Magical Mystical Marriage
We hosted our wedding here on July 12th. We had ~25 people camp overnight for the night before and night of, and about 55 people total for the day of. This couldn’t have been a more perfect space. We held the ceremony near the beaver pond. The trees overhead gave us enough shade to keep guests cool, but let in enough light to make it magical.
Everyone camped in the main grassy field. There was more than enough space for everyone to camp and have privacy.
Andrea and Gary went above and beyond to make the space and the day special and easy. One of our guests got a flat tire on the way up, and when trying to fix it, their jack broke. They were quick to jump in and help when they heard about it. Beyond that, they anticipated our needs and checked in with us a few times to let us know they were there if needed, but not overbearing!
The animals were also a wonderful addition without being in the way. Everyone fell in love with Butters and Tansy, the gentle giants that protect the property from other critters. While you do hear chickens and occasional dog barks overnight, it added to the experience in my opinion (my brother noted how he loved the slow-motion awww-ooofs).
We plan to come back for anniversary visits!
Bring bug spray, as with any camping trip. The only other thing to note is that if you’re not used to gravel/rock roads, you may be in for an adventure. If you plan to host an event, we suggest putting small signage up along the way if allowed.
