Welcome to Longview Yurt nestled in the Shenandoah mountains! This is our family retreat we use to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a wonderful opportunity to disconnect from screens and reconnect with those around you. The yurt has been such a beautiful opportunity for us to simply relax that we decided to share it with like-minded nature-lovers! It is surrounded by nature with a gravel road running along one side of the property and a stream running along the other. The stream is technically on our neighbor's property but you can hear the calming sounds of the water running over the rocks as you relax near the picnic table or further down the property near the tree swing. The yurt is the perfect balance between comfort and camping. There's electricity, mini-frig and coffee maker, actual beds for sleeping, and plenty of space indoors to spread out for a meal or play a board game. However, please note there's NO running water so bring your own for drinking and washing dishes used. Fans are used for cooling the yurt in the summer months; there is no AC. There are plenty of outdoor adventures to be had nearby including Saint Mary's Wilderness (personal favorite!), Crabtree Falls, White Rock Falls, and Goshen Pass Natural Area Preserve. Also worth noting is Rockbridge Vineyard & Brewery is just 3 miles away!Come enjoy 1.3 acres of solitude in the Shenandoah mountains! Let this yurt serve as your basecamp for many nearby outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, or horseback riding. Or enjoy this glamping experience surrounded by sounds of nature and the trickling creek water running adjacent to the property. Conveniently located within 30 minutes of Lexington, VMI, W&L University, and Staunton, VA. Beds: 1 Queen bed and 2 Twin beds. 2 Coleman pop-up camping cots. Must provide your own linens. Cooking: There is an electric skillet inside and a gas grill outside (propane tanks provided). We provide a campfire ring, a swing, a hammock and multiple outdoor yard games. Firewood can be delivered for small additional cost. Message host for further details! For summer months , there are 3 windows and multiple fans provided to circulate the air. For cooler weather, there will be multiple space heaters provided. The neighbor's property consists of a large pasture with cows. Although there is a line of trees and a creek between the properties, you may occasionally hear or see the cows. Please do not disturb them or climb fence. The cellphone service on the property is very limited and there is no Wi-Fi provided. ** Please leave the property clean and tidy upon your departure for the next guest to enjoy. You'll find detailed information regarding check-out procedure located in the yurt.

Amazing Stay!
The Yurt experience was exceptional. Kelly was a tremendous host and the stay was great. We stayed on a night with a pour down and the sounds of the rain on the Yurt were amazing. Highly recommend this stay to anyone who is looking for a calm, peaceful night away.

We had a fantastic night in the Yurt! The decor and vibe are peaceful and beautiful, there are plenty of amenities and ways to stay warm, and it is very private despite being right next to a road. It was the perfect getaway for Thanksgiving! We did not have any phone signal at all, but we were prepared for that because Kelly warned us. We will likely be back soon!

We had a great weekend at the Yurt. We are able to check out Season’s Yield Farm nearby for their bread day and enjoyed listening to all of the birds while out on the patio, I even heard an owl a few times at night! The yurt is well equipped and communication with Kelly was very easy, however service is extremely spotty so I would recommend downloading the map of the area on google ahead of time prior to visiting. The driveway is steep, but luckily since there was no ice or snow my sedan managed just fine.

Longview Yurt Retreat
Nice Yurt, it looks just like the pictures and had plenty of space for our family of four. Grill, fire pit and a, very clean, port a potty outside. Plenty of heating for the colder months and a nice kitchen area with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate, pans, plates and silverware. Cell service was spotty so download any music you want to listen to before going or bring a radio. There is a road that goes right by the yurt but maybe 10 cars drove by day. I could only see one house from the yurt but that was through the trees and quite a distance away. The ride to and from the interstate was about 10 minutes of winding road, passing cute houses here and there. Happy we went!

Splendid Adventure
The yurt was exactly as pictured and expected! It provided a splendid balance of camping while having the creature comforts. It is tucked in your own private valley surrounded by beautiful trees (we went for the fall leaves)! While it is next to a “road” it’s a small 1.5 lane country road that we say MAYBE 5 cars a day. You are within 30 minutes of countless adventures, vineyards, hiking, apple orchards, shopping etc! The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating! I simply can’t say enough good about this slice of heaven! If you are looking to disconnect from tech (little to no Verizon signal) and reconnect with nature this is the spot for you!!!!!
