This was a beautiful camping spot and the fishing was good. We were surprised how big the fish we caught were for the size of the creek. We would definitely consider returning.

Matthew’s site is located near lots of hiking and other outdoor activities. It is tucked off of RT. 19 but you’d never know that it is so close. Fayetteville is 10 minutes away and has good beer and food, oh and shops. There are residences near the site but was no issue. The site was the perfect size for our campervan. The compost toilet was very clean, thoughtfully made and eclectic. Matthew was very responsive. We would definitely stay again.

This campsite was easy to find, great directions given by host. All modern amenities are less than 10 minutes away but it doesn't feel that way while you're at the campsite. Invest in the wood and grill they have to offer, You won't regret it. This campsite runs right along a creek, especially if you have dogs this is the place for them to play. This is not a place for you to swim as it is murky and muddy. Lots of green grass, sun and shade. We were unaware that the second campsite would have been so close, and that they would be using the porta potty near our site, I thought there was more than one, so this caused a lot of foot traffic and popping our camping bubble. And let's not forget getting the dogs involved every time they walked by. Sleeping under the Stars in the Virginia Foothills is priceless. Great communication with the host Matthew.

Great place to camp. Quite and peaceful and had some good fishing spots on a nice creek. Host is very nice and accommodating. Couldn't have been happier with the place, host and first experience with hipcamp. Will stay again.

We loved camping on Matthews land! It is so peaceful and beautiful. We watch the deer in the morning cross the field, and then turn to the river until dusk. My husband fishes and our dog explores. Evening brings another deer crossing show and an amazing night sky.
We appreciate the firewood and clean porta potty. There is a gas and a charcoal grill to rent at the site, as well as a great picnic table.
This is our absolute favorite campsite, and we always know it can be wet/rainy. That means a cooler temp all season. 👍
Matthew is a fantastic host, directions are clear and the two sites are well marked.

A great place to relax and enjoy nature before a nice night’s sleep along the creek.
The area was freshly mowed and had a great fire pit with plenty of wood.
I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay! We camped right on the river and our kids loved exploring the creek. The place is well-kept and there was plenty of firewood for our time there. We would definitely go there again.

Camping at Iron Peak Ranch was amazing! Everything was perfectly as described. We came in late at night, so the description on HipCamp was essential, and it was accurate (which was much appreciated.) The land was GORGEOUS, and we fell asleep to the running water sounds, and woke up to the most picturesque sites. Our four year old saw a baby deer frolicking through the open grass, and he won’t stop talking about it. Everything was easy and relaxing, and we’d love to stay again.

We stopped just for the night and it was very last minute. Matthew was so accommodating, responded very quickly and we realized this place is not place to stop just for the night because it makes you want to stay much longer! We will have to come back. Thank you so much Matthew for being such an accommodating host and sharing your land with us!

Booked Matthew's place for a last minute getaway to disconnect for a couple of days and it was perfect. You can tell Matthew takes very good care of his place and prides himself on providing us campers a memorable experience. Very tranquil along the water and Charlotte my GSP spent all day wearing herself out between the field chasing birds and her ball and up and down the creek. Opt in for the firewood and grill, it's totally worth it. Upon arrival there was no firewood so I messaged Matthew and a quick response back from Matthew and he had a friend show up with an F150 load of wood to use within the hour. I missed his name, but he was a really nice guy and stopped by the following day to make sure everything was okay and to ensure I had plenty of wood to use. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you again Matthew for letting us experience your property.

This is a beautiful spot right on the river. I spent two nights here and it was so peaceful. The spots are far enough apart and clean with picnic tables, fire pits and barbecues. I loved that my dogs could run around the field without having to worry about them.

What a great spot. Perfectly far away enough from civilization but really just a 10 minute drive to the grocery store.
Stunning crik, beautiful field, tranquil.
Order the fire wood. There is more than enough. Grill is stocked and read for use.
It's clear the owner takes great care of the place. I spoke with Matt and Big Country Donnie, both Rainbow friendly, and they were able to answer and assist as needed.

Awesome spot. Brand new grill on a gravel level pad right by the Brook. The hay field “road” was flat and firm even on a wet day. I could see it getting muddy with some traffic, but we had no issues in my truck camper combo. Everything was spotless, fire ring and fire wood supplied. Also not far off the highway. This def goes in my travel book for next trip north/south

Our stay at Matthew’s place was absolutely perfect! The beauty that surrounded us was so peaceful and private! Even more so than the listing described. There was a grill on site which came in handy, as we forgot to bring our Coleman stove. Staying right at the edge of the water offered many elements of nature and wildlife to enjoy. We saw deer, beavers, so many bird species and the sounds all provided were very relaxing. We can’t wait to visit again! So glad we discovered this treasure!
