a terrific 2-day secluded getaway.

This was our second visit to Earthlight and I would recommend checking for forest fires in the area before going -at least one week out - because of the strict cancellation policy. We did not receive notice that there was a campfire ban until 15 minutes after our check-in time. Plus, the next morning we woke up to significant smoke in the air and haze. We departed two nights early and due to the strict refund policy were forced to think of the fees as a “donation” since we were told by the host to take it up with Hipcamp. It’s a beautiful view and I would recommend going when you can enjoy it with a campfire and breathe clean air.
A recommendation for the host would be to offer an option for a partial refund or credit to use in the future when forest fires are burning in the area and impacting your guests’ visit.

Beautiful view, but the location
of our campsite put us this in view of everyone else... felt really exposed. Also the wind rips through pretty good so a tent is not ideal. It would be much nicer if there was at least a shelter to gove a little protection. I probably would not stay here again as is.

Absolutely incredible location! If you have a rig larger than 20 feet, I’d be worried. It’s about 8 miles from Waterville & close to Wenatchee & Chelan. There is T-Mobile service too. You are on top of the world!

Was a little nervous with the rocky drive in and finding a spot to stake down the tent was a bit of a challenge but the views are worth it! The beautiful wildflowers, shaded swing, light breeze, glowing sunset and clear skies to see the stars were highlights of this trip!

Van camping spot with a beautiful view, well worth the drive from the city. End of April was a perfect time to see the wildflowers. We lucked out with sunny skies, but should have taken wind gusts into account—makes for difficult outdoor cooking and campfires. However, when the winds stopped, it was the most peaceful experience.

We loved our stay at Earthlight! Almost every angle had a beautiful view of the mountains and valleys. We will highly recommend this site to others. We have a very reactive dog and this site was perfect for her. No other noises or animals around (minus the occasional bird or two, which she’s fine with) it was fun watching her truly relaxed for a few days. Great place to disconnect and enjoy the beauty.

This has been one of my fav. Spots I've found on here. The road getting to the spot is not great be warned (I drive a rav4 with all terrain tires) BUT it's worth it! Just go slow and you'll be OK. Beautiful sunset and gorgeous views all around. Loved it!

First camping trip of the year and this spot did not disappoint. The sky was clear the first night and the sky was lit up with the moon and stars. ✨ I will definitely camp here again.. the views were unbeatable and the swing was a nice touch. 🏕️

Such a sweet spot. It’s perched right on the edge of a mountain overlooking what feels like the rest of the world.. The tree swing is a cute touch but really it’s just peace and quiet.. unfortunately for us, it was yellow jacket season and we shared the site with hundreds of them.. and the ground keepers / weed wackers started working at 7am on the dot each morning.. but besides that… it truly is a one of a kind place. Since there is no outhouse or dedicated area for relief… there are many droppings and TP kinda scattered throughout the area so watch where you step!
We will 100% be returning in fall to see that view again 😌

Mixed bag for us on this site. Literally everything about the site is exactly as described BUT we got swarmed by yellow jackets literally as soon as we arrived. They were absolutely relentless even though we came prepared with vinegar spray & citronella candles. It was a total battle against them from when we arrived until sundown when they retreated back to their hive. The view and overall site were fantastic but whoever camped there before us clearly didn't leave a very tidy campground because those things were all over the ground looking for a meal & flying all around overhead as we were trying to set up and enjoy ourselves.

What a unique campsite! Very private and off the beaten path. The sunrise and sunset views are beautiful. Directly across the river from Entiat city Park at an elevation that brings a nice breeze and cool air in the evening. In July, it definitely is hot, would not recommend camping here without a rig with AC, as there is not much if anything in the way of shade and the site is hard packed gravel. The tree swing and the wind whistling through the two trees close to the site was an added bonus. Keep in mind that this site is difficult for some vehicles to reach, we passed a BMW on our way out with a flat tire from rocks on the gravel road. Low clearance and low profile tires are not a good choice for this site! When eating outside, be prepared to fend off the hornets which seem attracted to any bit of food or water.
Overall, a very unique and memorable campsite, would definitely recommend.

We loved everything about this spot. The bumpy trek from the highway through the wheat fields, the expansive views, and the private space where our pups could relax and explore off-leash. Our favorite Hipcamp to date without a doubt. Go while it’s still a Hipcamp and not a homesite. Thank you for sharing this special place.

So many stars! Our only regret was that we were only passing through and didn’t have has much time there as we would have liked. It was crazy windy when we arrived. The wind died down over the night. When I went to take the dogs for a 3 am potty break I saw the most amazing night sky I believe I ever seen while camping! The views are definitely as promising as is advertised.
We will book again when we can spend some more time there.

Earthlight is located in a remote hilly spot with a stunning view of the Columbia River below. We stayed during the middle of the week, and were awakened each morning by heavy earth-moving equipment directly uphill from the camp spot, and it went on all day daily. Except during the thunderstorm and when wind gusts peaked at 20-25 mph. Be sure to stake tents firmly in the rocky surface and watch the weather forecast. Overall, the sheer remote harsh beauty, the tree swing, and the visiting raven made the adventure memorable and worthwhile. Not an ideal tent-camping for flimsy canopies, or unattended items that may sail away, when winds pick up.

The view from this campground was like nothing we had ever experienced! Unbelievable and very private. There is a small cabin uphill from the campsite, but other than that, no one can see the site. It was very VERY windy for the first night, so make sure your tent is firmly staked down! The ground is hard rocks so it was challenging to get all our stakes in (my husband used the back of an axe and finally accomplished this task). A picnic table would be a great addition to the site. We had a wonderful time and would go back!
