A hostel within steps of a ‘residential community’ which is altogether a series of about eight buildings. Everything is off limits for only the community except the little hostel part of a building where there is a shared bathroom kitchenette and where there are 3 or 4 rooms they hostel out to people. The trails where you can camp are as far a I can tell well kept. This is more of a backpacking camping hiking maybe stay a night in a hammock camp. Not a bring your kids or family. You park at the base and walk into the path from there it’s pretty thick and there are few opportunities for a flat surface to camp without walking for long distance and even then only one trail to they really want you camping on the other is a hiking trail. There is one shared fire pit close to the base where you park and near an outhouse. The host when I called when I arrived didn’t pick up my cal but text me to say she was on the phone can she cal me back. So I text stating my name and that I’m unsure if I’m even in the right spot. She sends ‘john’ out who is obviously the management slash working person there. John came out and explained The set up. I almost left but I had promised my 6 year old wee camp. We camped about ten yards from my car at the very bottom of the base of the trail and even that is 20 yards from the fire pit which is uphill. Overall I could’ve camped on my friends lawn in tinmouth Vermont and had the same experience and would have had my own fire pit. Maybe I misread the ad but it was not what I expected.

The site is beautiful and really quiet. It’s near the Mont Mansfield and it’s easy to find them.

We had a great experience at the ReTribe hostel. We had originally planned to camp, but were able to move into an open bunk room in the hostel because of heavy rains the first night. Our host was great and very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and the proximity to hike Mt. Mansfield and get up to the Notch. ReTribe has an interesting mission and communal living located on the property.
