we decided to camp here because it was one of the few campgrounds around rainier that we could book on a Memorial Day weekend. Turns out it was an excellent campground that is more private with great shower/toilet/sink facilities. We also loved that it was close to the river.

Pat is very laid back, flexible, and welcoming! The property rests on the shores of a beautiful, fast-flowing river, and the sounds of nature are all around (it was especially wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the birds, and the flowing water). The sites were level and all on the water (there were both tents and small RVs there when we visited), and the location was very close to our event at the Washington State Fair!
The amenities included 3 or 4 bathroom stalls, a warm shower and a wheelbarrow of split and seasoned firewood was only $20!

The place is both good and bad.
The Good: The hosts were friendly. The actual campsite was mowed, sizeable, and easy to drive up to and use. The river and mountain behind the river was beautiful and majestic. The bathroom was functional, clean, and close-by. The space is safe for toddlers with supervision. We had a great time.
The Bad: the campsite is literally a few feet away from several houses. The photos on the campsite are obviously old. For example, the piano is currently covered with junk. There are random pieces of junk on the site: an old bathtub, an unused camper, etc. You only feel like you're in nature if you look at a certain angle at the river. Otherwise, you feel like you're in an overcrowded set of backyards with junk scattered through them.

A great time. We parked the van in a lovely spot on the levee, and had our chairs inches from the waters edge. The next day we walk a mile or so up the trail that is just across the street, and put in a big floaty, and spent three hours floating (mostly very slowly) back to the sandbar about 50 yds below our site. Pat was super friendly and so were the five silly doggos. It was a great place for us to connect.

Friendly communication. Decent spot(s) all along gravel extended driveway that parallels the carbon river. Nice bathrooms and decent shower a little walk from sites. Potable water. The river is a nice background noise. House dogs wander into your site which can be fine for some people. Decent camping experience for a Hipcamp site!

We were not able to camp due to unseen circumstances. I had messaged the host with a question and never received a response. Communication was good prior to booking however after booking there was no communication.

My famTribe was so sad when Bumps and Bruzs closed the closed and as soon as we found it had re-open we made it a mission to return. The location is close to all of our homes the feel of being in woods but having amenities just 10 mins away you can't beat it.
This for us has been some of our best memories and as long as they are open we will return!!

I really enjoyed car camping here! It was really easy to get set up and parked. The river was beautiful and Pat was super helpful! As a solo female, I felt very safe here even though I was the only camper! I will definitely stay here again :)

We had a good time at this spot! We booked the whole place out for our family & everyone enjoyed. This place mostly has 2 spots that have a river view each with its own fire pit (the remaining you can probably skip and not worth it). We were a part of 9 and pitched over 3 tents with ample space. All the camp spots are level, so great for camping but car needs to be parked in parking area and not at the campsite (so you need to haul your gear). The property is currently under construction being converted into a wedding venue and there is no easy access to the river. The river is gorgeous, and great for relaxing on a hot day. The sites can be a little more maintained but good to relax by the riverfront. The host was really nice and accommodating.

When booking this place, we were excited to get there early to grab the best spot based on photos of sites. When arriving we were severely disappointed. None of the sites looked like the photos. There was zero access to the river besides going through a bunch of brush and trees. We were told to take all our trash with us which is understandable, but at the site we chose, there was garbage in the bushes and on the ground. We were told that there was no pets allowed but then on Saturday “friends of the owners” were allowed to bring there dogs. The owners did however allow us to have an extra parking spot, when parked in said parking spot I was asked to move so people could get to their cabin around the corner. Not usually a big deal but with all the other stuff it just compounded, it was a hassle considering I was directly in the spot that the owners had outlined with parking blocks Just an all around disappointing experience and will not be returning to this site.

As far as the campsites and general grounds go, it was not as pictured. The camping area available to us was on a rocky road bordering a line of bushes along the water that blocked our entire view. The grounds were not well kept, it was not fun to camp on rocks, and there was no way to see the river or view. Perhaps there were better spots but this is what was available to us since it is first come first served for camping.

Beautiful campsite! Pat was very accommodating and has the cutest pack of dogs I’ve ever seen. We had a great time sleeping under the stars to the sound of the river and waking up to clean flush toilets, a charging station, and hot showers. Thank you!

Tent pitching is on a gravel levee ... which isn't a good surface for sleeping on. There is *one* surface with astroturf which we happily/gratefully used.
Hammock camping would be better than tenting.
The riverside location is great!
The Honey Bucket was super clean!
Bring hand sanitizer tho.
Re: the free-roaming dogs on the property. I believe the owner that they are harmless, and they are called inside at night, but if you are at all skittish around dogs, this may not be the campsite for you. We did have to maneuver around them to get to the toilet.

We loved this spot! We booked the whole place out for a camping family reunion, and everyone had a blast.
The river is gorgeous, and great for relaxing on a hot day, rock hounding or building sand castles. All the camp spots are level, so great for car camping. And there are fire pits all along the river.
Lots to do nearby! Beautiful parks, hiking trails and farmers markets are within 10 minutes drive. Mt Rainier National Park and Northwest Trek are within a half hour. Restaurants in town are fantastic (try the chicken and waffles at Tim's Kitchen).
Renee was a gracious host, and she checked on us a couple times a day. She also was kind enough to join us for dinner on our last night!
My entire family would absolutely recommend this spot. That said, there were a couple surprises that required some workarounds.
The property is currently under construction to convert into a wedding venue, which we learned on arrival. This was fine for us! We just moved the BBQ portion of the reunion to a nearby park to accommodate grandparents with mobility issues.
There are lots of free roaming dogs. They are wonderful, and you will fall in love! Bon, the pug, will cuddle and kiss and talk to you all day and night! As cute as they are, they are reactive to unfamiliar animals. So DO NOT bring your pets. I have an ESA that I depend on, and thankfully, Pat told me to board him out of an abundance of caution. His dogs were a great substitute.
Overall 5000/10. Highly recommend

Loved the layout of the different camping spots with fire pits. I had a great spot by the river. Plenty of wood for my enjoyment. Friendly host. Camp is close enough to Mt Rainier and other small towns to go on day adventures. River sound cancels out nearby road noise so I got plenty of sleep.

this was such a disappointment we did not even start here.
entrance is not well mark. it's literally someone's backyard. the "sites" are on the berm above the river and not well tended. a couple of them actually looked like they were for storage

I’ve camped here multiple times, it’s peaceful and easy to get too.
As a solo female camper I always feel comfortable and safe at this site. I love falling to sleep with the sound of the river next to me.
