This was my second stay at the Zen Cabin. I just love the peace that surrounds the whole property. The cabin is very comfortable and there's a nice propane stove to keep it warm. I can't say enough about how good the well water is. For me, this is the perfect place to disconnect with the chaos of the world and connect with nature. Beautiful!

Peaceful evening. Cabin equipped with the things we needed. Rustic but in a good way. Found plenty of firewood around to use for the night. Bed was comfy. Nice family and very welcoming. Getty (food and store) up the road was worth a stop too.

Such a lovely spot, felt secluded and calm but also was close to many fun things (farmers market, Cabot cheese festival, bread and puppet)! Great amenities and the cabin was perfect.

We had a great stay at the Zen Cabin. The cute little cabin was just as advertised. Mitchell welcomed us and made sure we were all set. The temperature was forecasted to dip in to the 30s and he made sure the heater was working so we would be comfortable. It was a nice sleep after a fun wedding down the road. My wife and I enjoyed a crisp morning overlooking the field while we drank our coffee and looked at the cows who came to say hi. We only had a short stay, but it was clear that Mitchell and the Zen Cabin are a great little find in Northern Vermont.

Zen Cabin
Love love loved our stay at magical Zen cabin! Beautiful property, lovely peaceful spot, pup friendly, great stargazing, cozy sleeps, proximity to all the NEK good goods. Mitch is an amazing & super hospitable host. We had a glorious time & will definitely be back!

this was such a lovely spot! the bed was cozy, a nice wooden futon, and the cabin was spacious enough for all our extra gear to live inside overnight. the composting toilet is nice and clean, the parking is right beside the cabin and the firepit was perfectly placed to watch the sunset from our hammocks. Mitchell was a kind and gracious host and we felt very well taken care of, their dog was sweet and unobtrusive and knew enough to leave our dogs alone. the area of craftsbury is adorable, make sure you grab some firewood from the local spot on the way in.

Mitchell and Matteo are great. The area is beautiful to hike, swim, or just build a fire, toast some marshmallows and breathe. The cabin is adorable. This was our second time in the Zen cabin and I’m glad we came back.

We had such a good stay in the Zen Cabin! We will definitely be returning. Our host was kind and passionate, offering lots of suggestions about places to adventure to! We will be going back. It was peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable!

Mitch and his family are very welcoming hosts. Mitch took the time to say hello and chat, made sure everything was all set. Also gave some local advice for exploring the kingdom. Cabin was clean and cozy. Will go back again someday!

Great stay at the Zen Cabin. It's cozy and has just the right amount of amenities for some urbanites looking to camp out 1 night, and spend another with an actual roof overhead.

This charming cabin was set in a beautiful environment. The ferns, bee balm and flower pots made for a magical feel. Mitchell was very friendly and helpful. The cabin and setting definitely inspired a meditative state.

Zen Cabin
We had an excellent stay at Zen Cabin. The space was larger and much nicer than we expected. There was a wonderful area for fires, a picnic table, and even some chairs, which made for a fun and easy experience.

We loved staying at the Zen Cabin! It was a beautiful setting with the cows, farm and green mountains in the background. The bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting around the campfire. As others have said, the water from the natural spring is incredible! Really enjoyed talking to Mitch about sustainable agriculture! He is a fountain of knowledge! We will def come again!

Zen Cabin
Such a beautiful spot! We had a bit of a rainy weekend but we stayed nice and dry inside of the cabin. Mitchell & family were very welcoming and helped us find great places to view local wildlife. 10 out of 10!

Mitch and Heidi’s Zen Cabin was a real treat to stay at. It’s a cozy and spacious cabin, nicely decorated, private, and in a magical setting. Mitch and Heidi were very sweet and kind people and gracious hosts. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

What an incredible place! The Zen Cabin is a beautiful, thoughtfully-planned space. Mitchell has gone above and beyond to create a welcoming and cozy space. The cabin is spotless, comfortable and really well decorated. We met Mitchell, his son and their dog and they were all so kind and helpful, and made us feel right at home. We could have stayed for a while! The fire pit at night was just perfect to give our kids some smores, and sit out comfortably. Mitchell let us pick some green beans for dinner and explore the property. This is such a lovely place, as is the larger area of Craftsbury. Highly, highly recommend. We will be back!

Our stay at Mitchell's property was beyond our expectations. Mitch was helpful, super kind, and so much fun to get to know. It's no exaggeration to say that the zen cabin lives up to it's name (and more!). There's plenty to do and see in the area, and all of Mitch's recommendations were simply top notch. Our stay at the zen cabin has only cultivated a greater love and appreciation for the NEK/Vermont. We are already planning our next visit back!

This sweet cabin is so adorable and peaceful. This was my first solo retreat and the first time I used Hipcamp. I am hooked! This cabin is on a piece of land surrounded by pine trees with a fire pit, picnic table, chairs, and an outhouse. The hummingbirds feasting on bee balm was one of my favorite features of this place. Mitchell and his family have a beautiful property. They are so welcoming and generous to share their Zen cabin with campers. I am a teacher, wife, and mother and this little retreat was just what I needed. Protect your peace and check out the Zen cabin.

Signage and clear directions made the place easy to find.
Their property was absolutely stunning. As promised, we were gleefully greeted by Mateo and Hank. Mitchell gave us a rundown of things to do in the area, and a great range of options (from Margarita Nights to silent hikes).
The place itself was so.comfortable. A bit larger than I imagined from the photos (my SO is 6'3" and slept comfortably in the bed). My first time using an outdoor shower (which they explained when we arrived) and tha t was cool.
As for location, you're pretty much 5 minutes away from wifi / a cute corner store (in Albany), 10 minutes away from a larger village, and 30 minutes away from over a dozen hikes / kayak spots / rivers / lakes / peaks.
There's a flower bed directly in front of the HipCamp where hummingbirds come, regardless of how close you are.
Y'all gotta see this place it's so nice.
