Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries. We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm! Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours. The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries. A few offerings on the farm. Tasting in the 1850s Chestnut log cabin, tubing trips, breakfast and picnic lunches, Animal experiences and Yoga. Please inquire about renting the property for private small events. Winter Camping: Please note that we can received significant snowfall in our area. 4WD may be required during the winter months.

Sparrow Hammock Camp

Sparrow Camp is located on our 120-acre farm near Shenandoah National Park's White Oak Canyon and Old Rag Mountain. This walk-in site has access to our farm trails, pond and farm store, which carries Animal Welfare Approved meat, eggs and produce from our farm, as well as camping essentials, a small gourmet grocery and local artist.  The walk to the campsite is a short 2/10 mile from our farm store and parking area and has approximately 70 feet in elevation gain.  This very private wooded site is located off one of our farm trails, it is surrounded by mountain laurel on a small overlook with fall and winter views.  The campsite has a small stone fire ring with cooking grill, handwashing station, small table and chairs and a covered changing area with a portable toilet using bio-bags. We offer a luggage service to your site and have hammock tents available for rental, as well as other camping gear. Please no pull carts are allowed as they damage our narrow trails and disrupt the ecosystem. Pets are NOT allowed at this site. Pets are allowed on our farm at certain campsites with a leash. Please note we have animals that free roam including our livestock guardians. If your pet is not vaccinated or friendly with other animals, please leave them at home.

Fiddlehead camp is located on our 120 acre farm near Shenandoah National Park's White Oak Canyon and Old Rag Mountain Trailheads. This Walk-In campsite has access to our farm trails, pond and farm store, which carries Animal Welfare Approved meats, eggs and produce from our farm, camping essentials, SNP souvenirs and local artwork. The campsite is located 0.3 mile from our farm store and parking, along a creek and is suitable for 2 or 3 tents. Tent rental and gear transport is available. The campsite is located approximately 0.3 miles along The Laurel Trail Loop which follows along Lily's Creek, where Fiddlehead Camp is located before the trail heads uphill to an area of tall oaks and mountain laurel. This walk follows along the creek, crossing two bridges and one stone step across the water. The pathway is narrow and is best suited for campers who are comfortable carrying their gear in backpacks. We do offer gear transportation for those who which to walk empty handed. 24 hour notice appreciated. This site offers a firepit with cooking grill which overlooks the small stream. You are welcome to pickup wood off the forest floor. We have split firewood available for sale and delivery. Please do not bring wood into this site unless it is federally regulated and certified bug free. The campsite is suitable for hammock tents and up to four regular tents. There is no tent pad at this site and the forest floor is only somewhat level in this area. We have a table with chairs and an outdoor food prep, handwashing, dish station, non-potable water is provided. There is no potable water at this campsite and you must carry in all drinking water. This site offers a small covered changing area, which has a portable toilet using biobags. There is no shower at this site but you are welcome to bring an outdoor solar shower. The large campsite is private, has wood and water views and in the spring and summer you are surrounded by beautiful ferns. Pets are allowed on our farm with a leash. Please note we have animals that free roam including our livestock guardians. If your pet is not vaccinated or friendly with other animals, please leave them at home.

Hickory Hill Haunts for Halloween! Near Old Rag Mountain and Shenandoah NP

Hickory Hill is located on a 120-acre working farm. This campsite is located on a hill, so be prepared for a 100' elevation gain in your short 0.2 mile walk from your car. If you don't want to transport your gear, we can do that for you! Our farm is located about 10 minutes from the Old Rag Trailhead. 25 minutes to the lower fall at White Oak Canyon and Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Hickory Hill is Haunted for Halloween with mild decoration along the tail and in camp and a REAL ghost story about the farm's old Moonshine cabin. Decorations are up October 9 - November 1, 2026. Our farm has miles of trails, a farm store, river access, a pond to relax by and lots of cute animals to visit.

Birdsong Camp, located on our 120-acre working farm in the heart of Madison County is just minutes from attractions in Shenandoah National Park including Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon.  Our farm has miles of hiking trails, a farm store and lots of farm experiences to enjoy. The campsite is very private, encompassing nearly an acre, is situated along one of our farm paths and is accessible by vehicle. You can enjoy a large campfire, play horseshoes, take a hike or relax near the pond.  The site has its own private seasonal bathhouse, with a flushing toilet, outdoor solar bag shower during warm weather and mini outdoor kitchen that comes with a few essentials, a sink to wash dishes, countertop space, cast iron pans, grilling and serving utensils, oil and a few spices. We have many rental options on the farm. We offer a complete setups to four person tents you setup. Our tipi tent with queen size air mattress, linens, pillows, blankets is a popular choice for glamping!

Gypsy Camp is located on a 120 acre working farm near Shenandoah National Park. It sits above our working farm in a pine forest with fall and winter views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Drive in access allows campers to pitch up to 4 tents on tent pads or on the forest floor. We provide a picnic table, fire ring with cooking grate and a small amount of firewood. This is a primitive site and no potable water, flushing toilets or hot showers are provided. We do offer a small hand/dishwashing station with non-potable water, a small outdoor covered changing station with a camp toilet that uses bio bags and a solar outdoor shower during summer months. Campers have access to our farm trails, pond, river property and farm store which provides Animal Welfare Approved beef, pork, chicken, lamb and eggs from our farm, as well as local artist, soaps, SNP souvenirs and camping essentials. We offer some farm experiences by appointment and have rental equipment available for our guests.

Wisteria Camp near SNP

Wisteria Camp is part of a 120-acre working farm. Unlike our farm road, which is long and narrow. This site has its own private entrance off a paved road and is the only spot on our farm which we allow small RVs or trailers. Please note that access to our farm and farm store is via a 3/4 mile walking trail or driving (no RVs) approximately one mile. Wisteria is located near Shenandoah National Park's, White Oak Canyon (15 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads and is walking distance (0.5 mile) to a vineyard and brewery, Blue Quartz Winery and Shotwell Run Brewery. SNP Skyline Drive can be accessed via Thornton Gap (25 minutes) or Swift Run Gap (35 minutes). Our farm is Certified Animal Welfare Approved and offers a small farm store, cute animals, walking trails, pond and farm tours. Our guests have access to our private 3-acre property on the Robinson River, which is a stock trout stream. This site is suitable for small RVs, camping vans and trucks, small trailers and car camping with or without tents. Turn around space is narrow and we recommend vehicle/trailer length of less than 30'. The driveway is accessible with 2WD but if you are pulling a trailer, one short steep hill may require AWD or 4WD. The site is on a small hill with a little meadow area and surrounded by woods. It is extremely private compared to a typical campground, however it is located close to the main road and has houses which can be seen during winter months. We have opened this site to allow access to our farm for those with trailers who otherwise would not be able to stay. If you are looking for a tent or campervan site that is very private please consider one of our other sites, Birdsong, Gypsy and Butterfly. We do not have electric or water at this site (yet) but do provide a sink with non-potable water for dishes and handwashing. A picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill and a small amount of firewood, is provided. We rent camping equipment and have some add-ons for this site. Butterfly Camp is located on a 120-acre working farm in the heart of Madison County near Old Rag Mountain and Shenandoah National Park. Butterfly camp has one level tent pad and the OPTION to add the glamping cabin. The cabin will not be booked separately if you choose to only tent camp. We are no longer offering Tipi tent rentals on the farm and this is our solution to accommodate those guests who which to glamp. This campsite is suitable for four guests. The space is very private, has mountain views and offers a campfire with cooking grill, small handwashing/dish sink, a small table and chairs, and a changing station with a portable toilet using biobags and a solar shower during warm weather. The glamping cabin which can be added at an additional cost per night is a perfect addition for two guests not wanting to setup a tent. The large covered porch offers a sitting area, outdoor kitchen space, and a covered solar shower stall. Inside it has a queen size memory foam bed, all linens are included, as well as cookout camping essentials, like cast iron, plates, cups, campfire coffee pots, and utensils. *There is no electricity or running water at the cabin. We do provide solar lanterns and non-potable water at the site. Potable water is located near the farm store. The cabin is pet friendly with a fee. Please note we have very strict regulations regarding other animals on our farm and all guests' pets, service animals, emotional support or any creatures that may be traveling with you, must be approved. This is a working farm, with livestock guardians, farm dogs and cats, and various livestock and poultry that can free roam. Our farm is Certified Animal Welfare Approved and offers a small farm store, with our beef, chicken, pork, lamb, eggs and wool, as well as seasonal produce, charcuterie, plus lots of local and organic items. The farm offers walking trails, a pond, farm tours and experiences and access to our river property. Located just minutes to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in Shenandoah National Park. 25 minutes to the Thornton Gap Entrance of Skyline Drive and 35 minutes to Swift Run Gap Entrance. We are walking distance (less than a mile) to a brewery and winery using our farm trails and backroads. Rental equipment, including tents, sleeping pads, camp stoves, hammocks and setup is available. Moonshine Camp is located up a small valley near the old spring where moonshine was made back in the day. This walk-in site is an easy 1/10 mile walk from the parking area. The small glamping cottage has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the woods. It comes with a queen memory foam mattress, linens, blankets and pillows. A small outdoor cooking and food prep space which includes, a small washing sink, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Cook over the firepit with a built-in camp grill. The camping space is in the woods, surrounded by ferns, near a small spring and has a small table and chairs for two, rechargeable lanterns, a handwashing station and a covered changing area, with a portable toilet using biobags. We also provide a food storage cooler and some fun moonshine books and reading material. Firewood is available for purchase on site. The space is suitable for two adults without pets. Our barn apartment located in the heart of Madison County, Virginia on a 120-acre working farm is just a short drive to Old Rag Mountain, White Oak Canyon and Shenandoah National Park. The property includes hiking trails, a pond to sit by and relax, farm experiences and The Farm Store at Watercress which offers our Animal Welfare Approved eggs and meat, breakfast baskets, fresh seasonal produce, local items and souvenirs from Shenandoah National Park. The studio apartment, located on the second floor above our equipment shed, requires climbing a flight of stairs. Outside is a small deck and bridge to an outdoor firepit area, setup with a table, chairs and propane grill. Inside the open space has a queen size bed, futon couch, ceiling fan, pool table, gas fireplace (available in winter months only), large screen television with a large selection of DVDs (no cable or streaming). The efficiency kitchen/bar area has a full-size refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, convection/microwave oven and induction cooktop, coffee pot/grinder, toaster and is fully equipped with dishes, pots, pans, utensils and a few spices and oils. There is one small bathroom, with a standup rain shower. All towels and linens are provided. The apartment faces east and offers mountain view in the winter and overlooks our main garden and farm store area. Our resident goats, zebu, mini donkey, Buster Brown and his pet pig George live behind this building. Please note NO PETS or animals of ANY kind are allowed in this building due to the close proximity of our livestock guardian dog, farm animals and our resident cats who live in this building. *** Our resident cats and dogs are allowed in this unit, when it is used by the family, so if you have allergies to animals this might not be the place for you. Our guests have access to our three-acre river property on the Robinson River, which is a stock trout steam, located less than 3 miles from the main farm. We also offer tubes to rent during the warm months. Please note that the area surrounding area has limited cell phone service. Please take this time to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors! Old Rag Mountain Trail, a 10 min drive, requires a permit March 1 - November 30. This studio is our temporary replacement for The Sawmill Cottage which sold.

For us, Birdsong is "glamping" -- having a flush toilet, a shower stall (solar bag), a covered cooking area supplied with utensils and CAST IRON PANS, a fire pit, and a picnic table is a dream come true, and we enjoyed all of it. Animal lovers will enjoy meeting the crew down around the farm store. Jen is a lovely and generous host.

Jennifer was super responsive leading up to the trip and gave wonderful recommendations about rainy-day activities near the camp area. The campsite was very private and extremely well stocked. The tent pad can fit 2-3 small (1-2 person) tents or 1-2 larger (4-6 person) tents; there are other flattish spots on the site where you could pitch additional tents. The firepit even had a twisting grate that can rotate on or off! Our little Prius had no trouble with the gravel roads despite the wet. A feral/farm cat named Sylvester adopted us when we went to visit the farm store and followed us all the way back to our campsite looking for snuggles (adorable). Jennifer was a wonderful host, the farm property itself was gorgeous, and I hope we can come back sometime.

My husband and I had such a great stay here! The land was beautiful and the site was in such a good location. Even though there was rain during our stay, it was easy to make the best of it. Jen mapped out all the best trails and restaurants so we were able to escape the rain at Shotwell Run Brewery for dinner and drinks. She even went out of her way and helped us get dry firewood. After the rain died down we made a fire and met one of the sweet farm dogs, Willow, who wandered over to our site.

Absolutely beautiful location near Shenandoah National Park, but a quick and easy drive from Washington, DC. Our Girl Scouts love camping in the woods at Landon Farm. While there are several campsites, they're far apart and you get your own piece of paradise. Birdsong campsite is a great fit for people who aren't quite ready to rough it, but are looking for a more woodsy experience than glamping. Host Jennifer's communication and thoughtfulness really make the place special, as do the wonderful trails through the woods on her property. Visiting the farm animals and central garden and pond is our favorite part. Can't wait to return!

Amazing experience. Great location near Old Rag Mtn and Cedar Run waterfall. Brewery across the street from entrance. Easy to get to. No cell service for 15 miles leading to campsite, which was a shock, but a good thing. Arrived, Jennifer hanging out at campfire at beginning of trails to camp sites. Short 0.3 mile hike to Fiddlehead campsite. Very secluded and couldn't hear any other campsites. Campsite setup with separate area for tent and separate area for toilet, both away from campfire and area with table and some kitchen supplies. Perfect setting near a small creek. Loved the animals. The wizard trail was a little disappointing but still a nice hike. Probably our own confusion, but we thought there was a lookout at top of hill. Would definitely come again. Also a perfect little store to pick up some extras. Grabbed some cheese, olives and some fresh okra to cook over the fire. Place is a hidden gem.

I loved tent camping with my family on Jennifer's land. It was quiet and private. The kids loved the animals and getting to feed the chickens was a highlight. The farm dogs were lovely, especially Willow. I'd love to know how Jennifer managed to get her so friendly. It was also excellently located for quick trips off the farm for the kiddos to give them a nice change in scenery. We will be back next year.

We loved our visit. Fiddlehead Camp is extremely comfortable, and feels very remote even with the short hike. I was also really pleasantly surprised that despite camping next to a creek, we weren’t mobbed by mosquitos. The area is also gorgeous, and we loved getting to meet some of the farm animals. Shout out to Jerry the cat, who liked to join us on our morning coffee walks. We would definitely stay again, and are eager to try out one of the car camping sites next!

The farm tour was great and the host Jen was very responsive and friendly! This is a very remote camp site and was more rugged than I expected. Granted I have not done a lot of camping and this was my first “back country” experience. The hike up to the campsite is listed as 0.3 miles but it was mostly uphill and honestly kind of strenuous. We found it challenging to get all our things up the hill to the campsite and if I returned I would use the service provided to help with settling in for the extra charge. The site itself was nice! Fire ring area was equipped with a grate to cook over and there was plenty of room for our 4 person tent. There were no other people around and there were definitely animals (coyotes and others) out in the nearby woods. I would recommend this site to people who are used to doing this type of camping but it was a bit more backcountry than I prefer.

We had an awesome time at Birdsong Camp despite lots of rain. Jen was an amazing host. Our kids really enjoyed visiting and feeding the farm animals and Jen gave us great recommendations for places to go, hikes, and places to eat. The campsite itself was awesome. The tent pad was one of the nicest tent pads ever and loved having the covered toilet and sink area.

Wisteria Camp near SNP
We had such a wonderful trip here. The kids had a blast the whole time, and they were especially happy to meet Willow. Honestly, it made the trip feel extra special for them. They even said they could sleep better at night knowing Willow was watching over them while they slept 😂 Really peaceful place and such a great experience for our family. We’d love to come back!

Birdsong Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
Would 100% come back and plan to! Owners are extremely welcoming! Birdsong site was private, had great trail access to explore the property and see the animals, and had a very nice bathroom/kitchen sink/shower situation. The dog even paid us multiple visits which was a nice treat!

Birdsong Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
Had a wonderful weekend at Birdsong camp! Highly recommend checking out Farm Store & taking the farm tour with the host, Jennifer. We loved meeting & feeding the animals and learning some history of the farm. The alpacas, Diamond & Luna, were our favorite. We also had a very fun visit from Willow, the sweetest farm dog with the best stick fetching zoomies you have ever seen! Thank you Jennifer for sharing your beautiful farm & space with us, we will be back!

Sparrow Hammock Camp
Our little family loved Sparrow Camp at Landon Farm! Jen is very kind and welcoming and we (especially our 4 yo) loved meeting all her animals. The campsite was so peaceful and secluded- we would go back!

Butterfly Camp: Near Old Rag Mountain Shenandoah NP
What a fantastic spot! This feels like an absolute hidden gem. We had such a great time wandering the farm and exploring and seeing the animals. The farm tour was so sweet and my kids loved it as did us adults! The campsite was absolutely beautiful and immaculate with great space for our tent and everything we needed. We will definitely be returning. Such an easy drive from Charlottesville or DC and close to so much amazing hiking! We can't wait to return!
