Location, location! Whitetop Camp is located in the heart of Whitetop, literally just minutes from the start of the Creeper Trail (Whitetop Station), Whitetop Mountain, the Appalachian Trail, National Forest, and Grayson Highlands State Park. Our property is quiet and serene. A lovely creek runs through the property. There is a large open field for frisbee and other recreation. CYCLISTS ARE WELCOME! Two gas stations, cafe, post office and library are a walkable distance away for your convenience. Please note for 2025: The Creeper Trail from Whitetop to Damascus is currently CLOSED due to heavy damage from Helene. Hwy. 58 to Damascus is open! You can drive to Damascus and ride the Trail to Abingdon. All other trails and parks in the Whitetop area are OPEN at the time of this writing (May 2025).

Campsite parking for one small or longer rig: RV or pull-behind trailer+truck, up to about 40'' total length. Can also be rented as a tent site (up to 2 tents/total 4 people). Super easy level access and site. Back in, although you may be able to circle around, depending on your rig. Contact us if you need more photos. No hook-ups. Potable water at the hydrant next to the green concrete block building April 15-Nov. 15; bottled water available at the store .2 miles west on Hwy. 58 (Highlands Parkway). Super clean portapotty just a few steps away April 15-Nov. 15; sawdust bucket toilet, only, Nov. 15-April 15. You will see 2 neighboring houses further down the driveway. Very quiet area. Only .2 mile to two gas stations; the Railroad Market and Cafe also has a diner and public access Wifi. Walking distance to a post office, library, gas, cafe, Wifi. Just minutes to Whitetop Station. WE WELCOME CYCLISTS!

PLEASE READ THROUGH: This is a very basic enclosed shed-shelter, like new, clean and dry. Open the three windows and the door for excellent cross ventilation. Inside you will find three cots (no linens, use your sleeping bag on top, please). Potable water at the yard hydrant April 15-Nov. 15 **NOTE: Hydrant turned off Nov 15-April 15; bottled water is available at the store .2 miles away. There is a very clean portajohn for your use April 15-Nov. 15 **NOTE: Sawdust bucket toilet, only, Nov. 15-April 15.  Fire pit, use dependent on conditions (be sure to check first with owner, please). Just minutes from Whitetop Mtn., the Creeper Trail, MRNRA, and Grayson Highlands. Located 4 acres with a creek running down one side. You will see our very quiet neighbors from this shelter. Big open field for Frisbee, etc. WIFI .2 mi. at the Railroad Market and Cafe. Walk to food, post office, library. Super easy access to the property and parking. Located in the heart of Whitetop. 5 minute drive to Whitetop Mtn. or the Creeper Trail, 15 to Grayson Highlands, 30 to Damascus. WE WELCOME CYCLISTS!

Great spot for a family camping! Just a 15-minute drive from Grayson Highlands State Park. Diana is a wonderful host who makes sure her guests have everything they need.

Delightful spot for my husband, our two kids, and myself to stay for a night before exploring Grayson Highlands! Beautiful little spot. Cleanest portapotty I’ve ever seen! Diana met us at the site and definitely made us feel welcome!

I am so excited to have found this spot!! It is located 15 minutes from Grayson Highlands and is very clean and comfortable. Diana was also an incredible host and made a sure I settled in! I would highly recommend!

The site was a perfect to start our riding trip. Very close gas and basic groceries/supplies. Maybe 30 minutes from our start in Damascus which had more food and recreation options. Diana was very responsive to our questions prior to and after booking and and met us prior to check in to show us the site and get us started on our adventure.

Perfect Location/Quiet/Beautiful

Diana was the best host I have ever had the privilege of speaking to regarding the stay. Before even arriving, she wants to make sure you know where you are going, she had the site marked perfectly, we were going to be arriving past dark and she marked the post with glow sticks and the directions were phenomenal! We found it without any problems. She is extremely friendly and it was just the best experience I have had. I have been hiking and camping since 2008 and I have been to so many different places, she makes me want to use hipcamp more, I usually back country camp, but this was incredible! Apple tree near the fire pit, a bench to sit near, it was very cozy. The portapotty was the cleanest portapotty I have ever seen! I clean homes for a living and it was incredible in there! There are three windows in the space and you can open them to let some air in. The parking area is very close, so unpacking is a breeze. We booked Diana’s listing to go to Mount Rogers and say our wedding vows and this was the perfect location to be able to go and have this done “enchanted elopement.” Thank you Diana for such a wonderful experience and stay, we will be back!

Had a great experience at Diana’s place. Diana was very responsive and helpful and very nice to deal with. And the closeness to the activities we were there for-biking the famous Virginia Creeper and hiking the Appalachian Trail could not have been better. I would recommend highly.
