Really beautiful spot off the beaten path with great views of the mountains. Nice level spot for the rig and the electric and water hookups worked great. Sam was also really responsive and a great host. Will be back!

Our stay at Secluded Mountain Meadow was perfect. Very private and conveniently located near the Blue Ridge Parkway. And yes, the skies were incredibly dark at night.

When the ad says you will have a dark sky park experience they are not kidding. This has been my best camping experience in a dark sky area. The place is well kept, very secluded feeling but if needed a few minutes walk there are other properties. My experience was great I arrived very late but had no problem setting my camp up. There is water access so it’s great. A few minutes drive is crab tree waterfalls and it was a great morning hike. I recommend this spot. Try to arrive early there is no cell phone reception.

The roads from I-81 to the site are an adventure given the narrow and winding mountain roads; however, the payoff is there when you arrive at the camp and can enjoy the beautiful secluded location. The campsite is down a hill in a pasture. The sites are graded within leveling jack range and have well maintained hookups. We were lucky to have sunshine so unsure how access may be impacted if we had rain and only two wheel drive. Sam was very responsive through HipCamp. I recommend this site.

Enjoyed the convenience near Crabtree falls.
The road up is not huge and turns into gravel and there is no cell service at the site so be prepared for that. Didn't bother us though!

The site was very private and very quiet. Sam was very prompt with communication.
No surprise that getting to the site is a drive through the mountains to get to the mountain site, inclines and declines. Sam let us know about a short spot on Fork Mtn Lane that had a little washout. We had no issue getting through with a Jeep Grand Cherokee pulling a pop-up camper and a Tundra pulling an RV. The sites are easy to get the rigs into. There’s electric and water on both sites; and a septic dump at site 1. We walked the dogs up top of the property and got cell service. Great views. We had good weather. The bugs were not bad. Still need to check for ticks in areas like that. I used a kukri to make kindling and started a fire on night two when it wasn’t too windy.
The stars started popping out as dusk turned to dark. It was a great stay in a mountain meadow.

Sam was very prompt with communication and made sure we were informed up to and through our day of arrival. It’s a very secluded site. We rented both rv sites for a 21 ft RV trailer and an additional family member with a pop-up camper. There was a short rough spot on Fork Mountain Lane that Sam let us know the condition and we had no issue traversing by just slowing down.
The two picnic tables gave us a place to grill on our blackstone, to eat, and just hang out. There was a charcoal grill available at the site if you wanted to use it - and bring your charcoal/ grilling supplies. There was firewood stacked by the site for use in the firepit. I used a kukri and a small log to chip/split down some tinder/kindling to start a fire the second night when it wasn’t too windy. We took a walk up from the site towards the entry gate and then higher up the ridge to the left to walk the dogs. We had cell connectivity up top there but none down at the rv sites just as the site information stated. I brought a satellite communication device that’s like a satellite hot spot to send texts from my phone through it to family. Being out in nature you’ll need to be mindful of ticks and such. The bugs weren’t bad at all at the site. We found a few ticks after our hike but we forgot to spray deet, permethrin, or picaridin on us before heading out. The stars started popping out after dark. Great place for stargazing. It was a very nice and restful weekend for us and the dogs.

We loved this site. There are two sites, but we were alone for our stay. The best thing about it was the sense of being totally secluded in a large area. Great for off leash dogs. Plenty of room to hike. Near Crabtree Falls. We did a lot of hiking right around the site. Watch out for ticks during tick season - A couple tick checks per day was necessary. Make sure your dogs are treated.
Great location and close to a lot of breweries, cideries, and wineries. We’d love to come back!

If you're looking for some privacy in a beautiful mountain setting, time around a campfire with friends, access to hikes along the AT - this is your spot. If you're looking to hit the wine trail or some of the breweries in the valley - it's a bit far from all those. But the site was perfect for our plans, and we'd certainly recommend it.

Sam was an amazing host!! Me and my fiancé are traveling with 6 dogs and this place was incredible. Water, electric, sewage, and on top of that complementary firewood (which we used to cook most our meals while we were there.)
We will definitely book here again when traveling the area. Thanks again Sam!
Side note: If traveling with a big trailer just be careful if you aren’t used to driving on inclined / winding roads. That is how most of the drive will be to get up to elevation.

This place is gorgeous! We loved the open field. It was wonderful for our dog to run as much as she wanted and at night for stargazing. Sam was a lovely host. He suggested a nice walk for us to take right by the campsite and he had firewood and other supplies on site. We would love to come back!

This is a unique spot in a pretty, privately owned meadow. We just stayed one night, traveling in between Virginia and North Carolina. The road does get a little rough towards the end, so do be prepared for that, if you go. Sam is a very clear, dependable, responsive communicator.

We loved the seclusion and remoteness of the 4 Mile Rock camp sites. After sleeping next to highways for several nights, it was a treat! The moon and stars were enthralling. We have a travel trailer and the dirt road was no problem, but the ground on the farm was very unlevel and we found it difficult to get the trailer leveled. We finally settled with "good enough". Wish we had more time to spend here.
