Our stay at Tina’s place could not have been better. Tina was so responsive and helpful. She answered every question and also had firewood and a fire pit ready. Her place was easy to access and was so close to Carvin’s Cove and downtown Roanoke. We throughly enjoyed the peaceful beauty of her campsite. We also took Tina’s advice to use the dump station at Camping World which was only a few miles away. We would give Tina’s place 5 stars, and we definitely plan to return soon.

Tina’s place is outstanding! Just secluded enough to ensure peace and quiet, but close enough to run out and get something you forgot. Tina herself was a wonderful host and was ready with information and local knowledge of the area. Much appreciated!
We had a 22’ Travel Trailer pulled with a 2004 Expedition. Using low range the truck easily backed the camper up the hill, but I can understand it being more difficult without. Still, a wonderful spot and a great host. I look forward to coming back!

The stay was fine, but we were asked to leave Thursday night, even though we were booking until Friday at 11am, in which was check out because she had new people coming in the morning. Left us scrabbling to find new accommodations for one night.. she did credit us, but it was still an inconvenience.

Stopped here in the Sprinter on my way south. Very convenient location, easy directions, and Tina stayed in touch along the way. Very quiet and peaceful setting.

Tina's spot worked really well for us. Convenient location, easy to find, yet nice and quiet. Having the 30A available was a big plus as well on a cold night. Would stay again for sure.

The site is close to Roanoke and convenient to 81. I was staying here to mtn bike at Carvin’s Cove.
Unfortunately, my SUV’s engine, even with 4WD, wasn’t not powerful enough to back into the spot. The road leading to the spot is very steep and you have to maneuver quite a bit. Im fairly new to camping with my travel trailer but this is my 6th trip this year and I’ve never had any other issues elsewhere. I recommend you have a V6 engine if you are going to attempt.
The neighbors on both sides were visibly upset about having campers staying there (they both stared me down, and Tina told me that the man next door was especially not happy about it.
The spot is in Tina’s front yard and the neighbors yards are very close on either side. I didn’t feel welcome because of this so just stayed in my camper while I was there.
While the surrounding area is beautiful, I also didn’t feel that the site offered much of a view.
I did appreciate the electric and water. The water is provided by a series of connected hoses coming down from her home spigot.

We did not have an opportunity to meet Tina face to face, but found her to be super communicative and accommodating. Her camping spot was peaceful and pretty. Also loved the close proximity to 81… close but did not hear the highway. Thx Tina!!

Very convenient location for a quick stop along the interstate between destinations. Great communication and prompt. Electricity was a plus for a hot summer night. We were offered water but declined as we had plenty on hand. Advice, enter the address into gps yourself, do not follow the open for map option as it will send you down a narrow gravel road on the opposite side of the interstate. You wouldn’t want to go there in the dark for sure😳. Also, there was a nice grassy area for our pups to get out some pent up energy. Thank you!

Tina was very helpful and stayed in touch. Having used private RV pads a few times knew what to expect when Tina provided directions on how to pull up. She greeted us as soon as we reached and everything was as expected. A little steep driveway but not difficult at all. Water and electricity hookups were a plus.
Kids and us spent 2 great days on our road trip on Blue Ridge Parkway stopping at Tina’s place.

Wonderful host and site for a quick stop off 81. I will recommend not using Apple Maps to navigate to it as it had me miles away from the actual location. Tina is a great host and very communicative. My wife, doggo and I felt safe and private sleeping in her driveway (camp site.)

Everything was as explained on Hipcamp website. Electric and water were waiting for me. There was a trash can to dispose of my trash. The site was perfect for my little camper. It felt private and secure. In the morning, there were birds singing and the lilacs were just beginning to bloom. 🙂

Great spot! Took us in late at night after we were tired, and facing several issues mechanically and needed off the road quickly. Our vehicle had some mechanical issues and every campground in the area was booked. Through googling and luck we found Tina’s. I reached out and gave a brief explanation and asked if she could take us in. She was gracious enough to help us out! Thanks Tina!

I have stayed at Tina‘s on numerous occasions now. As a solo, female traveler, I feel very safe on her property. And she is very quick with texting back with any replies to questions. Her location is a short ride off of the main highway and far enough that you can get a good nights rest.
Thank you for being such a great host to travelers!

What an epic spot this was! Not only is the spot surrounded by beautiful nature, trees and hill top views, but the host is a HOOT! We had moving issues and didn’t get until about 9pm and Tina made sure we had light and helped us get situated! We found out we were from the same area and instantly clicked with our Midwest charm! Not only that, the spot is beautiful and set up with water and 30 amp power, the neighborhood was so cute, I loved walking around looking at all the landscapes and gardens. It was so serene and I wish we could’ve stayed SO MUCH LONGER! I hope you love this one as much as I did! Thanks for your hospitality, Tina and I can’t wait to go on a few hikes together! 🩷

Tina's spot is wonderful. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. If you like to hike, it is roughly 30 minutes from the trail to McAfee Knob and Dragon's Tooth.
