I enjoyed this location. With directions it was easy to find. It was easy to set up after portaging everying up.
The treehouse requires that you walk from the street down about 50 yds on steep gravel path. Joe met me and we walked together to the treehouse. I didn't use the campfire, too hot, but it was set up to use. Lots of birds and a deer visited. Put my hammock up on the trees and took the first afternoon off. Planned two days but weather turned stormy so I left. The platform is nice and the stairs up are not steep so easy to get up there and the dog had no issue. Behind the platform is the casita which is about 6X 6 area. Only one window that opens and a door, no screens. (I had my own screen so was able to leave the window open for air. Lots of stuff to rent if you need it, like air mattress, tent etc. I had everything I needed. The toilet for #1 is just adjacent to the casita. It has no privacy at all but you can hang towels around it for some privacy. The #2 toilet is under the tree house on the ground with two privacy walls, open to the woods behind. There is a shower uses a basketball goal and a tube for water hanging overhead. There is no privacy beyond bushes. One issue was that I found several ticks on me once I got into the casita. I suppose the rain chased them in. I had sprayed for bugs before entering,, myself, the dog and the casita, but still found four of them on me that night. Don't have any latched on apparently.

Beautiful place to stay when in Blacksburg. Joe was a great host and was thorough when showing us the property. We slept in the covered portion during our stay since it was raining. We hope to return again during better weather.

This was a great stay! It was definitely such a beautiful spot. We stayed in the “casita” which was very comfortable and really cool to be immersed within the surrounding trees! Very close to nearby Blacksburg which was a plus. Joseph was very nice and great with communicating! Would definitely stay again.

This site is truly unique! The structure of the tree house is so neat, the space and surrounding garden is gorgeous, and the trails were a lovely treat. Joe is an amazing and accommodating host! His directions were super clear and helpful. Me, my partner, and our pup had a great stay, would 100000% recommend Floating Heaven :)

This place was magical! Joseph was so kind! He brought us donuts in the morning. The casita was dry even though it had rained all day. The flowers and trails were beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

Joseph was super helpful and welcoming. He had a fire pit ready to go with plenty of wood to use. The treehouse had a good view of some woods. Joseph has the blueprints hung up for how the platforms are attached which is super cool. Plenty of seating available and you can rearrange it however you’d like. I did get woken up pretty early by some construction equipment but that could be temporary. Would stay again.

Super unique hipcamp with a great host. Me and three friends stayed here and Joseph was able to accommodate all four of us comfortably. The fire pit kept us warm all night long and he also let us rent a tent to pitch on the deck.

Joseph was an amazing host and provided all the necessary amenities to feel the most at home! This treetop spot was the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the forest. We slept in the “casita” and waking up to that floor to ceiling window was just the icing on the cake.

Joe met us and was very warm and welcoming. He showed us all the features of the treehouse. It’s a beautiful site on the outer edge of a quiet suburban neighborhood, but very leafy and private. Tree house and platform definitely are cool

Got to fulfill kid’s dream (and the adults too) sleeping in a treehouse as a halfway point on a longer car trip. Loved having access to big Kroger’s supermarket (with Starbucks and bathrooms inside, too) only 5 minutes away also. We were able to squeeze three of us in the cabin (adults on two rental cots and our kid on an inflatable mat). It was raining when we arrived so the exposed platform was damp, but Joseph had a nice fire going for us. Consider getting your dinner stuff before u load in- once you arrive and get to relax in the treetops you won’t wanna go back out :)
Saw deer in the woods in the evening from the treehouse. A raccoon paid a visit at night scratching at the back wall from its tree. (Ignore it, and don’t feed it obviously). We enjoyed walking the little trail in the woods around the treehouse as well.
Loved the view from the windows! (Wouldn’t bring toddlers or any really rambunctious kids- could fall or crash thru a window if not being careful).
Hosts were super helpful when I left important things behind- make sure u check all the cabin hooks for your stuff before u leave (oops)!

Super cool treehouse made out of recycled materials! The owner was really nice, and even dropped by to grab our trash.
Things to know: if you're looking for super isolated camping, this isn't it- it's on the edge of semi-suburbia, and the treehouse is visible from several houses nearby. However, it's much more private than your average campground (you'll be the only campers on the site), and the location is really accessible if you need or want to go anywhere. Great either as a base camp, or just a place to chill! The property is beautiful and nicely maintained.
The Casita is very cute and compact- we brought our Queen cot and air mattress, and that was a little too big. The hosts have cots and an air mattress for rent, which is probably a better option than what we did! In the summer, you'll probably want to bring along a couple of battery powered fans (though we often were able to turn them off and just enjoy the breeze!)
There's two commodes, both of which aren't fully enclosed (though they're obscured from view by tarps and trees. I second the recommendation from other campers to either pack light, or be prepared to pack in a bit. You'll also want to pack in plenty of potable water, though the hosts provide an awesome solar shower. There's also a nifty fire pit on the treehouse deck.
All in all, a really fun place in a really cool town, well worth the trip down!

Floating Heaven exceeded all expectations! The location is perfect for stargazing and a great nights sleep in the cozy treehouse. Joe and Gilda were welcoming and communicative hosts, and had the fire pit all ready to start by the time I arrived. It was comfortable in the treehouse even on a chilly February night with the little space heater inside. Will absolutely stay again when I’m in the area next!

This place is amazing! We didn't have enough time to dabble in the yoga, but Joseph was an impeccable host, and the property is beautiful!! The tree house is plenty safe and the accommodations are plentiful. I will 100% be staying here again next time Im in the area. Take heed to the recommendation about packing light...too many trips to the car from the treehouse will wear you out.
