Just was a wonderful, hospitable host. Her campsites were amazing and the location is beautiful. A common kitchen and showers/restroom were an added bonus.

This is a communal camp ground. If you’re looking to get away, this is not it. There are no individual places for tent camping, just an open field with no trees. If you’re bringing your dog, you might not have anything to tie your dog to. There was only one communal fire pit near the facilities. If you want a fire at your tent site, you need to bring your own fire pit. There might have been 4 picnic tables in the field. You can’t park near your tent site for unloading, loading and storing.
Other than that, the shared kitchen, showers and toilets were nice. There are communal picnic tables by the facility. There’s a communal great room with couches, tv, fireplace and pool table.
So again, if you’re looking for some seclusion and accessibility to your site with your car, your own fire pit and picnic table - this isn’t the place. This place is more ideal for large group camping.
We only stayed one night and left early. It seemed pointless to camp without a fire. Lesson learned for me is to not make assumptions and don’t fully rely on what’s written in the description. Ask questions before going.

Judy was very friendly and helpful, the tent camping was perfect for our needs and is a very good value for staying on the island. My dogs were welcomed in the common spaces and I very much appreciated that. The kitchen area was well stocked for making food and had made it feel like glamping rather than camping. We will definitely be back!

Such a quiet, sunny place with very comfortable conveniences like showers, a kitchen area and even a hair dryer! I came in the shoulder season and found a place to rest that I'll come back to in October.

Quiet, relaxing area not too far from town with adorable shops and restaurants.
My dogs and I loved having a trail system starting right from our camp spot, into a private forested area with a beautiful lake. We ran all around the lake and explored some of the offshoots as well. Also loved having a private, indoor space to use the restroom and shower, as well as a shared space to relax inside.
Not a complaint whatsoever- but just an FYI to anyone tent camping with dogs: Hipcamp does not disclose or list the $5/dog fee for outside camping, and did not relay pet information to the host. Even though I listed 2 dogs on my reservation, the host does not see that on her end. Some kind of Hipcamp glitch. So, if you book on here and have dogs- make sure you reach out and let the host know. Wasn’t a big deal and host was understanding about waiting until I could get into town for cash to pay the pet fee. But, just so you’re not surprised when you arrive 🙂

For my first experience in my van I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful space. Judy is an amazing host and manages a wonderful community space. Bathrooms, showers, and kitchen were clean and tidy. Being able to have my dog off leash and play in the field was awesome! It’s so good I extended my stay by another 5 days!

Thanks Judy for your kindness and hospitality! You had the only spot to camp on Vashon in the winter! Being able to use the facilities on a 30 degree night in a tent made a crazy spur of the moment bike tour more bearable. In true hostel fashion, clean communal kitchen and restrooms with all the accessories you could ever dream of. A very nice spread, I can only imagine how beautiful it is during the other seasons.

Judy’s land was a perfect landing spot for me coming to Vashon! She was super welcoming towards me and very helpful with local recommendations. The amenities of the campground are wonderful! And it’s super close to town. I’ll definitely be back! Thanks Judy!

The facility is geared to larger groups (it was just myself camping) so if you have a reunion or want a place for a gathering it would be great!
This time it was just myself and a couple other folks so it worked for me this time.

I had a great stay at Judy's land. Judy was very helpful in providing a map and clear instructions for my stay. Judy is available to assist with any questions and issues. The land is beautiful and well maintained. The facilities (shower, kitchen, bathroom) are also very nice and well-stocked. The site is also about 5 minutes drive from the main street. I would recommend staying here if you are going to Vashon.

As advertised: a western camp in an open field surrounded by evergreen trees. Nice hot showers, bathrooms, and place for trash. I was there on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet. It was a nice landing pad for exploring Vashon.

Very welcoming, we had a lovely stay thank you. Enjoyed the early evening pond trail. We also loved listening to the coyotes last night. Peaceful, spacious with the amenities we needed.

This is an amazing piece of property on the island. Country setting with tons of amenities and it’s just moments from town. Judy was very understanding and communicative during our travel up from Oregon. I would high recommend staying here if you are going to see Oscar.

Enjoyed my first stay at AYH Ranch. Enjoyed the host, the campsite, and enjoyed meeting the other people staying there. The lodge was great with flush toilets, hot showers, kitchen and lots of chairs and couches to sit and visit with friends.
