Was a great place to dry-camp in a rv water fill and wood for sale on-site and a sewer dump at the local rv park or the Elma rest area very quiet our 2 dogs loved it

Pretty area and very easy to access. This was our first time camping, and we appreciated having a town nearby along with plenty of activities in the area. It’s a great spot for those who aren’t too experienced with camping. The host was friendly, stopped by to say hello, and shared some great activity recommendations.

My daughter and I had a great time camping here. Don was super friendly, pulling up on his ATV and telling us about things to do around the area and take us to meet his goats. The spot was spacious and gave us options on how to lay out our camp. I would come back here again

Open area along a wetland with willows to somewhat shade the campsites. Reasonable space between campsites. Fires allowed with firewood for sale on site. Minimal occasional train noise. Sweet host, very kind. Goats to pet and talk to. Water to fill your tank, yay. Up the highway one mile is a rest station with dump site. Relaxing, lovely spot to camp a few nights.

We only stayed one night on our way from Olympic NP to Mt Rainier NP but it was peaceful and quiet and Don was helpful in suggesting a short nearby hike to Porter Creek falls that was very pretty. We were lulled to sleep in our roof top tent by mooing cows, distant howls of coyotes and a very friendly cat meowing below who clearly wanted to join us!

Camp Birdwatch is exactly that. This was a peaceful property with large spots, lots of space between campers. Got to see birds we haven't seen before. Clean honey buckets, garbage cans accessible. Don, the host, was so friendly, welcoming us the first night with fresh picked plums. He had lots of information about surrounding area and things to do. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven. We will be back.

We stayed here knowing we wouldn’t be at the campsite much during the day, and it ended up being a great choice. It felt safe and secure—we had no worries about leaving our belongings while we were out exploring.
The hosts were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. They offer firewood on site at a great price, and there were lots of fun features like swings, games, and peaceful walking trails. The blackberry bushes were full of ripe, delicious berries—just be sure to wear tennis shoes or crocs since they’re growing near the campsite.
We were told right away about a few areas with broken glass and goat heads, which was appreciated. Even so, my kids went barefoot often and didn’t have any issues. The goats were such a fun bonus—the kids loved feeding and petting them.
Overall, it was a relaxing, family-friendly spot with a warm, safe vibe. Would definitely stay again!

Dan is a very friendly host. He is a long time resident of the area and we greatly appreciated the inside info on local attractions. He also shared homegrown plums that were delicious. Wetlands were visible from our spacious campsite. Portapotties were clean with ample paper and hand sanitizer available. Garden hose was an easy source of clean water. Goats and swings made the stay more fun. An unexpected bonus was the lack of mosquitoes and gentle breezes that helped prevent them from staying near our site. We loved listening to the bull frog at night, who even made an appearance at our campsite early one morning. We saw American robins, crows, ravens, turkey vultures, mallards and a bald eagle from our campsite. Also heard Swainson’s thrush and possibly an owl in the distance (difficult to ID to species due to sounds from road and railway).
Over all a great stay and we would gladly return again

What a wonderful place! It is a bird paradise , friendly goats, lots of blackberries, swings and games, clean bathrooms, easy access and affordable wood, decently flat spaces for tents. Really is a magical place. Thank you for having us!

I loved camping at bird watch, not only is Don the nicest guy but the land is taken care of, his property is secure which is an awesome feeling knowing no one will steal or go through your things. As soon as we showed up don introduced himself and recommended some awesome hiking trails which was so sweet. Nothing but good things to say about this place.

This site was a win with the kids! The host is welcoming and seems to enjoy sharing his property.
There were two saucer swings and goats which the kids loved. I’m glad better known sites were booked because I wouldn’t have found this little gem otherwise. Would definitely return.

Our Camp Birdwatch site was perfect for waterfront nature viewing plus a grassy space for fetch with our dogs. It was SO peaceful and fun watching all the wildlife. We also had so much fun walking the property and visiting the goats! It was a pleasure meeting Don - he has created an incredible space and we look forward to coming back!

What stood out the most was how accurate the reviews are regarding how kind and helpful the owner is of this camp is!
Many of the campsites are close together which doesn’t really give a sense of privacy but there are a few that are secluded and the owner went out of his way to make sure I found the secluded one for my family and I! Definitely recommend for a quick overnight stay!
The owner was also very informational on where to go fishing!

Beautiful location with very clean sites. Don was a fantastic host, super personable and offered great recommendations for site seeing in the area. You can see the care and effort put into maintaining the sites. The camp is also appropriately named; we heard and spotted no less than a dozen different bird types during our stay. The fire pits and available wood are a nice touch and really elevate the experience. Definitely coming back!

Great peacefulspot, lots to do within in the area. Host is very responsive! Fresh eggs up the road.. beautiful views, and lots of wildlife! Would recommend.
My only recommendation for other campers. Is bring earplugs if train noise bothers you otherwise you’re good!

This place was sooooo beautiful and a perfect last minute getaway for us and our pups. we had so much fun and the hosts were so kind and welcoming we would 100% comeback. the pond was gorgeous with the lily pads and the birds were so fun to look at and hear in the morning. we can’t wait to come stay again soon:)

Really great spot- don and Cheryl were very nice and accommodating. The land is very cool. Very pretty and surrounded by wildlife. We saw kingfishers, wood ducks, mergansers, many red winged black birds, green herons, other birds and a beaver! It was lovely. Would definitely recommend this spot :)
