What a lovely spot on Laura's property. The initial walk down the trail to the cabin is a journey in itself. You come upon a glade of ferns that surrounds the creek, and there's the cabin with a meadow of tall cloud-like flowers beyond it. The setup was thoughtful, cozy, and functional. There was a ton of privacy, too.
We made any meals on the wood stove, and enjoyed fires in the awesome firepit. Laura made sure the porch was stocked with firewood before we arrived. The Twin Oaks hammock (nice) overlooks the meadow and was perfect for reading and napping. The outhouse was as clean and inviting as an outhouse possibly could be. There were spare linens supplied and the bed was comfortable and came with pillows. We didn't have to prepare much as the cabin was supplied with all of the basics, even an igloo of potable water out back. The dish washing set up was easy to use. Some fun creatures were seen like deer, hawks, frogs, and lots of cool insects. Crickets sang us to sleep each night. In the morning the sun reflects off of the creek onto the trees nearby.
We tried to walk the trail on the property but reached a point where it was impossible to decipher how to continue, perhaps due to fallen trees. We spent a while wandering around trying to scout out where the trail went but had to turn around. As other reviews said, there are distant noises- some neighbors, cars passing, dogs barking incessently. I wasn't bothered and would love to come visit again and meet the goats!
