This was a 55-acre farm, split in half to accommodate a bypass through Charlottesville, so the previous owners had to give up half the land, and actually moved the house down to the other half of the property! They had to build a land bridge to get to the new home site, so they turned the bridge into a dam and created a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. My wife Stephanie and I bought the property in early 2017 and have turned it into a private horse farm, adding pastures, a riding ring, and 6-stall barn. There are ~21 horses who live on the property. The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Shopping Center, and 4 miles from the University of Virginia.

Site 4 - Tent / RV site
Working farm, convenient to city
This is a pretty farm. The campsites are nicely separated from each other for privacy. #4 is quite convenient --mostly flat with sunny and shaded areas and a table. Out the back of the site you can walk to the main house in a few minutes. Having a full bathroom available to all the sites, plus a source of potable water, is a really nice feature, although competing for its use on the weekend can be a bit challenging. We especially enjoyed the quiet of midweek. There's a farmers' market just over the hill, and all the amenities of Charlottesville are only 10 or 15 minutes away.

Site 6 - Remote tent site
I stayed on site 6 and it was perfect for my camping trip. It was secluded and easy to find, mostly flat, a fire ring, a single main tree and lots of trees along the edge if you wanted to set up a hammock. The farm itself is beautiful and I enjoyed walking around the horse farm and to the house and meeting all the dogs. I wish I could’ve stayed longer and I will definitely be back!!

Site 6 - Remote tent site
Loved staying here! Site 6 was very private and quiet, felt like there was no one around us even though there were other campers at the other sites and we were so close to Cville. Great location and beautiful site, looking forward to staying here again!

Site 5 - Ridgetop meadow
Site 5 - Spacious and beautiful!
Wow this place is just picture perfect. I love the view of the whole farm with all the horses, it looks really magical and peaceful especially on an early morning walk. Site 5 is so big and private, with a BEAUTIFUL sunset view. The grounds are very clean. The bath house is very clean as well. The only small thing I would add is to have more toilet paper supply (it was out when we used the toilet). Other than that everything else was perfect. Thank you for a great time!

Site 6 - Remote tent site
I had a great experience tent camping on Bob’s farm! I got a little lost upon arrival and he helped show me where site 6 was. The campsite was very private and shaded which was nice in the heat. The bathroom was clean and I didn’t have any trouble finding it. I enjoyed seeing the horses and being so close to town. If I ever find myself in Charlottesville again I will definitely be staying here again!!
