At the end of a long and winding gravel driveway, you will find the quiet oasis of Stillbrook Farm.
We are located in the sleepy community of ‘Winterpock’ which located in Western Chesterfield County, VA. Winterpock is steeped in history and exudes both quiet and therapeutic energy. In the 1800’s it was the center of a thriving community fueled by the nearby Clover Hill coal mines and linked by railroad to Richmond and beyond.
We are 10 minutes to Pocahontas State Park, 30 minutes to RVA, and a little over 60 minutes to Charlottesville,
Stillbrook is a small horse farm, with twelve horses that you will find frolicking pastures throughout the property. Our farm is the perfect mix of fields, forest, and streams. Bordered on two sides by the Surline Branch… one of our favorite activities is wading through the broom and finding where it meets the Winterpock Creek.
We have several tent sites located throughout the property depending on what you are looking for. Most are located near the creek. Camp fires are permitted inside the existing fire rings with all wood and kindling provided.
We have beautiful two-story, 10-stall horse barn with a bathroom (sink/toilet), Keurig with locally sourced coffee, refrigerator, and large room over our barn in case of inclement weather.
While here, you will hear owls, Whippoorwills, quail, coyotes, horses, our friendly chickens, and neighbor cows.
Come, be our guest!Pitch your tent in ‘The Meadow’ and make yourself at home!! You will be steps away from the Surline Branch which you may see some turtles sunning themselves if you’re lucky. Surrounded by quiet forest and a small grass meadow, you will find this site to be a quiet oasis.
This site is a quick walk from parking (less than 2 minutes), has a picnic table, four chairs, fire ring with provided wood and kindling. You will also have access to our deliciously fresh well water, as well as sink, toilet, mini fridge, and Keurig with local coffee in our horse barn. In case of inclement weather, we also have some nearby run-ins than can be utilized to escape the rain.
