This camp sote was perfect for the colder fall weather. Not too much other campers, so we nearly had the place to ourselves. Yurt was the best feature, in my opinion. We got some rain both mornings and did not have to worry a bit. Got there late and were relieved we didn't have to set up tent and such. Campsite was nice with some easy water access you could rinse kitchenware off and even bath I can imagine during hot, humid summer months. Took a pair of waders just to fool around and discovered the creek bed to be relatively shallow. Take that as you wish with whatever activity you wish to pursue. Firepit was also decent, you could have a nice manageable fire. The only thing I would say that I would change different but cannot for obvious reasons is the train by the river. Pretty loud. Owner can't help it either, so he's at no fault. Other than that this is a great site.

On the pricier side, your total just to park comes out to roughly $50 since hipcamp takes a sizable greedy fee ontop of the site rate. This property is massive and the views are pretty nice on top of being mostly quiet too (river,occasional train). It's definitely a photo worthy space with all the decorations around too.
If you're just looking for a cheap place to park, this doesn't really fit. If you're looking for more of a picturesque space this might be for you.

We spend 1 nigth at the yurt and i can say it was a beautiful night. Location is easy to find (just follow the instructions), yurt was clean and pleasant. I might say only downside is the toilet (well informed about it so i brought my own) Sean is very nice and responsive.

Great camp site right on the river. Big open field surrounded by hills. Easy to follow directions. They are building new bathrooms, which look great.

Beautiful location with river access - convenient to the Shenandoah National Park entrance and Front Royal. They are making some nice Rv campsites and cute bath house. We will be back!

Camping on Sean’s land was very convent with its location being so close to the front royal entrance of the park. There was ample amount of space for our tent and vehicle. The campsites are close together, so keep that in mind. There is little privacy, but we didn’t mind with our main goal being visiting Shenandoah NP.

My girlfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary here! It was absolutely perfect. The yurt was well kept and cozy, and the fire pit was in great condition! We loved spending time by the river and going to the nearby Halloween Forest Walk!

GREAT location. Just miles from Shenandoah National Park and Front Royal. And it was right on the river. We did some fly fishing, but didn't see any fish on this trip. There are several Yurts, and Tent & RV spaces. Looks like they are near to having a bathhouse ready soon. Had 3 porta potties close to the campsites with solar lights to help you find your way at night. Only thing that would have been helpful is a grill grate to put over the fire for cooking. I flew in and couldn't bring all my normal camping gear. Overall, we had a great time. Probably will go back and try our luck fishing agian soon.

I booked one of the bell tents. I arrived after dark, and it was great to not have to worry about setting up camp. The tent was thoughtfully appointed. A comfortable inflated mattress, pillows, a blanket, area rugs and a side table with pre charged LED lights inside. Outside there was a clean fire pit, picnic table, chairs and tiki torches. The location was amazing, right on the river, and great for star gazing. It’s also only 10 minutes to town.
Dont come here expecting all the bells and whistles - yet. There’s no running water and the bathrooms are (clean) portajohns You can tell the owner is investing a lot in this place, as I passed a bathhouse, numerous RV sites with electric hookups and what looked to be a new clubhouse/office all under construction. It would be great to see what this place has to offer in a few months.
The site is right across the river from train tracks, but I only heard a train go by once at 10pm.
All in all a great site with huge potential. I’m looking forward to returning.

Not a lot of privacy as all sites are in view, especially if it’s full, but still plenty of space to set up your tent, sit by the fire pit, and enjoy the Shenandoah River. There is some road noise when trucks go by and the occasional train (a fact of life almost anywhere along the river) so bring earplugs if that bothers you. Porta Johns were clean and stocked with TP and hand sanitizer and picking up my pre-purchased firewood was a simple. This site will be even better once the bathhouse is finished.
There were only a few campers and yurt-dwellers when I was there so I was all alone on the tent side so I really enjoyed my stay.

We loved our riverfront yurt! We arrived late at night and it was so nice having everything set up and ready for sleep. The propriety is beautiful and Sean was very proactive with specific directions. Would recommend and stay again.

Stayed here for a night. Campground was clean. Close to shenandoah skyline drive entrance. Getting to the campground was fun, following a gravel road down a hill and into the camp. Will come back again if we go hiking/exploring shenandoah national park.

This was a lovely glamping site right on the Shenandoah River. Being by the river was definitely our favorite part. It was the first thing that we suddenly open the yurt in the morning and then we got to indulge in water activities throughout the rest of the day. Do you normally do traditional tent camping but this was a nice change of peace being able to show up and having everything already set up. We enjoyed the fire pit with chairs already there, and all this alert, powered lights from string lights outside near the fire to around the yurt, and inside of the yurt as well. We also enjoy the river walk and then it was so close to many other activities and hikes, including Shenandoah National Park. You were able to bring our foldable kayaks and use them in the river and take a break swimming as well. We thought there were a bunch of folks who also wanted kayaks and from a local company. There are no lifeguards or staff on site so please bring those lifejacket if you have one or get one ASAP. It was very quiet and relaxing, but it wasn’t cloudy. We could see the beautiful starry night sky. While we were there, I was already brainstorming possibilities of coming back with friends. It’s great just for time to connect with nature disconnect from technology and also has wonderful romantic aspects or friendship ones if you’re there with them.

It was nice, nothing amazing to see. Someone camped in what I assume was the shared river view and moved the seating, so we could not enjoy it the next morning.
The trains going by were a surprise but I believe it only happened three times.

We had a great time at South River Farm. We stayed in one of the yurts. They are set up nicely by the river which made for a great setting to sit by the fire with your book and coffee to sip. Our yurt was clean with fairy lights and pillows as an added touch of comfort. We will definitely be back!
