Come see Lake Shaftsbury State Park! This 200 year old farm is at the top of a dead end road on 150 acres. It sits in a region of Bennington County formerly called Healing Springs Vermont. The springs that flow off of West Mountain come down through the farm and across Route 7 where they feed the picturesque state park! Best drinking water, anywhere to the left of the chimney at the white house. Arrive at our 150 acre property at the top of this dead-end road.. (Please stay left all the way up to the top...the road becomes our driveway).. Step out onto this 200-year-old farm at your own private site all of which are several acres each minimum.. Walk to streams ponds and Lake Shaftsbury State Park.

Slowly stay left all the way up the town road and after you arrive at the farm continue up until you pass the white house make a right turn right after Big Red Barn and continue up (with 4wd or all wheel drive vehicle) into this 7 acre field, set up camp, and look South to enjoy Vermont's beautiful Green Mountains all the way down to Northern Massachusetts! Best drinking water anywhere is at the front of the house to the left of the chimney

Remember to stay left all the way up the town road until you arrive at our farm... continue all the way up the hill past barns and coops and make left at the top...Spread out in this large 8 acre pasture and enjoy the quiet views of VT's beautiful southern Green mtns. in complete privacy! Lots of space for setting up in the open field or in the shade of maple, beech, birch and oak trees... All-wheel drive, four-wheel drive might be helpful with lots of rain wet leaves etc in spring and fall.. Best drinking water anywhere is at the front of the house to the left of the chimney

Slowly drive up Timbertrail rd, ,(stay left until you reach the large white farmhouse)...pass the farmhouse then the barns and coops ...continue on to the TOP field on the right and drive onto a large, level site... look east to see awesome views of VT's Green Mountains... Large shade trees are in the pasture to enjoy. Only a few feet to a forest road for more shady options for your tent! With spring snow and wet fall leaves etc... all-wheel drive would be a plus but not absolutely necessary... Many ordinary sedans have no problem ..hybrids etc included... Best drinking water anywhere is at the front of the white house to the left of the chimney.... Enjoy!

Stay left all the way up the Town road and park around back of this insulated post and beam barn which is set on a 200 year old stone foundation. Walk up the back stairs, switch for the lights is on your left on outside of barn and set up on this 25x40 heavy duty wood planked floor... Lots of light and lots of hiking and biking. Also feel free to enjoy a quiet walk around this picturesque property. Don't forget your darts and your favorite vinyl! (you are staying in a beautiful one of a kind timber frame barn... the wood stove is great for cooking and heat but if it is super cold out you should come prepared). Also as is stated elsewhere in this listing.. this is basically a giant indoor campsite there is a wood stove, freezer, beds with just sheets and pillows, couches... there are no kitchen cooking utensils pots pans plates forks knives provided) ...we have just converted the 2 twin beds over to a queen bed because of campers requests... The best drinking water anywhere is at the front of the house to the left of the chimney....You will see a spigot

No tent? No bother! Please stay left all the way up the Town road... Continue up past the barns to this cozy farm building and your own 5-acre field. This building has seen mixed uses over the years....from chicken coop to sheep shearing to garden shed to storage. Sheets, pillows and electricity provided ... One twin bed one full size bed both come with fresh linen... Sheet, fitted sheet, pillow, pillowcase... Outhouse right across the road.. Mountain spring water at spigot across the road...... Drinking water at spigot next to chimney at main house. Fire pit and three chairs right outside the building.. barbecue also provided... Please be advised to your basically getting an indoor campsite.. have fun!

We had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. The accommodation suited our needs. Having to outdoor compost potty with a scenic view was a plus for outdoors camping. We had heavy rain, but we were prepared. Mike had that wonderful pizza oven that we took full advantage of making so delicious pizza. We plan on returning to repeat our adventure.

Absolutely beautiful site with useful amenities. Would definitely cone baxk and recommend. Only comment is that the pit toilet at West Mtn. site is visible from camp though it is a little down a path. A mild effort to put walls around it would greatly increase privacy.

Incredible and unique space in a supremely beautiful place. I had an amazing time staying in the barn for two nights. Very comfortable, spacious, and solid building! Complete gem of a place. Mike and co were so welcoming and I couldn’t have been more comfortable there. Thanks for the experience and hope to be back! Best Hipcamp experience I’ve had, probably that’s around. 🍻

Mike’s Barn was exactly as advertised! A perfect and beautiful place to relax and listen to music (great record collection) and cook on an open fire right outside the barn. Great to have the freezer and working lights and bed and couches and the outhouse was pretty good for an outhouse and not that far even in the dark. The water from the spigot at the house is as delicious as described! Mike is an excellent host and great communicator. Would love to come back in winter!

I needed a last minute getaway in peace and quiet, and this spot delivered. Easy directions to my campsite, lots of room to spread out, and it felt very private. No other campers this weekend, but if there were I do not believe we would ever meet. And that is perfect :) Gorgeous sunrise and view! Forever wild field all around and lots of wildlife. Especially enjoyed the morning visit to the compost pit, what an experience! Added to my favorite spots! Thank you for your kind hospitality Mike.

Awesome view from the campsite, having some chairs provided was nice too. My Sedan scraped the trail a bit while getting to the campsite so make sure you have ground clearance and you will be all set.

I loved this camping spot! Mike was very friendly upon my arrival helping point me in the right direction to my spot. The sites were very well marked. Beautiful overlook I enjoyed hanging out there for the day. The grass was well maintained for both the site and path to the outdoor pit toilet. Firewood was easily accessible. I 100% will be coming back!

This camp is epic. We loved everything about our stay. Quiet, beautiful sunset, well kept. Composting toilet was well kept and shower was unique and something I won’t forget! The host’s barn and vans are rad. Never met them but very grateful for their hospitality. Direction were all we needed!

What a beautiful spot , my husband, son and I really enjoyed the private space we had . The view was incredible. The site was clean and very well maintained. We hope to visit again and bring the rest of the family with us .

I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Site all to yourself, can barely even hear the neighboring sites let alone see them. The view?? One of the best views we’ve had camping so far. I thought the added touch of the cold water shower was awesome !! Site comes equipped with nice fire ring, 4 chairs & a picnic table. I can see where AWD or 4WD makes the trek to the site easier, but we had no issues in our ford Econoline camper van getting to our site. We will definitely be back in the chance we’re back in the Bennington area of Vermont!
