A fantastic return stay! The bovine family on the grounds was adorable and hilarious. We rented the cabin and our amazing hosts set up a gate to surround my boys’ tent. The proximity to the observatory is 👌. Fab star watching from the fields as well.

The cabin was a lovely reprieve from setting up and breaking down a tent. One kid slept on the floor, the other in the loft, and our dog had his dog bed, and the space fit all of us snuggly. The windows and small overhead fan helped keep the temperature comfortable. There was also an overhead light which was a great bonus.
The coyotes and a barking dog woke us up at night, but it felt safer in a cabin than a tent.
The property is large. We were able to play baseball and frisbee in the fields and it felt private. They had 3 cows (mom, dad, baby), which were fun to watch. Look out for cow patties! Our dog also loved watching the cows while giving them space.
Sarah was away for the weekend but communicated quickly via the app. Her sister Hannah was an excellent host. We loved meeting her, her kids, and dogs. She made us feel right at home, and also suggested great activities. We visited Ekone park, Horsethief Butte, and saw the Solar show at the Observatory.
I will say that 2 things could be improved to make it an even better stay. The port a potty is too far away, especially at nighttime. Moreover, I highly recommend a composting toilet for a nicer outdoor feel.
Second, the area around the cabin could be so much nicer and safer if the large rocks were repositioned into a path, or at least moved away from the cabin entrance so you don't automatically trip over them.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and kids loved it! It made for an excellent camping weekend.

Rocky Point Park Cabin
Stayed here for the close proximity to the observatory. We were just passing through so needed an easy place to stay for the night. I liked the rustic feel and was glad I didn't have to pitch a tent for the night for me and my boys. The cabin was clean. While the cushions on the couch were good to sleep on, I would recommend a pad if you needed to sleep up in the loft. USB power provided so bring extra power if needed.

We loved camping in the cabin and a tent on Sarah’s charming and beautiful farm! The place has big open fields as well as lots of beautiful oak and pine trees. The cows, goats, chickens, and dog and cat were friendly and a lot of fun. Our children loved playing with them. Sarah was super helpful and friendly, and thoughtfully made sure everything was great for our stay. The very dark night sky in the big open fields gave us excellent stargazing views. Highly recommended. We hope to return before too long.

Camping on Sarah's property was wonderful. It was easy to find and I felt comfortable letting my kids explore. They loved catching lizards and grasshoppers and seeing snakes, frogs, turkeys and of course the cows and goats!!
It was a quick trip down to Marysville to enjoy the river on a hot afternoon. The rest of the time we enjoyed hanging out in the shade of the Oak Grove.
There was one goat that was a little less (or maybe more?) friendly than the others and seemed to really enjoy visiting our campsite. S/he even managed to get inside a tent for a minute! This definitely added to the experience for our family but is something to be aware of if you are less comfortable with animals.
Sarah was very helpful and communicative and overall we had a great experience and really enjoyed being able to relax without all of the people at other campsites. We were also able to see some of the Perseids meteors!!

Great place, and so nice to settle in and not have to set up a tent. Right below the observatory which is an added bonus. Plus there are cattle, goats, and dogs around which makes it even better. Will stay again!

Sarah's rustic cabin was great! It was a very windy night, and we were cozy in the cabin. The kids loved all the farm animals and Sarah was so patient with all their questions.

We enjoyed our stay at Sarah's rustic cabin. We were a bit short on space because our two kids decided they were too afraid to sleep in the loft, but we made do. There was a small charging device that we were provided with to run the lights and charge our devices. Sarah explained to us where her property lines ran. She also let us know that we could go to the barn and get some eggs for breakfast if we wanted. Unfortunately we left a day early due to an urgent health matter.

Sarah was a great host and tended to any needs we had right away . The space is lightly furnished with basic needs and still rustic . The area around the cabin is rocky and I found a trek pole handy for navigating the path . The area is peaceful and generally quiet except for the antics of all the animals roaming the property. Easily keeps 2 people . Would be crowded with more although probably ok with young kids in tow .

The field where my dog and I stayed was really quiet and peaceful, and we even saw deer one morning making their way into the park. The animals were curious and friendly (especially the goats) but didn't spend too much time with us, just did their own thing. The host Sarah was out of town but her husband met me at their property and showed me what I had free range over and how to work the gates, he was very helpful and kind and made some recommendations about places in town for us. The port-a-potty set up for us to use was pretty clean and not bad at all, and really for the most part we were left completely alone. Excellent spot, exactly what I wanted and i'll def camp here again if im in the area!

We stayed at Oak Grive as an overnight camp while visiting the Goldendale Observatory. They are RIGHT at the base of the observatory hill and super convenient and quiet. Sarah and her Husband were consummate hosts before, during, and after our arrival to their lively (animal encounters abound with goats and Highland, dogs and horses-all kind and curious) and beautiful campsite of Oak Grove. They met us, offered suggestions on dinner places -The Honkey Tonk came through, thank you. We felt very at home. As it was nearly a full moon, the starry night sky was not as luminesce as could be, but incredibly lovely and restful all the same. We had hot chocolate and coffee with Sarah and the animals and were absolutely thrilled to hear and see Soda Pop-the Highland cow calved a few days later. My feeling is if you and the kiddos want to have a homey farm camping experience away from home, you can’t get any better than Oak Grove. We shall return.

The property is secluded and great star gazing. Animals abound and the port-a-potty was clean. Particularly enjoyed meeting Sarah’s 12wk old goat, seeing her community of animals, and learning about her homestead. Sarah was very helpful in navigating us to her property and a wonderful host.

We needed a place to stay so that we could go to the late night show at the observatory. Sarah’s property was perfectly located just a few minutes drive from the observatory. She was incredibly gracious and we loved meeting all of her four-legged friends! The spot where we camped was also perfect for continuing our star gazing after the show. I would definitely stay again!

The rustic cabin was just perfect for our needs. One of the cats even tried to make himself a home with us, which we loved. Waking up to goats outside grazing was definitely a treat.

The hosts here were helpful making sure we had a good stay. The property is peaceful and beautiful. We loved the cabin. It was clean, and simple, yet comfortable. The comfortable cots made for a solid nights sleep. We plan to stay here again for a good night sky viewing experience just up the hill at the Goldendale Observatory. And should it be a cloudy night, We will instead enjoy the cabin and rejuvenated vibrant downtown of Goldendale. Awesome overnight stay no matter.

A charming campsite where farm field meets Scrub Oak and Pine forest. It’s perfect for adventurous campers who enjoy the presence of animals and respect farm life. Hosts are kind, helpful, and informative, sharing advice and details about services and activities in Goldendale and Klickitat County. Because the campsite is settled near the base of the Observatory Drive, it makes for a great place for visitors to extend their stargazing experience after a late night Observatory show!

I had a great experience at Dream acres! The little cabin was just perfect for me for the week I was in Beautiful Goldendale. The cabin is simple and rustic but had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The host Sarah was lovely and was easy to work with from beginning to end. I loves being around the all the cattle and enjoyed the sunsets on the front porch. Easy access to downtown and far enough out to enjoy the beautiful countryside. I look forward to staying there again in the future!

Rocky Point Park Cabin
The cabin on Sarah's land was just right for me and my folks! There was more in the cabin than listed (cushions for the wood bed, 2 chairs and a table, 5 gal jug of water was already at the cabin for us). It was a warm day, but opening the windows cooled off the space just right. The sofa/bed opened up to sleep my folks and I slept up in the loft area. Sarah's husband met us to get us settled in and we hung out near the animals before heading over to the Goldendale Observatory only a few minutes away which was super convenient, especially not having to drive far to come "home" when we came back after the show ended at midnight. I'd recommend bringing a flashlight/lantern for the walk to the bathroom at night, but we had brought our own travel potty so it wasn't a problem.

This place is a must stop on your way to Seattle. Bucolic, serene, clean, and lots of animals. The owners couldn’t have been nicer and greet me when I arrived. Their camping sites are phenomenal.
