Good, But
This is a great site with good potential. It’s a small campground right beside the New River. Easy access from I 81 in SW Va. It does the work. There are some very old permanent campers here in bad repair. There is major bridge work and the highway noise can be loud at times. BUT it is entertaining to watch the big equipment. The New is a wonderful River to fish and boat/kayak/canoe. This particular spot is probably not the best for swimming but those spots are not far. It is close to parks, a major hospital, and at least 3 colleges and universities. I’d recommend for a 1-3 night stay.

Cheap for a reason
This site looks nice in the pictures but in reality it’s a grassy embankment behind a gas station, next to an RV park, and virtually under a busy highway bridge. The campsite had tons of trash strewn about, and the bathrooms were absolutely awful. I cannot overstate how bad they were. Reeked of cigarettes, drywall and trash on the floors, sink faucets that sprayed every direction but down… Stay if you must but he warned.

The view of the water was great and the campground was very quiet at night. Not a whole lot of activity or partying.

Horrible camping experience.
I was very disappointed when I got here. The clerk behind the counter didn't know anything about my reservation and had to call someone. Then, I've got a reservation for a specific campsite, he says to just go behind the building and pick a spot and as it turns out it, the whole campground is right under the bridge of Interstate 81 so there was highway noise the whole time. The store was way over priced ($6.00 for an 8# bag of ice, $15.00 for 8 pieces of firewood) and they weren't very friendly. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Hosts not very friendly. I messaged host I had a couple questions I didn't get a reply. I called number listed and couldn't get any help they hung up on me and I tried to call back and got no answer. So no I wouldn't recommend to anybody. I spent money and didn't stay and can't get refund.

Okay spot
This was a nice spot along the river but it was right under a busy overpass that was really loud at night. There were also multiple RVs around that seemed to have full time residence and had garbage and personal belongings surrounding the site which did not look good.
