Winnington Farms is a spacious 45 acre piece of land just 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville! Drive up to your private campsite and explore the property with a 3 acre lake, and lots of hiking or exploring. Campers have access to the whole property, but are asked to keep all pets away from the main house, as we have two territorial dogs. The campsite has a fire ring (no grill grate), trash disposal, and space for up to 4 tents (in various areas). There is a composting “toilet” bucket for use, or feel free to go in nature. We ask that you bury any #2s and leave no trace. 4WD vehicles are required for camping by the lake, as the road down can get very muddy. Campers can either park in the driveway and walk down to the campsite, or park at the site and set up there. Hosts will typically be on-site to help with anything needed, and are available for meet & greet if requested!

The other reviewer wasn’t kidding about the beavers! Beautiful little hideaway spot by the water. Maxime was flexible, helpful, and accommodating. Really enjoyed the getaway. Thank you :)

Perfect Spot!
This campsite is on of the best campsites i have been to. This is a great campsite for a family, group of friends or just a couple of people who want to spend a few days in nature. It is not too far outside of Charlottesville and not too far from good hiking. The hosts are so nice and respect your privacy. The directions getting to the campsite were easy to follow and i go to my campsite easily. I drove all the way in with my Subaru Forester. There are kayaks to use and there is a resident beaver in the pond you might be able to see!

Maxime's lakeside campsite was a great spot to disconnect and relax for the weekend! The site itself is surprisingly secluded, and you feel like you have the space to yourself (despite minor road noise in the distance that wasn't disruptive to the experience). Maxime was a wonderful host, and responded with clear directions and answers to questions about the site. I would definitely recommend this campsite to others, and hope to visit again in the future!

Very nice and secluded location with beautiful scenery. Easy commute to Charlottesville, and the hosts were very accommodating for my hammock needs.

This was SUCH a nice camping spot. Secluded, right by water with a fire pit & chairs, and the stars are amazing at night. 10/10 would recommend

Lovely!
Loved this spot!! Stayed 4 nights. Being on the lil lake was so lovely! Beautiful fall colors reflecting in the water. Great fire pit . Very private spot , friendly communicative host . Close to lots of wineries and just 20 min to downtown restaurants.

Great secluded getaway.
Lovely, secluded spot with a charming drive in. Having the whole pond valley to yourself is really special. My dog loved wandering around the area and the campfire was a nice way to end a long day. Would recommend. As instructed, bring some big jugs of water for drinking, cooking, and handwashing! One note is that you can hear the highway from the campsite in the distance, but it's not loud.

Beautiful spot at the end of a quiet road! Dog and humans both had a great time, and the dog was able to stay cool swimming around.
