Enjoying 8 acres of the simpler life with our children and farm animals. Offering 12 campsites and A-frame cabin. Some tent sites on 5% grade. See us on Facebook!! The last 4 years of hosting have been an adventure! (Including meeting with guests, listening to suggestions, and often working all night on property improvements.) We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce country life and the Shenandoah Valley to travelers from around the world. We love animals, planting gardens, preserving quality food, and hiking in both of the world-famous national parks here. We’ve put the final touches on a new all-season full capacity hot shower bathhouse with flush toilet, A-frame cabin, bigger electrical service, and wider road entrance for 30ft RVs, and Wi-Fi. We are located 45 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park. If you are a hiker or outdoor adventure seeker, or just want to experience local culture and history, please reach out to us and we will help you plan your trip. We want you to make many great memories while you are in the area! Find us on our website or send us a message. Melrose Cavern

Tent site · Sleeps 6
This site is a popular choice for compact vehicles and setups. Melrose Caverns is the name of a popular cavern a few minutes from our camp. It is an historical civil war era cavern with many carvings inscribed by union soldiers. It has a really nice, stone and timber event center

Big Meadow

92% (30)
Tent site · Sleeps 5
This site is on a grade, and ideal for campers with smaller sized vehicles who want to set up a few tents in natural shade. Big Meadow is a little more private than our other terraced forest sites, although you may still have camper neighbors within fifty feet on some weekends. If you are bringing more than one vehicle, you may want to park along the edge of the forest to make room for other guests. Big Meadow is the name of our area's most popular Shenandoah National Park welcome center and campground. (Skyline Drive) Big Meadows and nearby hikes to waterfalls are a "must see" first destination if you are headed to the Park.

Brown's Gap (Firepit campsite)

90% (24)
Tent site · Sleeps 5
Recent improvements to this site make setting up a tent easier, and the retainer wall top provides sitting and dining space.  There is plenty of room for 3 tents, and extra parking. Campsite surrounded by lots of trees located near top of our campground. If you want additional privacy or shade, you may push your tent area back into the woods a little more. Some tenting areas are on a grade, as we are located on a hillside. I've included a few fun photos of our farm and Grampy's Village Zoo, and a recent hike to Nelson County. This site is named after a really nice pet-friendly hike along a stream, accessible from Harrisonburg's Port Republic Rd. You can take the hike all the way to the Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive.

Dark Hollow Falls

100% (16)
Tent site · Sleeps 5
A favorite site for campers who want a little more privacy. Located at the top of our camp, mostly accessible by smaller vehicles. There are 3 fairly level pads available for tent set ups. Surrounded by trees. Don't miss a day trip to Dark Hollow Falls, in the Shenandoah National Park. I've included a number of photos of this immense, staircase accessible cascade.

High Knob

RV/tent site · Sleeps 5 · Vehicles under 26 ft
This site is perfect for small to medium RVs and is near the camp bath house. High Knob is located amongst trees and brush that offer privacy. There are other campsites about 75 feet away. Water, Wi-Fi, 30A Electric hookup, and sewer tank are available. If you plan on setting up a tent, please book one of our tent sites. We named this site after one of our favorite hikes to an old fire lookout tower here in Rockingham County, on the West Virginia boundary line. There is a nice swimming hole on route to High Knob. (Rt 33 West from Harrisonburg, VA.)

This site is located on the lower meadow (second RV pad on left when you first come up our drive) and is accessible in most weather conditions. Maximum Travel Trailer length about 32'. There are two other nearby RV sites located in the lower meadow. Please message me when you are ready to dispose of sewer waste , and we will provide a tank. We named this site after the famous Kennedy Peak mountaintop hike and hang glider launch in nearby Page County

Blue Ridge Tunnel

83% (21)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 10 · Vehicles under 32 ft
Open meadow, on right side of driveway, as you get in our gates. Roughly 50x100 foot rectangular grassy area, fairly level, along our border fence. All weather accessible. Lots of shade from boundary trees. Mostly quiet, but within view of a few camping guests & neighbors on busy weekends. We named this site after my kid's favorite bike ride through the famous Afton tunnel. (45 minute drive south)

Yellow Cliffs Mountain

91% (17)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 5 · Vehicles under 18 ft
Improvements almost completed!!! Popular site for small to medium sized vehicles, near the bathhouse, and easy to access. A very neat, comfortable site with 50 feet -75 feet space from other guests. (Neighboring buildings several hundred feet away.) We’ve just added a breaker wall, fire pit, and level area for a 12x12 tent. Named for our beloved Yellow Cliff mountain and overlook, near New Market Gap. (Ask about a guided tour to this very unique and breathtaking hike)

Silver Lake

69% (8)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 5 · Vehicles under 22 ft
This is our largest boondocker spot in the upper meadow, with lots of shade. Enjoy a fairly flat gravel pad large enough to accommodate a 22 foot camper. Firepit included. Bath house is within a hundred feet. We named this site after Silver Lake Mill in Dayton, Virginia. Great tourist shop and up close view of a civil war era feed mill and lake. While you're in Dayton, check out the Dayton Community of Shops for a really rich local-culture shopping experience. I've lived here for 16 years and always find something new and special at the Dayton Community of Shops.

Fridley's Gap

92% (6)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 10 · Vehicles under 30 ft
Fridley's Gap site is a wide open meadow area, located immediately to your left when you first get into our property. There is room for several vehicles and tents. It's a good choice for campers who need lots of space, but no electrical hook up. You can set up tents under the trees along the fence line. Accessible year around. We named this site after this area's most popular hike and rock scramble. Fridleys Gap is located about 15 minutes from here. It has a swimming hole and, further in, a great overlook. I've taken my kids rock scrambling many times at Fridleys Gap

Crabtree Falls

90% (29)
Vehicle site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 32 ft
Located in the lower meadow, our Crabtree Falls site is accessible year round. Well suited for your medium sized TT. Larger RVs will need blocking . There is another full hookup site adjacent to this site. Please contact me when you wish to dispose of your sewer waste. We will provide a portable tank (Blue waste tank pictured) Site photos are from our guests, and local adventure seeking. I named this site after Crabtree Falls in Nelson County, Virginia. Crabtree falls is the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. We highly recommend a visit to this amazing gift of nature.

Cabin · Sleeps 3 · 2 bedrooms · 2 beds · 1 toilet
Welcome to Reddish Knob!! This gem is nice and private, with nearby access to a brand-new camp bathhouse with choice of modern privy or composting toilet and year around hot shower. Very enjoyable little vacation spot with 1 queen size bed on the first level, and a twin in the loft. (accessible via a ladder) Great A/C, Wi-Fi, coffee maker, refrigerator, oven, water hydrant, and heat. Super comfy. Come enjoy a weekend surrounded by nature. Reddish Knob is the name of a former fire tower peak I love to hike on the border of West Virginia. It's a high elevation, 12-mile loop which you can also access by car or van.
