In a remote valley, along the banks of Craig's Creek, just north of Roanoke VA, the property includes mature hardwood forest, pasture, and an 1830s log cabin where we live. We love to share this special place with visitors, and have some basic amenities for campers. The campsites are at the edge of a large pasture and just a few steps from Craig Creek and our big swimmin' hole. Totally secluded in a remote valley - no houses or roads in sight (but our cabin is a short walk through the woods if you need something), no cell service for most providers, but within a short drive of Roanoke and Blacksburg, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

We love Maple Knoll and just got back from our fourth trip there. The site is a huge grassy flat area and is nicely shaded in the afternoon . The additional 2 porta potty 's are great. Craig's Creek is so beautiful here we keep coming back for more!

Walnut Bottom
Had a great time with our 3 little ones. Was nice having shaded area and plenty of space. Easy access to the creek and kids had blast in the swimming hole and catching crawdads. Property is spacious and even with campers at the other 2 sites felt very private. Will definitely be back again.

Walnut Bottom
Camping with the family!
I had an amazing time on Ned’s Land. We stayed at the Walnut Bottom site & it was really nice. It was a short walk to the swimming hole & not far from the rest of the sites but a good distance in between. My stay was with a large group ( 12 adults & 4 kids ) & we had 5 tents set up on this site. The Swimming Hole water was really cold but it was definitely worth the dip. Host is very nice & will work with you. Thank you for letting us stay on your land. We had an amazing time spending quality time together & just enjoying our time before the smallest sibling heads to college in california; thank you Ned for everything & i will be recommending your site to anyone who’s looking for a place to camp !
