Located at the end of a dirt road, quiet with views of Killington/Pico and Salt Ash Mountain. Its a 15 min drive from Okemo/Ludlow, 10min drive from the Appalachian trail (7.9 mile walk) and there are 3 other Ski resorts within an hour of us as well as numerous lakes and hiking trails. Just 2 miles up the road is Star Lake and the quaint town of Belmont. Our 7 acres sits on the Northside of Belmont hill. Half of it is open with several gardens to meander through. There is a pergola filled with kiwis and wisteria and a hammock for lounging. A shady grape arbor filled with white grapes that we have made wine with. On property we have a tree fort, greenhouse, chickens and pigs. We do provide fresh eggs for sale. There is a medium pond in the back for swimming, a large fire pit for fires and but the Hip Shack comes with its own fire pit/grill combo. Wood bundle's are also available. There is a rudimentary outdoor toilet and shower. The shower can be filled with hot water using the faucet by the garage. All water from hoses, pump hoses and faucets is the same drinkable well water, collected from the many underground springs that also feed into the pond.The Hip Shack offers a 4 season shelter with solar light. There is a hammock that can be hung inside or taken down as needed. The Hip -Shack is equipped with a Full Size bed that can be put against the wall as needed. The Hip Shack alone comfortably sleeps 2 and has squeezed in 5 people. We have 3 cots (rental for $5 each). There is room to place a tent outside so this site can host up to 10 guests. The shack is insulated and we offer a space heater. For the winter months the outdoor facilities freeze but we do offer access to an indoor bathroom and shower. There is a medium pond in the back for swimming, a large fire pit for fires and but the Hip Shack comes with its own fire pit/grill combo. Wood bundle's are also available. Hip Shack
The host was very lovely, we had a great stay. The space heater was not working for us so it was a cold night but we brought extra blankets so it was fine. The host said she was in the process of fixing the heater. Would definitely recommend staying here the property is very beautiful!

Andrea's Hip Shack was very cozy! It got a little bit chilly at night, but the hip shack stayed warm and the mattress was super comfortable. The hammock inside is a fun bonus too! We really enjoyed hanging out with the cats and watching the chickens roam about in the morning. Andrea was incredibly kind and greeted us in the morning to show us around the property, which is beautiful! Highly recommend staying at the Hip Shack!

We loved Andrea’s land her gardens were so pretty. We loved the chickens and rooster just roaming around on the property. The pond was absolutely amazing it is filled with koi fish 🐠 Andrea let us use her paddle board and floats. The Mountain View was spectacular. We definitely recommend staying at the coop.

Andrea was so sweet! She greeted me when I got there and showed me around! The Coop itself is so charming! I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a nice weekend in a gorgeous area!

Great little spot, only stayed for one night but the shed and the bed was so cute and cozy and exactly what I needed. The spot cooled down pretty quickly despite being a very hot day in July. The hammock was a nice touch too, could probabaly sleep three in the shed if someone slept in the hammock as well.

Easy to find, exactly what we expected and such kind hosts! They were celebrating a birthday and brought us a piece of cake, plus the hosts kids came swimming in the pond with us- much to my daughters delight! Even with the unexpected rain and thunderstorms that rolled through while we slept, we were cozy and dry in the coop with an excellent ASMR experience to boot! Such a kid friendly place and super close to other places to explore!

Andrea’s spot is absolutely ideal! The Coop was equipped with everything we needed to sleep comfortably and enjoy beautiful stars and campfire dinners. Her animals (sweet dog, pigs, chickens) were an added bonus as were the views. We can’t wait to come back!

We had the best weekend getaway at The Coop. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by Andrea and her family. The Coop is cozy and beautifully maintained. Andrea was an incredibly thoughtful host, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The animals on the property were a major plus. Great location with gorgeous views. Highly recommend!

Backyard Camping at the Hipshack

We spent a lovely night at the Hipshack and felt cozy and comfortable even during some unexpected evening rainstorms. Our host Andrea was super welcoming and gave us a tour of the very fruitful property, sharing fresh tomatoes, walking us through the greenhouse and showing us the nearby fort and pond. The shack has a picnic table, an interior light, and a full mattress bed that can sleep 2 with space to pitch a tent. There is a composting toilet and a solar outdoor shower but no immediate running water access. In addition there is a pond where you can swim, a large fire pit, and a walking trail. I thought this was a great glamping experience with very accommodating hosts. I would note that the Hipshack is about a stone's throw from the hosts home so it was a little less private than other Hipcamp experiences. I would also note that you are camped beside the chicken coop with a rooster so I would recommend earplugs if you want to sleep in.

So the host was super nice and extremely considerate. We stayed in the shack since there was snow on the ground. Its was night time and extremely foggy when we arrived so we where a little on edge at first but they are some of the nicest ppl ive ever met. Definitely made us feel safe and comfortable.

I had a great stay here. They provided a nice place to pitch my tent and a bathroom with a warm shower. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

The land is absolutely beautiful. And the family who lives in the house on the property is super friendly and accommodating. The surrounding area is a bit remote. Right up my alley. They have a hydroponics store, a gas station, and 1 or 2 restaurants within a few mins of their property but if you want fast food or a bigger store you'll have to drive about 20 to 30 mins to the next town. The view is amazing on their property. They have a building that is included in your stay or you can set up a tent. There's plenty of hiking areas around there as well. I highly recommend this property.

We had such a lovely time camping at the coop! Andrea has great communication, was a fantastic and gracious host, and her entire family was very friendly and accommodating! The property is super easy to find and not too far up a dirt road (that is very well maintained). The land has gorgeous views, big gardens, an awesome greenhouse, chickens, and is very quiet! It’s the perfect location for anyone wanting to explore Ludlow, Woodstock, Rutland… and beyond! Our camp set up was great! We had everything we needed (including Wi-Fi!). The bathroom is located right inside the house and we were super appreciative of the great water pressure and hot shower! The private pond with a little beach was a major plus for the very hot day we had! 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, and community oriented place to camp. Thank you Andrea!!
