Once part of a 17th century farm in the bowl of the Southern Vermont mountains, our land is now finding new life in a 21st century back-to-the-earth homestead. Just as the hippies, long-hairs and counter-culturalists raced up to the promise of Vermont in the late 60's, we have continued Vermont's decades old tradition of youth leaving their suburban or urban upbringing to stick their feet in the mud in VT. Our land is 15 acres running right along the State forest. A brook meanders the length of the woods and forms a cascade of waterfalls.  Forest bathing, unplugging, whatever the jargon is, it can be done here. Hike into the woods with a bag and leave behind any other human faces. Take a walk out along the original homesteaders path and come to the VASTS trail. With a mountain bike, hiking shoes or snowmobile in tow, the trail will take you all the way to Canada... or better yet, the Guilford country store, for some down to earth country Vermont food AND Heady Topper chilled in the fridge.   And hey, if you want to check out our hand-built tiny house on wheels and all the off-grid living stuff that comes with, we'd be happy to give you the tour!  And yes, Dharma (the VW bus) is happy to pose for photos.  We currently offer yoga classes as well in the morning on the deck at our homestead. Classes are donation based and taught by Aria who is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. Bring your own mat or towel. Weekend classes are at 8am, weekday at 6am. Just let us know if you'd like a class!

Coyote Ridge
Secluded wilderness escape
We loved our stay at Coyote Ridge. The site is very secluded with great views over the ridge of the creek below and a large rock structure at your back. The sound of the creek and still woods made for a peaceful wilderness escape. Aria was a great host and very responsive to questions I had on the app’s messaging platform. Be aware that it is ~10 minute hike to the site and there was only just enough room for a 2 person tent but it was the perfect space for my boyfriend and I. Our only complaint was the lack of a flat surface for the tent which meant we were sleeping on an incline. A small platform like some of the other sites had would help this issue. Overall we had a great experience at Coyote Ridge and would definitely come back again!

We enjoyed our weekend on Aria’s quiet, serene campsite! The site feels private and secluded, but is easily accessed. Having extra firewood on-site was a great bonus. Would definitely recommend!

Super clean, easy to find, and the site had a good level of privacy. My friend and I really enjoyed our time relaxing on the open front porch while the rain came down. Warning: fair amount of spiders inside the structure and the bathroom is a bit of a walk from the site.

Owl Grove
Loved it! Would come back anytime
Our experience at Owl Grove was unconditionally fantastic. The site is one of 3 on the property, and just a short walk away from parking, but still incredibly private. I have a bad ankle, and the walk with all of our gear was still completely manageable. We were late to arrive and had to set up at our site when it was getting dark, but the site was easy to find and set up, even in the dark-ish. Aria and Colby were kind enough to wait around to greet and orient us. They were helpful and friendly, directing us to the firewood and chatting when we got in, but totally unobtrusive during our stay. The tree stumps set up around the fire pit were great, easily offering all the “table” function that we needed, and serving as comfortable seating. We really wanted a baby-steps-towards-backpacking stay, so we were really looking for a beautiful backwoods space that offered a great clearing and solid surface for us to try our hand at backcountry skills, and this site was perfect for what we wanted with extra pleasant amenities thrown in. The outhouse was nearby but not too close, the most nicely maintained outhouse we’ve ever camped or hiked around! The firewood was easy to access and get to our site; you’re welcome to come back and self-service to get more firewood at any time if you underestimate your needs. The site was vast, surrounded by trees on all sides. So whether you’re looking for a more backwoods experience or a cozy stay with cushy amenities, this site has got your back!

"Bear's Den" tiny A-Frame
Our stay in the Bear’s Den tiny A-frame was absolutely wonderful! The site is surrounded by gorgeous woods and has a separate fire pit area for your evening campfires. The A-frame is well-kept with thoughtful touches like a screened window and a transparent wall that opens as a patio cover, letting you decide how to configure the space. We loved the Cabin Porn reading material provided as well—perfect for the setting! If you like camping but want something sturdier than a tent, the Bear’s Den is the way to go!

Coyote Ridge
Camping with animals
This is my second year camping at Coyote Ridge and we just love it! Short hike in threw the forest. There are closer sites if you would mind the trek, but this site provides much privacy for relaxing and exploring. If the season is not dry, there is also a small creek that is perfect for a quick dip to cool down. Plenty of fallen branches to gather for the camp fire at night. Mosquitos were of no bother and the ridge is plenty big for everything you need. We also brought my 4.5 yo puppy who enjoyed just as much. Highly recommend!

Owl Grove
The space for camping - the grove - was just perfect and beautiful. You could accomodate several friends or families with plenty of space. I loved the artistic touches with the signs. The short walk from parking was nice and easy but felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Couldn't see or hear any other sites. The only complaint (and incredibly sad part for many reasons) was the fact that the brook that played such a role in the listing was literally dried up. There was no brook to sleep by (or keep my dog cool) so the listing should really be updated to note this when it happens.

Coyote Ridge
This was our second time staying at Coyote Ridge! It was peaceful and beautiful. Aria let's you come in and out to do your own thing. The creek that usually flows through the property was pretty dry do to lack of rain so I recommend staying there after good rain so the waterfalls are flowing nicely again. All in all a wonderful stay will most likely be back again.

Coyote Ridge
Private Campsite
What I loved most about Aria's land is that as soon as I parked I felt very welcomed (the parking is at her main house) but there is no formal check-in which makes it convenient and low-stress. The campsite I stayed at (Coyote Ridge) is a 3-5min walk through the woods and is very private. It's a wonderful getaway. I was able to take my dogs with me and they had the ability to explore without disturbing others.

Pure Magic Camping with The Owls
This spot was perfect and the hosts were so easy to connect with. We even came in later than we hoped and they had our firewood at the site for us. The walk to the campsite is delightful and I also felt safe camping there with my young daughter. The structure even locked. We loved sleeping on the hammocks and were thrilled to hear the owls calling to one another while enjoying the campfire. In the morning we opened up the side wall and hung out on the deck.

Owl Grove
Very peaceful place to stay.
We had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend camping at Owl Grove. It was the perfect distance from the parking area too. Our dogs enjoyed the campsite, and the woods were so quiet at night. There were other campers during our stay but we heard nothing from the other sites. We can’t wait to come back and try another site on the property! Also a bonus - not that we wanted to leave - but Brattleboro and Hinsdale were a short drive away for shopping, breweries and civilization. Thank you Aria and Colby for sharing your beautiful land.

Safe Solo Camp
I enjoy solo-camping and Aria's campsites are beautiful for this very thing. The Bear Den's site was where I stayed, in the a-frame. It was a comforting, safe location that offered scenic views, a small hike back into the woods to the actual sites, and a quiet location! It was lovely and Aria is very welcoming and accommodating. I will definitely be back!

Perfect Camping Retreat Spot
This camp site on Aria's land is tucked back on a hillside about a 10 minute walk through the woods. There are visible signs to follow to get there and a lovely river running below. It is secluded and serene. A very nice firepit has been built with local stone. And you can access the river via a side path down the hill.

Owl Grove
Our stay at Owl Grove was ideal. The site was so lovely, right next to a stream. It had the feel of backcountry camping, being secluded and surrounded by beautiful forest, but with the convenience of only being about a 5 minute walk from the parking area. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and made our stay a smooth and pleasant experience.

Owl Grove
Beautiful! Peaceful! Magical!!
Absolutely beautiful!! Owl Grove site is in a flat spot under tall trees right next to the river. Quiet. Magical. We hiked up to coyote ridge site where it overlooks the river. Lots of trails to hike around the property. Owl Grove site is a short trip from the car. We were able to easily carry down our tent and supplies and chairs with a few trips back and forth to the car. It’s about a 2 min walk with a small incline from car to camp site. Colby and Aria were wonderful, laidback, and friendly. We stayed there with my 6y old son and he had a blast! Short drive into Brattleboro and some great hiking spots, although you could easily stay right at the campsite relaxing by the river and hiking the many trails right at the property. The land is so beautiful, we can’t wait to come back! Thank you!
