Crooked Mountain – Camping Near the Blue Ridge Parkway | Floyd, VA [xxxxxxxx] Crooked Mountain is a family and Veteran-owned farm, campground, camp store, and small event venue located just ½ mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Marker 159 near Floyd, Virginia. We designed Crooked Mountain to be a unique basecamp for travelers exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, especially those traveling by van, car, motorcycle, bicycle, or with small RVs. With easy access from the Parkway and scenic mountain roads nearby, it’s a great stop for road trippers, vanlifers, and anyone on two wheels exploring Southwest Virginia. The campground currently offers 15 campsites across the farm: • 7 sites on Pine Creek (Sites 1 & 12 have electric) • 5 field campsites with open views of the surrounding hills • 3 field sites with electric near the pond (Sites 13–15) Electric sites provide 30/20 amp power only. There are no water or sewer hookups at campsites. Guests can enjoy the natural setting of the property and access our hiking trail, fishing pond (catch n release for a fee) and other amenities on the farm while staying here. Our camp store offers tourism information about Floyd and the surrounding area (including local motorcycle/bicycle maps and routes, along with artisan goods, camping essentials (things you may have forgotten), snacks, drinks, coffee, ice, firewood and more. During the summer months we also open our fields for a You-Pick flower experience, where guests can purchase a container and create their own bouquet. Flower season typically runs July through September. Crooked Mountain is located along The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail, and the town of Floyd is just 4 miles away, offering live music, local restaurants, breweries, galleries, and the famous Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store. Whether you're traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway, riding Floyd’s scenic backroads, or just exploring the region, Crooked Mountain is a great place to stop and stay awhile. Come "Ride. What a wonderful place! From the warmest welcoming committee, Miss Roxy 🐾, to the beautiful fields of sunflowers, to the friendly accommodating hosts- we cannot rate this HipCamp highly enough. We stayed for FloydFest, which is an easy 15 minute drive away. The town of Floyd is close and the Floyd General Store is a must for breakfast or lunch. 15/10!

I've stayed here multiple times. It's lovely, peaceful and well taken care of. I don't think you could go wrong with any site on the grounds. Easily the best showers I've ever used at a campground. Obviously would return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crooked Mountain. The owners were so kind and willing to help us at any hour. They even went so far as to offer us some allergy medicine from their own home when they didn’t have what we needed in a hurry at their store. The general store is also well stocked with nearly everything you could need during your camp stay! The outhouse and showers are clean and very well taken care of. We stayed at campsite 3 and it seemed to be the most private of the tent sites apart from the group site in the back. The sounds of the creek were so relaxing at night. Crooked Mountain is a short drive to the charming town of Floyd and has quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will definitely be returning!

Crooked mountain was a great stopover for us on our roadtrip. The campground has a lot to it, so between the pond, creek, hiking trail, upcoming orchard, and flower beds there’s plenty to explore right on site. The place gives off a some nice easygoing community and festival vibes.

Crooked Mountain is a perfect getaway. While it’s geared toward two-wheel travelers (like adventure moto riders), don't let that deter you if you're on four wheels—it’s an incredibly peaceful spot for anyone looking to camp right next to Pine Creek. The location is ideal: close enough to town for convenience, but tucked so nicely between the hills that you feel completely disconnected from civilization. The amenities are fantastic. The camp store is stocked with all the necessities, and they have the cheapest firewood around. Plus, you get hot showers, a great hiking trail, and a massive "pick-your-own" flower patch. I stayed at Site 6, which was huge! It featured a large tent pad, a great fire ring, and a couple of perfect hammock spots. I came up for a solo weekend to ride my gravel bike, and this place is a cyclist's dream—the campground is literally half a mile from some of the best gravel riding the East Coast has to offer. To top it off, the hosts are wonderful people with a wealth of local knowledge, especially when it comes to those hidden, forgotten gravel roads. I will definitely be back soon!

Wonderful site, hosts, and experience! We learned a lot about the surrounding area (Ask about Oak Ridge!) and got to encounter nature up close—but not too close! When we went to the portable toilet around 4:30 AM, three baby skunks chased us a few feet down the road and blocked the gravel path back to our site. We found our way back without getting sprayed, but it would have made a funny video! 😂🫣🦨🦨🦨

We had a great time at the campground! The hosts were great and so helpful. Camping at spot 12 is a little tight with our popup but the dogs spent the weekend in the creek and loved it!

Great camping and awesome people! We rode in on our motocamping trip and was nice to have a spot ready to set up. We also purchased firewood when we booked and I highly recommend that. Good price and was seasoned hardwood that burnt well. Sites were easy to access and nice to be beside the creek.

Absolutely lovely location and owner, we will definitely be back again when the flower fields bloom! We were staying in site 5 and it was very spacious. I would definitely recommend the creek side sites. The bathroom and shower were also very clean! The hiking trail was very clearly marked so no fear of getting lost. The benches around the pond were also lovely to just sit and chat while the sun sets! Overall would highly recommend this spot 🌞

The hosts are great - friendly, communicative and accommodating. Fun camp store. The location is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway, lots of hiking, and downtown Floyd. Our creekside site #2 was very private and we loved the sound of the moving water. All the sites come with a hammock. We've already recommended the campground to friends and hope to return again.

The place is just perfect for traveller, very close and convenient from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tent sites are great, you can do last minute stay and there is nice shower too. It is truly a great deal. Bonus point for the people working there, they are passionate about it and we can see it!

We stayed at Crooked Mountain over the weekend and had a delightful experience. The location has a nice mix of field campsites that are out in the open and creek side sites that have more shade. There was a short hiking trail near our site, which was beautiful. One of the best bathroom/shower set ups I’ve seen at a campground before. Showers felt luxurious compared to most campgrounds. The porta potty was well taken care of and there was a separate area to wash your hands and dishes if you need to. The hosts were very accommodating and responded in a timely manner, offering us help or answers to any questions we had. 10/10 would recommend. Oh not to mention the actual location is gorgeous! Views of the mountains and farmland and only about 10 minutes outside of town. Definitely coming back!

This place is the best. It’s so great I stayed another day. The sites by creek are lovely with space and hammock and the sound of the rippling water. The place is clean and I’ll definitely return!

This is a gem of a camping space, so close to the town of Floyd and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Friendly host to check in and a restful night. My pup loved the grassy area and I loved the nice shower setup. Will hopefully return.

This is our third year camping at Crooked Mountain and we absolutely love it! The hosts are fantastic, and Brian came and checked on us one night when it had been raining very hard to make sure all the campers were okay. Cannot recommend them enough! Every year they make improvements to the property.

Great spot to spend a couple of nights in our Sprinter van. Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very peaceful and quiet. Could hear the steam from our campsite. Loved getting up early and walking our dogs around the field. Folks at the country store were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back for another stay at Crooked Mountain.
