Anderson’s Bambooland is a 122 acre family owned farm established in 1993. The property houses a 100 year old barn that served to package berries once grown on the farm when it was Monroe’s “Berryland Packers”. Now the farm features nearly 50 varieties of bamboo and leases fields to local flower growers. Enjoy foot access to one of the best swimming and fishing areas on the river or enjoy walking gently around our flower or bamboo fields while soaking in the distant mountain views. We are just a 1/4 mile west of the reptile zoo.

Great family weekend trip
It has a nice open field with loads of space for kids to play, trains to grab their attention, and a fantastic calm section of the river. It’s perfect for group camping, but has enough space that it wouldn’t be a bother if there were multiple small groups either.

We had a wonderful stay at Anderson’s bambooland! Heather was sweet and answered all our questions. The property is huge with lots of things to do and see- it was a 2 min walk to the river, they even supplied life vests and tubes! We will be back again.

Top-notch camp spot
Anderson's Bambooland is a top-notch camping spot if you're in the Pacific Northwest, and Heather was very kind and accommodating. Sites are very spacious, and we had plenty of room to park and turn our 17ft. travel trailer. The river access and forest (and yes, lots of bamboo!) made it feel off-the-beaten-path--even though it's conveniently close to Route 2. I look forward to visiting again someday!

Nice stay in Monroe
We stayed there one night as we were attending a wedding just a bit down the road at Pine Creek Farms. We had a beautiful, quite very large dispersed spot really close to the river. The camp area was surrounded by woods and bamboo. In the morning while having coffee a few deer came into the camp. The only down sides were that it was hard to find and on arrival there wasn't anyone to greet us and wasn't clear what to do. This could easily be solved by better signage/address on the road that is well lit at night and instruction sheet outside the office for those campers arriving. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful sancutary
Our first stay through Hipcamp...this place is exactly what I imagined in a private campground. It's very spacious, easy enough to have comfortable distance between other campers but not so far if you want to socialize. The single portapotty is the cleanest one I've ever used! The beach/river access takes the cake though, just a short walk to the rocky beach and gentle river - safe enough for even our elderly dog to wade in without getting swept away. Heather was very friendly and prompt at returning messages but otherwise left the campers alone to enjoy the campground to themselves. The other campers were some of the most friendly and courteous campers I've ever met. No loud music, no generators (camp rule anyways) and the other dog owners had good control over their dogs at all times. Everyone seemed to have a good time and were generally pretty quiet. It's close to the town of Monroe, so supplies can be had if you forget something. And if you want to travel into one of the cities like Seattle or Everett, you're close without being in the hustle and bustle of the city.

This was our second visit, and just as fantastic as I remembered. We did the float from Sultan this time, and it was lovely. Super clean portapotty and well maintained site in every way. The river bank is perfect for lounging and floating all day long. Dog and kid-friendly; blackberries galore plus Heather is very communicative, accommodating and friendly. We’ll be back next Summer!

Great place for kids! So close to the river and a giant nursery log fallen in the water that kids loved climbing on and making swings with our hammock rope! Great big field to run around in and a covered space for setting up our kitchen.

Great little spot. The beach on the river was amazing! Went on a spit of the moment overnight trip and it was awesome! Never thought I’d see the day where I leave a review about the clean port-a-potty but it was spotless! Would definitely stay again!
