Can’t get closer to Rainier NP

Quiet location in a rural residential neighborhood on the west side of Mt Rainier. Two rv sites on gravel; one fairly level, another not. Close to the entrance of the national Park and local food, drink, shopping and information. There is a For Sale sign at the property entrance.

I came at night, so perhaps it would have been a different experience if it was during daylight. I could not find the “campsite” and am not sure there was one honestly. I went down the private drive that I felt was perhaps the area, but did not look like it or felt safe. I did find an area on the side of the road, that I felt might’ve fit the description, which was pretty overgrown if it was it. It was good enough to sleep for a couple hours until I got up early to hike. But if planning as an actual campsite, I do not recommend. It looks nothing like the photos or description. Especially for $40, i’ve gotten $25 campsites that are better or just sleep on the side of the road for free. I don’t mean for this to sound incredibly harsh, but honesty is a pretty important value to me.

Nice, private spot close to Mt Ranier. I had it to myself and really enjoyed not having a bunch of little kids around. :). I booked a second night!

This campsite was basically just a small clearing in the bushes—not well maintained and located right next to a road, with a construction site nearby that made it pretty loud. The ground wasn’t level, so we had to scramble to find a decent spot to pitch our tent. One of the main reasons I chose this site was the advertised electrical hookup, but it turned out to be a standard home outlet, not compatible with RVs, which was really disappointing. The only upside is that it’s just 10 minutes from the national park. But honestly, I’ve stayed at much better places on Hipcamp for the same price and with far better conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this spot.

Pros - sweet location super close to rainier Cons - Water quality was not good! (Yellow) - No direction ons how to access power box and turn on your spots power. - Spot 3 is tough to pull in your camper depending on length. .

Make sure you go to Aspen Village, if the map takes you somewhere else, it’s wrong. This is located at https://maps.app.goo.gl/ypJgsN5DU425st3m9?g_st=ipc This is the actual location. You will need a table, power cord and 30 foot water hose as the hook ups are kind of forward of where you need them. Also, the water is not drinkable, it’s rusted. So for dishes it’s ok but plan on using your own drinking water. Site is clean and flat. If we need to stay here again, we will use this location.

The site was really nice however we were the only ones there. If the second spaced was filled it would have been tight!! It was very close to the Nisqually entrance to Mt Rainer which was a definite positive!! I would suggest you have the plug for 50 amp for the electricity as we did not and we lost power twice but we were able to reset. The only problem we had was the water which was potable, sorry but the water was disgustingly! It looked like dirty water and there was no way we could use it to rinse off or drinkable.

Site 2 - Alpine Village RV space Mt Rainier

Nice nook for camping with a few friends. We weren't able to enjoy the fire pit due to rain but there was one available in the grassy area. Directions on our phones were incorrect. When I called Ryan he promptly picked up and walked us through getting to the correct spot.

Really convenient with electric, water, and a wood fire pit. It was a good spot for the night. Only downside is it’s somewhat hard to find. Don’t click on the map to find the place. It won’t lead to the right spot.

It was easy in and out , hard to level on the chunky rocks . The water never ran clear , so no water ,nor sewer was a let down. Very nosy generator in neighboring area, and really close to a busy road . But All in all , it was convient and It would be a good base camp . Thanks

The site was not easily identifiable and was extremely overgrown. We were just car camping so it wasn't a big deal and there was enough space for the car, but not for anything larger than that. We stayed for two nights and for our purposes it was fine, but be aware that you may not have as much space as you need.

The photos are very misleading, this was a little lot next to a junkyard with no room to move around outside on the grounds without going into the junk yard or the road. Definitely wouldn’t recommend if you have kids like we did but would be fine if you just need a spot for overnight

Not private but close to the park

The location was great in regards to park entrance, but otherwise it was very much just a place to park our trailer when every other campground seemed to be fully booked. Not at all overgrown like previous reviews stated. The spot was very tight with the other spots and neighboring properties so there was no privacy at all. It's a place to park that's close to Rainier and that's about it!

We loved our stay in this campground. Location is great - close to park Rainier entrance . The only one problem was finding location - it’s not clear, needs some post sign with number on the tree at least to avoid confusion. Otherwise really good experience.

Extremely Overpriced

Site 2 - Alpine Village RV space Mt Rainier

If you drive 30 minutes further from Mt Rainer, you’ll find parks with level spots, room for 1-3 extra vehicles, a secure property with the owner on site, bonfire rings, showers, and full hookups for $35/night. This has none of that for $50/night. I chose this so my place would be secure while away at the park, but nothing about this spot is secure. The listing photo is the one beautiful park of it, to its left is a road with homes looking down on you, to the right a junkyard/construction site, directly behind is a driveway for construction vehicles. Most free sites I’ve been at are better. Had this been under $20/night I’d have just said good location but this is so poor for the cost I felt I had to warn the next person. I’ve been full time in an RV for over two years and only written 2 bad reviews; however, this is by far the worst place I’ve ever spent money on. They need to either radically drop the price or actually invest in this site, but right now this is super scammy.

We chose not to stay there. The pictures don't show the dilapidated trailers right behind the RV sites. Just not what we were looking for so we moved to a different place. For some reason we got double charged because 4 hours after I made the initial booking we realized we had to move it to a day later. Permission was granted but we got charged for both nights. We were willing to eat one night because we booked it but the second charge was punch in the gut. So we paid 125 bucks and didn't even stay there at all.

Just a little driveway, off of the road. Fairly level, but bring leveling blocks. Better for small RV's/Campers than RTT rigs, no water/fire/facilities (or hangout space), but that's all listed. Fine if you are just stopping over prior to an early departure for the park, which is what we did.

We had a fantastic time. This location was within a 7-minute drive from the entrance of Mount Rainier National Park, which was amazing. Many fishing lakes, gas stations, and small grocery stores nearby. We were grateful for the water and electricity hookups that this spot offered.

Expert trailer maneuvering required

If you have a trailer, I would only recommend this if you consider yourself to be an expert at backing and maneuvering in tight spaces. The entrance to these three campsites is on the inside corner of a 90 degree bend in the road, it slopes down from the road as you enter, and there are culverts on both sides of the entrance. Ryan said we could get our 41' fifth wheel into this site and we did, but it took 90 minutes of maneuvering to get in and 55 minutes of maneuvering to get out. Shorter trailers would be a bit easier, but I still wouldn't recommend it. All that said, once we got our trailer in and parked, the rest of our stay was peaceful, the 50-amp hookup was great, and the location just 3 miles out from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park was excellent. Note: The street address listed in the description and in the confirmation emails is correct, but the "Open in Google Maps" button in the confirmation emails was NOT correct. Don't use that button unless you verify that it has been fixed to point to the correct address.

Not big rig friendly but convenient

The spot was close to the national park entrance which is the main thing we wanted. However it states it can fit 60ft trailer, that’s absolutely incorrect. We are 40ft & any bigger would be sticking out into the road. Also it’s very tight maneuvering into the spot because of the sharper angles & being close to the main road. My husband is very comfortable with our large trailer, & had difficulty. I would say not exactly big rig friendly unless you’re very comfortable & confident. However, for a smaller rig it would do just fine. Convenient location & off main road. Host also was not responsive when I messaged with a question.

Handy location, that's about it

The campsite itself was great, and it's at a convenient location in regards to the national park. Unfortunately it offers zero privacy (all 3 sites face eachother and are really close, and are visible from the main road), and is hard to find in the dark which resulted in some weird looks from the locals while we were driving through their community searching for it. If I had a big self-contained RV and just needed somewhere to park it, this would have been perfect. But if you need to set up camp, this ain't it. BTW the coordinates take you to a completely different place than the address. We went to the coordinates first and it was some random driveway. The weird thing is, someone was already camped there. And when we finally got to the correct campsite, site #3 was empty when it was supposed to be occupied. Go figure.
