It was a very nice location right next to the Appalachian trail and overlook. Very beautiful scenery. The only thing that could’ve been better for us as a family and our dogs would be more privacy. I didn’t realize until we got there that a lot of hikers would be coming through the campsite area to get on the trail all day until they close (9pm).

Amazing location & campsite. LOVE!
An amazing camping experience! We loved camping at Bear’s Den. You have access to the lodge (really cool and unique), and access to the AT. You’re right on an amazing lookout but can also hike just 3 miles north along the AT to Raven’s Rock, another amazing lookout! We loved the campsite, the setup, the location, and everything! Being close to the brewery was also really fun. Everything 10/10. Glen was super friendly, helpful, funny, and endearing. We really enjoyed interacting with him and hope to be back!

The campgrounds were amazing with ample space, fire pits, and very close proximity to the AT as well as other trails.

The site host was wonderful, and it was a perfect place to camp for first time campers! Loved the easy access to the AT as well as other trails :)

Spectacular views near by. Just rebuilt fire pits; very large. Great for kids. Table and rustic seating at each site. Great base for great hiking.

Community camping
Overall the site leans more on community over privacy with a common fireplace and close-nit camp areas. Site 1 is a bit hilly and the one level area was right next to the trail so we elected for Site 2 as we were the only ones there. It's definitely a walk-in area past the [now] orange poll to restrict vehicle drive-in. The immediate trails are short, relatively easy and fun to explore with some areas a little overgrown but navigable with a pause here and there. The lookout is well worth the stop any time of day but especially at sundown. Firewood provided actually means one 5gal bucket and extra buckets at $6/per and a bit of a haul to the sites from behind the lodge. All the sites were perfectly clean with little evidence where others may have pitched their tents. Fire pits, seating and picnic tables are nice to make it your forest home.
