We had such a great time at the off grid cabin! We would definitely stay here again and we actually now have put having a cabin like this on our bucket list. It was nice to have a sturdy shelter that differed from other camping sites. No electricity/running water in the cabin, but there was a gas stove and gas grill for cooking food, a wood stove inside for heat (although we didn’t need it at all and it got down to 42 when we were there), an outhouse a short walk away, and a dish washing station and trash can behind the cabin. Laura provided a perfect amount of firewood for the stay and this site was incredibly private. We got to see some cows on the way in but didn’t see any of the other animals. It was very peaceful with the creek right out front and there was very minimal noise from the roads nearby. The campsite was incredibly clean- I tried to leave it better than I found it but didn’t see any litter to pick up!
Some tips for your stay:
There was a lot of poison ivy around the cabin, so I’d recommend knowing how to identify it so you can avoid it. When we got home, I found a tick on myself, so be prepared with bug spray with deet and/or long sleeves and long pants and definitely check yourself for ticks! It’s the price you pay for enjoying the outdoors, but it definitely did not make me enjoy this place less.
Even with the tick bite, we would still highly recommend staying here!
