Established in 1974, this family-owned campground was the dream of Larry Daniel, who envisioned a place where families could connect with nature and create lasting memories. The journey to creating Cozy Acres began in 1972 when Larry and his wife, Jean, operated an RV sales dealership in Richmond, VA. While they enjoyed success in their business, Larry's aspiration to open a campground never faded. When he discovered the ideal property in Powhatan County, he seized the opportunity, despite Jean's initial reservations. With the support of their young son, Scott, the family dedicated their weekends to transforming the land into a welcoming campground. After two years of hard work and just after welcoming their second son, Preston, Cozy Acres Campground opened its doors in time for the 4th of July weekend. Today, visitors can enjoy spacious sites, a peaceful atmosphere, and nearby attractions such as swimming holes, hiking trails, and local restaurants and shops. Cozy Acres Campground is more than just a place to stay; it’s a haven for families seeking adventure and relaxation in the great outdoors.
